I was thinking the brand new mounts would've made them dead even but it was probably a drivers race. Maybe switching drivers or doing 3 races might have made a difference but these guys are the absolute best at what they do.
Couldn't agree more! 👍
The fact that the 96 was pulling on the 98 plus is a big deal. The 98+ normally pulled pretty hard up top on the 96
Love that fwd wheel spin 🤦🏽♂️
The white colour is beathiful
The main difference was tire & wheel size guys. The 98 specs have 16 inch wheels which are heavier. Can affect acceleration and speed.
Also gear ratio in the each transmission were different I believe.
@@CyberTerrorism spec 98 has shorter 1-2-3 and longer 4-5 which shows itself here
@@lordoftheriffs79 yeah added that in my comment
Gear ratios is the more significant thing.
The good old days when Honda still make good sport cars.:..
They still make the Civic Type R
@@DC2_Danny in my opinion the new Civic Type R is kinda ugly and too big.
I have a 17 ILX A-spec…..the last generation of non turbo vtec engines. I love my k24 😊
Do you have the full version of this video?
98' shifted too early into 4th i guess
I mean these cars were never about straight line speed but great handling
Faster
How is the older one fater
The purpose with the video is to show that older cars can be just as fast as newer with some minor adjustments as shown in the video.
The difference were the gears. 98's 1st, 2nd, 3rd gears are shorter making 4th and 5th longer.Thats how the 96 was able to close in on top and pass. 96 gears are more evenly spread, but 98's were good on the track keeping it in vtec during low/mid cornering speeds
@@TheRoadToGM 100%
@@TheRoadToGM not really. It was the changes made to the car. Have you not seen other 96vs98 videos by best motoring? The 98 wipes the floor with the 96 and easy.
im from indonesia 🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩
Ah yes, 2 years of development down the drain
Lol
