As far as I'm concerned if a world champ calls it a horsie that becomes a legitimate chess term so in at least blitz chess it can properly be referred to as either knight or horsie.

Yeah you're spot-on. He has said ons stream that he played 100s of 1000s of blitz games, I'd guess about 500k. That's a couple million moves.
In case someone wonder who's the winner : It's a draw
reason : - neither player has enough material remaining to checkmate the other (how can u checkmate world player with just queen lol).
Or - Repetition (at the end the kid did that, and looked magnus in the eye).
Both agree to draw in a way that most of us didn't notice .

Cause he can assume the players he is recreating only made one of the "best moves." It takes out variables
Its kinda easy only, I am a amateur chess player and most people who undergo coaching and who had taken chess seriously can do this.
But this man would have 100s of games in his mind ❤️🔥
@@claudeyaz that’s a good analogy. When someone is incredibly good at what they do they can copy others from just watching what they did. For example a skilled guitar player can listen or watch someone play a riff or a song etc they’ve never heard before and then be able to roughly play it themselves to some degree. Someone who races cars for a living can watch someone do the route of a new race track and memorise it completely. I guess the level of difficulty can increase and decrease but the fundamentals stay the same for most things.
Move for move is not at all true he shuffled a lot of pieces around to get it to that position maybe about 80% accuracy on the actual game moves but not move for move.

I came to watch magnus getting angry, ended up watching hikaru replaying the whole game from memory in a few seconds.
It’s hilarious to watch Hikaru try to hold in a smile but can’t contain it
My heart actually started beating faster closer to the end because of the time they had left
Guys, he can "memorize the game" because he's seeing it in big interconnected pieces and not as a series of stand-alone moves. It's like when a really musician can play along the first time he hears a chord progression. They know the shape of a song and that fills in a lot of details. Hes seen (probably) millions of games. He knows the shapes of the game.
Woah duh
Still impressive as fuck IMO
A musician can't play along the first time hearing a chord progression in that sense, unless they are just improvising over the chords as they hear and indentify them. What you mean is they can easily improvise over or play a known, common progression like a vi-ii-V-I in any key
@@cyanhallows7809 almost all chord progressions are common or have chunks of common chunks because 1 chord can only lead to a few other directions without sounding jarring.
@@BryWMac So what? You improvise over a set of changes when you 'almost' know them. That subtley bears many fruit, extensions for example can completely change the sound of your improvisation, choosing them is based very much so on the chords where the same one can come from different keys and have alterations that suggest different sounds
Seeing him recreate the board...absolutely amazing memory and calculation. He's a real wizard for sure
