The t1v2 standard layout with a c14s is my dream, my most recent build from some 18 months ago or so was in an Ncase M1 because I was unable to find the T1 in stock and ran out of time, I absolutely love the M1, its great, I use a c14s with it, but damn I really just wanted a t1 and the v2 seems to fix a lot of the tiny issues I had with its predecessor. Namely the reliance of a riser cable, and sandwich layout along with the side panel material.
Indeed it is! It has also been my dream to have a case with size of a T1 but with standard layout, since nowadays I only prefer air-cooled setup but low profile coolers won't really cut it. Used to do watercooled AIO build in the FormD T1 v1.1, but only a few months later decided to do aircooled build instead for the sake of simplicity. At first I thought my EVGA 3070 XC3 Ultra gonna fit well in the T1 v1.1 in 2-slot mode since I do plan on utilizing the max 70mm cooler height in that particular mode but seeing online on how there is some clearance issue (the XC3 Ultra is technically 2.2 slot card lol) I got back to the Ncase M1 with a tower cooler (Thermalright SS135) I've placed my order on the T1-R (reference kit) for the v2, now just need to wait somewhere end of July/Aug for the shipment. planning to build it with a Thermalright SS110 tower cooler
@@cruz1n494 I ordered mine during the interest check period a few months ago, and they only opened a small window for those with orders under the said interest check to confirm so they can finalize it. there has been no real update so far, but from previous posts in Reddit says that they are currently pushing for the pre-orders now, and the only chance to order it after this is when they finally open up for public orders
Impressive for sure. As someone with some machining and design experience, this is one of the only cases I have seen which actually justifies it's premium price with the CNC machining. Flat packed, able to be assembled and disassembled with the parts having indexed mating surfaces is very much a detail oriented machining process and does cost a lot to do well. Very, very different to cutting out a flat plate and then using screws to align everything (much, much too common in 'premium' cases IMHO). After shipping and import fees is it worth double the price of an A4-H2O? Personal and harder question to answer, but I can at least see why it costs more in this case.
FWIW - A 'used' T1 will probably still sell for a substantial amount, years from now. The Zaber Sentry for example, is still going for near retail prices, used. To be fair, the Sentry is a very limited and quite rare case. My current 6yo build is in a Sentry and the upcoming replacement is going to be in the T1 I ordered last week. Stoked!
As a T1V1 owner I would really appreciate you doing a dual rad build in this new version. I would really like to liquid cool my GFX but it is simply too difficult to get enough radiator without it being jenk.
Very clean review! Something I noticed in your review was your mentioning of the fan/rad brackets beeing a bit off. The long bracket is for fans only or a fan over the MB and 120+fan over the psu, while the small brackets are for 240mm rads. Using the small brackets allows you to not have the rad mounted with screws ruining the exterior design.
@@MachinesMore for the V1.1 with TX240 and slim fans the long rails didn't work out, but maybe they now have the mounting points a bit lower. Usually the longer bracket is designed in a way you can comfortably fit a 30mm thick AIO rad above and a fan below (above the PSU).
Really hope to see dual rad custom loop content in the future! That's my plan for it when mine eventually ship. (V1 required heavy modding for second rad that was beyond my skill level.) PS. Is the shorter screw for slim fan provided in the case? I remember having to source my own for V1.
Watched every second of this review and this just makes me want to upgrade my v1.1 even more. Thank you for sharing great content about this awesome case that I love!
Where can I buy this case? Is FormD already selling it? It is unbelievable that such a small case (less than 11 liters) can support a 280mm radiator. I was looking for a Lian Li Dan Cases A4-H20, but after I saw the T1 V2 Sandwich I was impressed.
No idea why the PSU isn't oriented cables down and slightly higher but custom cables seem a huge need especially for anyone going for this modular case
Under the PSU looks like there is enough space to put some SSD maybe. And for sure I would put some slim (15mm) 120MM fan on the side panel above the CPU as an intake for even better cooling.
The issue I have found with putting a second rad in is that you are only able to put one slim fan in that rad even in single slot mode for the gpu. The PSU is too close to the side rad even when using a 20mm thick rad.
the holes in the rear really stop me from buying this case. i dunno, the gpu should just take the entire space and „fill“ the rear area next to the mobo io completely, need to see if a three slot card does that
I had the firsts version of this case and I loved it and hated it. one it looks amazing but two the cable management was terrible because the sides bulged, and it was annoying with the cables touching the fans blades. three finding the right size radiator and it needs magnets to hold the top and sides. I'm currently using the Jonsplus i100 pro and that has plenty of space.
The handle accessory kit is an option- it’s a Peak Design style handle. I did attach it to the top for a quick shot but that isn’t where it’s supposed to go. I’ll show a few more deets in the next vid.
I would like to see the T1 v2 Reference design and how they work since it shares most of the parts wi the Sandwich layout and it didn't need a riser cable.
Hey Ryan, yes, with caution. One, the pump block is 55mm, so if you setup for 58mm of CPU clearance, your GPU max is about 55mm. Next is the rad/fan combo. Asetek units often have these 30mm rads so that means the fit under the motherboard side even with a slim fan is going to be tight, on the PSU side you're fine with a 25mm fan like I used. It should work but expect the mobo side fan to basically touch the tray. IIRC the Noctua slims are closer to 17mm.
Just to keep the data concise I’m only comparing against sandwiches here, and also I think it’s a bit misleading when we include a case that large. The vented NR200 is a bit better than the A4-H2O, in general.
@@MachinesMore I get the thinking behind your decision, but it'd be convenient for those who are wanting to compare across broader range of SFF and not just sandwich cases to get a feel of what the size difference trade off is to performance. The reason is for direct comparison between all the cases tested recently and previously. At some point I will re-benchmark the important cases but a CPU's power draw is power draw, whether it's Zen 1 or 3, the point just to give a fair thermal comparison here and a database of thermal performance between many cases.

The top countersunk holes for the radiator is a non-issue, the rad should be able to be mounted internally with the half size fan bracket, just like it was in the 1.1.
