I love how animalistic Greene is during his one-on-one with Bond. Where as Bond is a strong and calculated killer, Greene is unpredictable and wild with his offense. He had Bond counterattacking the entire time, which was Greene's downfall with that final swing.

I think there were some "minor" Bond-girls, who never ended up in bed with him in older films. Also, it's possible to assume that Bond and Tracy never had sex.
I don't remember feeling this way when I first saw this movie but parts of this actually made me feel dizzy with the frequent cutting. Aside from that, mixed feelings on the fight between Bond and Greene itself. I don't know if he really feels like the type to go head-to-head with Bond or is better suited to a mastermind role (like, say, Elliot Carver) but his crazy screaming and laughing as he just swings that axe like a madman are pretty great.
That's the point - he isn't a better fighter. He isn't a fighter. But Bond keeps having random explosions to deal with, while a person who is swinging can be dangerous even to a professional fighter. There are couple of seconds where they fight on more equal playing field and Bond demolishes him.

In a film that I positively dislike, that has to be one of the best moments. That’s what I find frustrating, these incredible moments buried in bad editing, poor storytelling and a generally dull film. Craig is absolutely phenomenal in this one, but he couldn’t save it for me personally. This moment is particularly reminiscent of Bond’s thoughts in the Live and Let Die novel, where he decides before the boat starts towing them through the water that if he can’t get both him and Solitaire free from the rope as they’re dragged along the reef, he’ll intentionally drown her to spare her the worse fate of being eaten alive by sharks. He’s given up nearly all hope, so he puts all his thought into sparing his companion from a horrifying death.

Ngl. Out of all of the 007 actors, Daniel Craig is the most badass bond I've ever watched. Not taking anything away from the past actors who have played the titular character but Craig's portrayal is phenomenal in my opinion. And this guy can fight. Got hands for days. Lol

Reminds me a bit of the Moonraker novel when Bond and Gala believe that a rocket is going to destroy London so he just says "Yeah, I'm gonna light up a cigarette under the Moonraker. Join me if you want". Or when Bond tries to hold his breath and somehow 'black out' or kill himself in order to spare the pain of being torn up by a chainsaw in Goldfinger.

BTW, in the last movies, as much I don't like Madeleine Swann character's, or Lea Seydoux in that role (I think she's a bad actress in English) Craig managed to be violent but with emotions, yet delivering fun Bond/British humor. Yes. There’s a lot of cuts. That is the entire point. Quantum is chaotic after Casino Royale. He is on a murderous rampage of revenge after Vesper. This chaos helps him build to be the incredible finished polished bond we see in Skyfall at the end, he’s turned into a killer, then a lover, then back to a killer this time with finesse and power.
No, but the amount of editing and the way this particular scene ends could never and should never do it justice. Remember too, this is the ending. Not the end-end but the end of the major plot.
This action scene was heavily shot and edited with shaky-cam/fast-quick cut editing in order to earn a PG-13 rating in the United States and a 12 Rating in the United Kingdom so either the most violent/brutal shots or bloodier grisly graphic parts don’t last extremely long
I actually prefer this kind of villain because they’re really out there, trying to control resources, trying to exploit people. I wish this movie hadn’t failed.

@Qasim Hussain Silva was a former Mi6 agent and would’ve had the same training as bond so I think it would’ve been cool if they fought. As for Le Chiffre , he wasn’t an agent or anything but he’s still a big imposing guy so despite him not being a match for bond he could’ve still put up a fight like Greene.
I never realized how many jump cuts were used in the action sequences. It does feel a little artificial. Buuuuuuuuut, I still like the movie as a whole.

I like to think Camille Montes is one of the more underrated Bond girls, mainly because she's more than just "Bond girl".

And yes this movie was badly written, badly directed. Action scenes made no sense. The story of the making of this mess of a movie is more interesting than the movie itself. It's the only recent Bond movie that has a story most people can't recall enough to explain. As for being broken by Vesper's death... They pulled that string to the last movie. BTW, in the last movies, as much I don't like Madeleine Swann character's, or Lea Seydoux in that role (I think she's a bad actress in English) Craig managed to be violent but with emotions, yet delivering fun Bond/British humor. So... It could have been done.

0:48 Greene lifting Elvis's arm up for him to point the gun. Is that cuz Elvis is wearing a neck brace (after Fields tripped him down stairs earlier in the film) or has Elvis never actually used a gun before?
I guess it was meant to show how Greene is bossing his henchman around and lets him do the fighting, while he flees.
Basically, Elvis could have been a funny henchman, but the movie did not delve into this.

Yes. There’s a lot of cuts. That is the entire point. Quantum is chaotic after Casino Royale. He is on a murderous rampage of revenge after Vesper.
This chaos helps him build to be the incredible finished polished bond we see in Skyfall at the end, he’s turned into a killer, then a lover, then back to a killer this time with finesse and power.

No, but the amount of editing and the way this particular scene ends could never and should never do it justice. Remember too, this is the ending. Not the end-end but the end of the major plot.

This action scene was heavily shot and edited with shaky-cam/fast-quick cut editing in order to earn a PG-13 rating in the United States and a 12 Rating in the United Kingdom so either the most violent/brutal shots or bloodier grisly graphic parts don’t last extremely long
I actually prefer this kind of villain because they’re really out there, trying to control resources, trying to exploit people. I wish this movie hadn’t failed.
Even though this is an okay film, this building they use is SO ultramodern and it fits the Craig era easily, because, 2000's. ;)

@@samuelmajka4804 Silva didn't fought bond hand to hand like this the closet they got was at the island but they didn't actually fought and in the hearing with m but again didn't actually fought the only villian who fought bond hand to hand was Greene
It’s funny because Greene is the least physically imposing villain in the Craig era. Bond should’ve fought Silva or Le Chiffre in my opinion.
@Qasim Hussain Silva was a former Mi6 agent and would’ve had the same training as bond so I think it would’ve been cool if they fought. As for Le Chiffre , he wasn’t an agent or anything but he’s still a big imposing guy so despite him not being a match for bond he could’ve still put up a fight like Greene.

Yikes this sequence was busy. Too many damn camera cuts; it gave me seizures. Now I need to watch Tony Jaa's "The Protector" to cleanse the palette.
They built the entire building of explodium.
I never realized how many jump cuts were used in the action sequences. It does feel a little artificial. Buuuuuuuuut, I still like the movie as a whole.
Underrated film
Halle Berry, Rosamund Pike and Olga Kurylenko ironically all starred in Bond spoofs because their actual Bond film was too bad! Halle Berry was in Kingsman 2 and Rosamund Pike and Olga Kurylenko were in Johnny English 2 and 3😅

This burning building reminds me a lot of Licence To Kill when James caused Sanchez's factory to burn and blow up by tossing the ignited gasoline cup into the big jar destroying the weak point.
