I have a 2005 also ..last week I had to replace a burnt wire that was causing a lot of electrical issues ... Other than that just simple stuff has being changed ... Pulleys ... Shock absorber and headlight ballast that's it I have had it for 4 years already all I can say is I don't know if I will have a better car in my life
Man I feel the same way, I’ve had mine for 4 and a half years and one engine rebuild (my fault the old one blew) but other than that just oil changes and a replacing my starter she has been pretty amazing.. I haven’t even had to touch my AC.. only thing rn is a power steering fluid leak but no biggie
Hah, can confirm: have had a 2008 for a year and a half, and I already got problem 1, 2, 3 and 4... not the 5, but probably just because I have a custom rear bumper. Let me add to the list the finicky fobs being recognized only when the car feels like it, the squeaky targa roof, the lever getting stuck in P, turn lights regularly going out, a battery that needs to be changed every year, and the radio volume knob unable to function properly every time And yet, after 15.000 miles, two road trips and three track days, I'm still in love with it. Terrific car. EDIT: And remember guys: pin the harmonic balancer, the achilles' heel of the otherwise majestic LS3. You don't really want to leave it wobbling around
Hey bro that squeaky targa roof was an easy fix... remove the roof and put Vaseline on the little prongs that stick out and in the spot where the prongs go into roof... that one drove me crazy hahaha... but yep did the balancer on mine when installing the cam/ other goodies
I think the thing you said about the leaves in the paint might just be because of the color. I have a yellow mustang and I kind of feel like that too with my car.
Man I bought a c6 corvette literally yesterday and my biggest pet peav about it is the door handles😂 it’s like sometimes they will work instantly and other times I have to hold it 3-4 different tries to get it to open but otherwise love the car
Just wait! 1. Shifter will stop coming out of park! 2. Raw fuel smell inside. Known defect and re-designed but no RECALL so you get to pay $2500 to repair it!
My driver door switch it's brand new and even though it open just if I press unlock on the fob ...what can be this issue ? It doesn't bother me at all but would like to fix it
@@Thatsnapchatyellowc6 hey brother thanks a lot for responding well it has a brand new battery ...passenger door opens quick ...I can install a new battery on the fob and try but I don't think that's the problem ...once again buddy thanks for responding greetings from miami fl
Ur BackLights : if u want, u could seal ur backlights with color-less (that glass like shine through stuff) silicone. Press it with a silicone-gun around the gap, finish it with going around the fresh sealing and merge it tied in between the gap with ur clean finger-tip, til u almost can't see the application, when u look at it. Never mind, if u mess it up, after the silicone dried, u can pull it off and try again. U have to do pretty much the same thing, if u take off the frontLight housing, if u really want to clean them up. !
I have 08 C6 convertible. No problems. But fob. So bought new fobs everything ok now. I also got morimotos lights front and rear love it. Never getting rid of my classic car.
I have sap or bird dropping stains on mine like you mentioned and my headlights need to be buffed out. Low tire pressure on driver side front occasionally as well.
Build up of dirt at tail lights has somewhat to do with the fact your running no cats so the rear bumper is always going to stay dirty. Headlight hazing is coming and lens needs replaced. That’s why I went with Moromotio. I hear you about the TPS and electronic door handles.
Hey awesome video dude, I'm a subscriber. I need help 2005 c6, sometimes I can't get the interior door unlock buttons to work, other than that no problems ever. Thanks
It’s probably not the switch.. your door latch motor is probably going out, that is what happened to mine right after I got the car.. I believe is was around $100 at the time for another motor but it is easy to replace
I wonder myself, how do dust particles get over time into the C6 head-Lamps, ... it's possible that it be a common thing that there is moister in the head-Lamp, it's supposed to disappear after a couple of hours use. Yeah, it'LL quite take some time to take them head-Lamps off, and than take them apart, but can be done.
Yeah I have seen a few videos of people taking the headlight out to restore.. most of them say its such a headache they would rather just spend the money on new though lol
@@Thatsnapchatyellowc6 Doesn't matter to me, and if it takes two or even 3 days, it is not all work anyway, some things take time to dry and what not. With my car the battery of the front TPS Left didn't work no more, so I changed them both in da front when I got new front-tires. The car warned me, that it wouldn't go faster than 65, but no problem I still could go 90mph. Another hint, get ur new TPS in the tire-shop for about 45 bucks, Corvette takes 180$ just for one new TPS-sensor.
Luckily just about everything you named is an easy fix. My biggest grip is the targa top. The squeaking is super annoying and the clear tops are notorious for stress cracks. Again though... those are easy fixes as well. Dielectric grease and just wrap the top if it looks too bad. However, I have never owned a car with so many quirks!
Haha they are for sure quirky cars but good at what they do.. which is go fast hahaha... and yeah I have to put grease on the fittings for my top every so often!
The fiberglass has nothing to do with the paint. Also, it's not fiberglass: it's SMC with (on some panels) glass filler. The Corvette hasn't been real "fiberglass" for many decades.
fuel sending unit is a huge pain in the ass in mine my fuel guage doesnt work service fuel system flashes on the screen and check engine light is on there is nothing wrong with the car or anything but fuel always reads empty even when its full there is no point changing the sending unit till the fuel pumps go so i just live with it i do hate it though and good ol gm know this issue and wont do anything about it

ah man that sucks, I know that has to be aggravating!
I believe all GM cars have a soft clear coat. They can get scratches very easily.
A lot of them do for sure.. not all though.. my grandpaws Bonneville has glass headlights
That’s so true I feel like no matter what I do I can’t keep my c6 paint from getting scratched or messed up

Aside from the 'soft paint fiberglass I dont like the way the tires kinda turn and the car turns'

I hear ya haha, and in my experience I enjoy the handling pretty good to be a base model Vette
My wife’s headlights have gotten hazy and saggy after time too!! 😂😂😂😂
