@@angelmarques3124 The only thing illegal is he moved his king 2 squares. Of course, it's only illegal if your opponent calls it, otherwise, play goes on. So you could move a king into check if your opponent allows it, and you can also have king take king. Coffee chess blitz games have included missed checkmates, a knight that moved diagonally, and a pawn that was added back onto the board on the seventh rank, all apparently by accident during the final seconds. Pretty hilarious if you aren't playing. Bottom line, always watch the board! And if you play, be very exact in moving pieces.

Thanks for taking the time to come out and represent the game of chess. You’re a true ambassador of the game. More GM’s should come out to regular parks to play and mingle with the every day common player. Plus, it can only help increase your fan base and by doing so, increase your UA-cam subscriber base. More money in monetizing your UA-cam channel than actually winning tournaments.
You know, I'm a seriously terrible chess player --- I'm probably around 1200 --- but it is interesting to see the various commentaries about chess games ... but I have to say, the most fun is the delight and joy and whimsical pranksterism, and even generosity, that Nakamura brings to the game. GMH didn't have to sac his king in that game, but it was by far the most delightful outcome possible. Everybody there had a fabulous time, and that ought to matter. Thanks GMH.
This was one of my favorite coffee chess spin offs I love how the coffee chess crew mentors and embraces the new generation to have a passion for chess really gives me hope for the next generation. Plus salami is a little beast in the making!
I guess the problem was the backward d pawn combined with the 2 vs 3 on the queenside. Naka can force him to defend the d pawn and go run the outside passers.
Golani Salami. That's a name to remember. I like the fact that he wasn't just playing the board, but he was also gauging Hikaru's reactions and looking at where Hikaru's eyes were going on the board to see where he should devote his attention. Next new record for youngest GM incoming???

@@angelmarques3124 i cant tell if your kidding
@@sebastianholzl4668 I was not, actually. Who knows, it might be some weird rule I don’t know, they are the masters

I really liked the kid. He lost with a smile. That is the only way to become a super gm.
That's very untrue. A person who's capable of being a super gm should be a bad loser. Magnus Carlsen and many other gm are bad losers, because they want to improve after EVERY games.

What a humble guy! lucky that man in pineapple shirt to be able to play with Golani!
“I don’t know if we’ll go wild but we’re going somewhere” was a hilarious and witty comment xD
The little man was playing briliantly... till the " crowd" yelled "take the rook, yeah its ok...".
What an obvious trap and a lesson for life, dont take advices from others seriously.
What a wonderful guy Hikaru is. The version he played against the kid, smoothing down all the sharp corners - very delightful.
"Guy in pineapple shirt bullies 9 year olds"
Imagine being a 9 years old boy and your opponent defeat you with enough time to play another game 🐧
Couldn’t be me (probably me)
I love how Golani has watched the other games and is looking at Hikaru's face to detect any subtle hints on bad moves.
5:07 That made me burst into laughter🤣
This video is absolutely incredible. Not every World caliber player would give a kid a chance because of some nonsense like "I don't play for free" or some BS like that. I love this gives Golani experience to help him learn things like What to do when you don't know what to do. I also loved the crowd "Look, I'm Using the biggest words I got." Nothing like seeing the Youngest Chess Master ever playing new prodigies to help teach and bring up the next generation. This is what UA-cam is supposed to be. Thank You Hikaru for sharing this : ).
The guy in pineapple shirt gave a good fight , with some practice he might beat 1500 rated players .
Yeah, he has some potential.
Nah I’d say he can beat at most 1100s on a good day
Magnus be like "Decent" 😂
Yeah but i am better i think he miss 28 mat in 1
If he was any good, he wouldn't be playing 9-year-olds at clubs, don't you think?
So awesome he took the time to play a kid! A well talented kid! And gave him pointers!
I understand 0 from chess but I love watching these, and to see a GM help this kid out was so hearwarming! Such a kind guy!
@GMHikaru 03:49 "It is only one problem", that was brutal for the kid. After this he only thinks about the 'problem' that he can't see and the SuperGM sees.
what was the problem tho?
@@Samuelchallenge d6
@@Samuelchallenge his clock, i think

but he saw the problem though. he defended it. but the b5 became a problem XD
"who would've thought?"
some random old guy: "he did"
That girl in the middle got her body cut off but watched the entire game
I love the way they have an arrow at the start showing witch one was the nine year old prodigy and who was hikaru
I've watched a lot of Hikaru over the years. Never had I seen someone actually take his king. Props to the kid. He's gonna be fine in life.
I hope that boy knows he just played one of the best players in the world n made it to late game
Great kid, lovely crowd. Kudos to Hikaru for his contributions to the chess world, happenings like this means so much and is in fact beyond chess, lovely to watch and hear all the laughter
Hikaru is not only a good player, he also seems an approachable kind guy. Equally important imo.
I'd love to see Hikaru coach prodigies who go on to beat Magnus Carlsen
1:05 the look: "omg the kid is better than he thinks he is!"
Hikaru's so cool :)
When he said there's only one problem. I thought he was gonna follow up with, you'll see in time.
Great game from both participants. I especially like when Hikaru gave the young man some pointers at the end (during the other game they played).
Meanwhile Karpov on national TV Show destroys 4y.o. boy on stage

That kid played really well
Check out him on Coffee Chess, he is a real talent
Hikaru went for fairly standard opening to make it a little easier for him but still it was pretty impressive to get to end game on his own.
Not on his own completely, he had help with the rook block move
@@wsemenske because Salami was low on time... it is easy to play fast when you are learning theory more years than your opponent is living :D (and this was fun event. I respect Hikaru for playing with the chess crew to help them grow)

Hikura - this video made me smile from start to finish! The positive energy from everyone in and around this game!
Thank you! :)
It was so heartwarming to see Hikaru let Golani take back the move and block with the rook :) Goes to show Hikaru doesn't just wanna bully him but rather have a nice, instructing game!
Why would he wanna bully a kid? XD
The best part is when Hikaru undoes the Prodigy's move and says "No no. Block with the Rook."
The kid will be spending his nights thinking about what was the problem with that position.

How to win a GM in a pine apple shirt
9 year old prodigy : Murder his king
The Kid is too nice. I miss playing chess in parks/streets.
Thanks GMH.
Kid said "Good luck" to Hikaru 😂 What a little boss
I have seen Hikaru playing in Pineapple shirt more than in a suit. He's a people's chess player.
“I challenged a 9 year old to a chess competition and won.”
This was one of my favorite coffee chess spin offs I love how the coffee chess crew mentors and embraces the new generation to have a passion for chess really gives me hope for the next generation. Plus salami is a little beast in the making!
When young calm players rule the game, he is so calm and enjoying the game, kudos to the kid, the more you calm the more focus you will be
I guess the problem was the backward d pawn combined with the 2 vs 3 on the queenside.
You can watch hes other games in Coffee chess, hes so funny and good. And everybody there taking care of him. Hes definetly going to be a GM
