    Wow man just wow. She is my biggest role model. Some might say she is a scientist as usual. But the matter of fact is, she fought with patriarchial society and became one of the greatest mind of science, got two nobels in two fields in that time when women had to suffer for mere voting rights. She was even died to radioactive exposure, that proves how much she was determined and passionate for science, never cared for her own life, so she was one kind of martyr in the name science. Hail to Marie Curie, hail to her courage, hail to her passion, hail to her determination.🙏

      She actually died from Xray exposure not radioactivity. They tested her body and it wasn't radioactive enough to have killed her. However; the amount of Xrays she took, sadly without any lead protection, during WW1 to help wounded soldiers made her sick and killed her way too early.

    I remember doing research into the era of radium. A time where radium was placed into everything and even encouraged to consume because people thought it would purify and cleanse you. And of course you also had the famous radium girls who painted clock dials with radium and would often lick the brush tips to keep it a fine-point which very tragically caused the demise of all but one, the one girl who thought it was gross to lick a brush tip covered in radium. I was absolutely fascinated researching this time period so I can't believe they're making a movie on it.

      @theguardian3431 4 роки тому +4

      @@Lolinkassi I get where you're coming from in that sense. However, when it comes to portraying a role, the paramount consideration should always be acting ability. Being of the same nationality or coming from the same region as the character being portrayed isn't and shouldn't be a high priority. Sure, it would be a bonus. However, film makers would be drastically limited in their options if nationality was a primary consideration. On the business side, you must also factor in an actor's ability to attract an audience.
      Think about it this way, if you were making a movie about pirates from Somalia, it would probably be very difficult to get high caliber actors to star in the lead roles. However, a Chadwick Boseman or Michael B. Jordan would probably fill that role quite well. They would also put butts in seats to be able to financially justify making the film.
