Have you hosted an afternoon tea and provided your guests with some special little gift or favor to remember the occasion? Have you been a guest, perhaps, and the host or hostess gave you a little favor? Let me know in the comments below what you think is a nice idea for tea guests!

    Hi Sonya 😊
I love all of your ideas! They are perfect and gave me some ideas also. I’m thinking of using several of your suggestions for a sweet little gift bag for guests as well.
I love your ideas, thank you so much for sharing them with us!❤

Thank you for these gift/favor ideas. I’m so glad I found your channel. I just got back from London and fell in love with afternoon tea. I went to Fortnum and Mason and found several good teas. Now I’m learning as much as I can so I can host my first tea party. I’m trying recipes for a Victorian Sponge cake and a Battenburg cake -wish me luck. One more thing- Thanks for the clotted cream video.

You are very welcome! Fortnum and Mason’s is one of my favorite places for tea. All the very best for a wonderful tea party. I’d love to hear how it goes! 😊✨

A hobby of mine is making jams and jellies and marmala. And if I’m going to a party, I always bring a basket of different varieties of the jams and jellies I make. And Christmas I bring a big basket to every gathering and ask people to help themselves.
To keep the cost down, I buy all of my jelly jars at yard sales and then I just buy new lids.
I also asked my friends and family to bring the empty jelly jars back to the parties. That way it makes it even easier for me to make the jam every year.
I also thoroughly enjoy using all different kinds of jelly jars. You’d be amazed at the different kinds there are everywhere from a full pint all the way down to an ounce.
I am thoroughly enjoying your channel. I now drink at least a cup of tea if not too every day. I had forgotten how much I enjoy tea. Thank you for helping me. Remember that small luxury in the day. Being able to stop make a cup of tea and then simply enjoy , the aroma, the warmth and flavor of the tea I choose that day.

I started picking fruit and making jams because my daughter enjoyed picking fruit so much. I would take her as a toddler early in the morning in the spring and go pick strawberries. By the time I finish picking all the fruit I needed my little girl look like she was a strawberry herself because her hands were all covered in juice and so was her face. It was so cute. And just making strawberry and blueberry to one year I think we made eight different varieties.
I am thoroughly enjoying your channel and I wish you all the best luck with it. Kathy.

@@kathybrandt6060 my mom made jelly from grapes we had from a wonderful grapevine growing on our front porch. It was so good but I never developed the skill. I admire you for it! And thank you for your best wishes!

I would give fridge magnets with the name of my channel on them.😁😁 The little jars of jam are a good idea. When empty they come in very handy for putting small amounts of ingredients in, such as mixed spice or ground ginger.
I love the fan. Japanese and Chinese designs are my favourites.❤ You could also give a round tin of boiled sweets that you brought back from England. They have lovely colourful designs on them.
I would call the tea caddy a drip tray. A tea caddy is the tin you keep tea in.
I watched a short from British Pathé last week which was all about a man called Oswald Beard who lived on tea alone. Tea with milk and sugar was his only food. He drank 60 or more cups of tea a day. It's called 'Tea Drinker (1951) if you want to look it up.

Sixty cups a day? Oh I must find that! Yes, tea caddy - I know about the tin and earlier wooden boxes called caddies. For some reason, it has become a name for the drip tray, here. I have also seen the little tray called a tea bag holder. I probably should have called it that to lessen the confusion! 😉✨

I buy my guests favorite Cinnamon Orange Spice tea from a shop in NYC, next day delivery. I have been gifting 6 to 8 cups worth and some paper bags to my guests for about ten years. This year, I plan to assemble a recipe booklet for my guests….hoping they will decide to host their own party. 🤔. Often, they get to take home extra foods, as well.

4:14 where to get the tea strainer? So many are too heavy, poorly made, made in China, rust, do a poor job at straining, etc.

Many tea companies that sell tea implements offer them, and of course there is always Amazon. I think the ones with the mesh style of strainer, do the best job. I've never had one rust.
