Her performance is SO real, you feel her fear, you feel her terror, from only her body language, expressions, and soft voice. That is exceptional, she could teach so much to so many in Hollywood just from that 5 minute master-class. Bravo Berenice Marlowe.

And the fact that between the first movie and the third, he's gotten really good at reading people better. I guess the experience with Vesper helped though.
Craig's Bond is definitely for adults, even with relationships with women. One of the most impressive, unique, and tragic Bond girls is Severine in Skyfall. We think this is going to be the typical stereotypical Bond flirt and seduction scene, but Bond takes his meeting with Severine in the Macau casino down a dark, realistic path. Such women are under the crushing control of someone...Silva in that case. Bond sees and calls out the tattoo on Severine's wrist that reveals she came from Macau's sex trade shops, and confronts her relationship of dependence on Silva. He's on a mission to get Silva, understands that Severine can get him to him, but also has compassion for the her. Rather than a romp, there is the tender shower scene on Silva's yacht, the Chimera. I love Connery, but Craig's Bond can be excellent. Superb performances and execution of the scene by all.
When Craig was first cast in the role of Bond I and almost everyone I knew who was a fan deplored the choice. Now when the topic arises I don't envision Bond as anyone other than Daniel Craig. Aside from Sean Connery, the rest are joke shop Bonds. Roger Moore was my previous favorite but the way he portrayed the character was, in retrospect, weak, and Pearce Brosnan is hard to imagine being a special agent of the calibre of a 007. He doesn't have the body for it and I could never see him fighting three men with the same level of violence and take him seriously. Craig lent extreme credence to the character with his stoney dark temperment and his physical fitness. That's the kind of fitness required of a man in his position.
@mattsterh7740 No, she was a trafficked child. The tattoo is a slave mark. The girl in "Sound of Freedom" gets one too. He alludes to her age at the time Silva got her - 12, 13. The ship is also, the Chimera. This is a reference to hybrid creatures that are being created in Demonic labs underground. Mythology is rife with these creatures as well.
And paired with Craig in the midnight blue Tom Ford tux, throwback batwing bow tie, and mother of pearl studs and cuff links, they are superbly styled.

Wonderful acting by Marlohe in my opinion. She’s underrated as one of the most beautiful Bond girls. She probably would rate much higher on some lists had she not had so little screen time in the film.
The genius of this scene, to me anyway, is the line from Bond “Someone usually dies” and then it turns out that she’s the one who dies. It’s tragic, subtle foreshadowing.
One of my very favourite scenes involving a "Bond Woman". The playout between the two is mesmerising as is Severine herself. Lush and detailed, just draws you in. Would loved to have seen more of her character. She's gorgeous "If you like that sort of thing" Liked Moneypennys interaction with Bond too during the whole scene. Delightful!
A phenomenal actress in an exceptionally well written and directed scene. It's strange how often you see a version of this and it doesn't quite sell as true and all those versions are rendered terrible when you see it done absolutely perfectly.
A really great scene. This incredibly beautiful and yet tragic character is portrayed so beautifully by Bérénice Marlohe....Danial Craig's cold lizard eyes and Bond's complex motives throw smoke and fire into the mix. For me, this scene emphasizes how much under control Severine was by her master. From the way she dressed and carried herself: you get the first impression that she's assertive and a classic femme fatale, only out for herself, all the way up to the hair: so elegant, not a single strain of hair out of place. As Bond says about her pretending to be what she's not, she's completely under orders even forced to seem as composed as her tight backless dress and classic combed hair; in reality she's shaking with fear on the inside.
I love Bond during the fight, like 5:30, with the turn and point, like 'Oh yeah, wasn't there more than 1?" Such good comedy. Severine is stunning, her whole acting conveys everything, fear, desire and longing for freedom
Second only to Vesper among Craig’s Bond girls. She deserved a bigger role, this was the most memorable scene in the entire film. That beaming but fragile smile cuts through you

