    I have the exact same model and I agree it is very well built and sturdy. I have loved mine so far, congrats on the new spreader - new lawn toys are always fun!

    Spyker made a John Deer product that was on sale from Lowe’s for $150 that I jumped on. It has served me well for 3 + years

      Yea it’s the P20. I have that model and the only problem I have is that it throws heavily to the left side. It also leaves a lot of material in the hopper so I have to keep bumping it because the agitator is not that useful for that last 1 or 2 pounds of product.. spykers are built to last but they do have some design flaws that I wish they would improve

    Have Scott's Elite spreader and I love it. My Lowes they sell them for $149. When I was looking them store manager came up to me and said I have one in damage open box. I was just gonna through it away. He goes I will sell it to for $25. Took the deal. All it was missing was cotter pins for the wheels. Right place at right time.

      I got an scott elite but for 100$ brand new it ok, jus got a spyker use for 80$ and man the equality is unbelievable

      @@kleco1000 Yeah, that's why I made the jump. Cost a lot more, but I think it is worth it.

    If that is the Spyker spreader model SPY50L-1P then I would say that your correct from a servicing/repair perspective as the hopper is a much easier swap out, as well as the gearbox... Spyker still sells complete axle assemblies for it which includes the spinner tray so to swap out the complete axle assembly is a 10 minute procedure and can be done in the field with very minimal downtime... In my personal opinion I prefer the Spyker spreader model S40 5020 as its not as top heavy so less chance of spillage (with fertilizer spillage and excess nitrogen will burn a lawn almost instantly, and is also wasted product) as well as it is smaller and gets into much tighter areas, for example where narrow transitions from a residential front yard to a back yard are a challenge, and it is a very robust unit that will do the job just as well as any other unit pound for pound! In 30+ temperatures this smaller unit makes a less exhausting day after putting it up and down into a truck as well!😂

    Looking good I did 9-0-1, humic12 and air8 last week just to try and wake my fescue/kbg lawn and it really perked up. I'll be putting flagship down for my next application.

      @@TheLawnShark most definitely I didn't want to blast the yard with a high nitrogen app coming right out of winter.

    Good for putting a dusting of sand every 2 weeks or so

    Does the yard mastery fertilizer flow smoothly out of this spreader? I have an Earthway and I'm constantly having issues where the material stops flowing. I have to open and close the hopper a few times to get it going again. I'm looking for an upgrade.

      @TheLawnShark  10 місяців тому +1

      Overall it is smooth, but the varying particle sizes does make it less smooth when I start getting to the bottom of the hopper. But that is a fertilizer quirk and not an issue with the Spyker.

    Why did you decide to go with this instead of the Lesco? I'm at the crossroad choosing between the two

    I know its a great spreader and it can even spread sand for leveling. I just can't justify the price for my 1700 sq ft. My goal this season is to not spend any more money on my lawn. Fertilize, water and mow all of which I already have. #GOYANKEES 👍💚🦸

    • @TheLawnShark
      @TheLawnShark  Рік тому

      Totally agree! I don't want to spend much money, but I am willing to upgrade when things break. This spreader fell into that case. #GoYankee indeed!!!