Excellent setting, outstanding dialogue, a sky of champagne, an earful of impressions.
A place for everyone and everyone in their place.
Really clever little nod of respect to Roger Moore's Bond jumping the crocodiles in Live & Let Die
One would argue Oliver...that it was not a nod of respect, but a smirk of...disrespect. Ponder that as I puff on my tobacco...🧐
@@effortlessawareness8778 I think you're puffing on something else there.
These are some of the best action movies in cinema history. Thank God for Daniel Craig. He was born for this role.
Gosh this lady took smoking a cigarette to another level, she's so composed. it's like I want this kind of woman.
That tux alone is beautiful.
Excuse my words bro, fuck yes, that a badass suit.
Certanly better than that Table Cloth you’re wearing Imran. You Look like a Penguin about to waddle back to the Antarctic. Jeezus F*In Christ. My guess is you don’t have a subscription to GQ. You may want to seriously consider getting one... Call it a Christmas Gift to yourself. You will thank me later.
@@effortlessawareness8778 Who are you? And the one I'm wearing just so happens to be Tom Ford too. The same Skyfall one that's worn here in this video too might I add. At least I can pull it off, clearly. Can you? I guess not.
I truly felt sad and disappointed when they ended her time so early in this movie. She was stellar in her role!
Agreed she should have at least lasted untill the Skyfall mansion but the focus was M
A truly amazing Bond girl, a shame her time was cut way too short.
I love Bond during the fight, like 5:30, with the turn and point, like 'Oh yeah, wasn't there more than 1?" Such good comedy.
Severine is stunning, her whole acting conveys everything, fear, desire and longing for freedom
Bond is a grand master in fighting without ruining his suits
As an actress, she certainly earned her salary and then some with this scene. Memorable.
Second only to Vesper among Craig’s Bond girls. She deserved a bigger role, this was the most memorable scene in the entire film. That beaming but fragile smile cuts through you
"Someone usually dies" was 10/10 line
Me: My god, James. What did just happen here?
James Bond: The circle of life.
At 05:58, i laugh so hard when Bond stops and points at the Komodo Dragon like saying: "Dude, wait, look at that"
Same here, I laughed hard as well.
PO BON AFETATO IL BUSHER
Exactly 😂😂😂😂
6:03 Bond expression
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
But what about his special gun? The bad guy took it, to be eaten by the Komodo Dragon ...and Bond never got to use it? Q is gonna be pissed!
Masterclass in scriptwriting. Amazing acting. I just wish the audio department didn't make it so hard to hear what they were talking about.
Phenomenal acting by this woman. Unbelievably good.
i was obsessed with her and that dress for a while
I think im in love with this actress she straight killed this scene and is beautiful as hell
I wish she got more roles. She was amazing both here and in Twin Peaks, with very little material. Top-notch.
When he says...Bond..James bond, I'm like dang bro he nailed it!! Sends chills down my spine.
My Goodness her performance! This back and fourth was so expertly written
Bérénice Marlohe played Sévérine. Very talented and stunning. I really hated seeing her die in this movie.
And Naomie Harris is my favorite Moneypenny in the whole series. She’s the first one to demonstrate her field agent skills, as a bad ass deadly MI6 agent, but not quite 00 material. And she’s way hot too.
This scene and the scene on the train with Vesper in Casion Royale are the best of the Craig Bond. Both have superb writing and acting.
He's got the charisma to impress ladies... 😂😂
MI5 spends millions keeping him like that.

I think "Someone usually dies" would be a great title for a Bond film.
1:35 - I like how you stares intently at the bartender. I imagine he's having a flashback to his little scare in Montenegro.
One the most beaultiful woman i've ever saw in my life. Superb acting too, one of the best bond girls in all time
Cheers🥃
From one gentleman to another, You have good taste
Daniel Craig was a magnificent James Bond.
Severine and Tracy (Diana Rigg) are my most favorite Bond girls. They are both very beautiful and talented.
Petition to add (In loving memory of Sean Connery 1930-2020) at the end of no time to die right before the credits roll
and Moore
They will be missed. 2 legendary 00s
Hell yes!
Only if we can also add RIP Pierce Brosnan's figure as well
