- If they are only changing three bins at a time, can I compete with 20 to 25 people and still come away with some wins?
YOU KNOW THAT I CAN!

AND...for anyone who has actually read to the bottom of the description, here's a link to the book I wrote for Melody way back on our 25th wedding anniversary. It isn't reselling related, but it's definitely about the two of us. It is light-hearted and a SUPER easy read. More fun than educational.
How To Be Married Forever: www.amazon.com...
Ok I say learn something every day. Today I learned how those buttons and clips work. I've seen them and never knew. Wow.
They used them on uniforms a lot. You'll see something similar on vintage scout uniforms. It allowed professional laundering without breaking buttons. And broken buttons could be very easily replaced
I think that dress is a waitress uniform. Candy stripers would be red & white. Think Alice at Mels Diner.
I had "candy Striper" uniforms on my brain. I'm now pretty sure it is a Red Cross uniform. It's not impossible that it was a waitress uniform, but I found some Red Cross ones that are really, really similar.
I got a big kick out of the beginning - Since I have so much stuff already-lets head to the bins-or however you said it. I'm retiring June 30. My husband and I love to thrift shop-so we are hoping to make a business out of it when I retire. Can't wait until I have all day to get things organized, photo's taken and get stuff listed. We've got A LOT of stuff that needs to be "processed" but I still want to go thrifting for more! I know you are SO Busy with what you already do, but hopefully sometime you can do regular "what sold" videos as well. I really enjoy watching those on other channels. I am grateful though for all the helpful information that you pass on in your videos! Happy Thrifting!
I will try a What Sold video. I promise, getting a suggestion for a wanted video is NEVER going to hurt my feelings. :-)
I love the BINS! The store in my area does 6 bins at a time. I always find good stuff
6 bins at a time spreads you out a little bit. I like that much more.
Wow! That ski suit! Wow
I need to love some weight so I can wear it. Not even to go skiing...just back to the bins so people will stay away from me.
@@TheChaChingKing please do this! Hahaha. You should show up in your tattoo sleeves and a Cutoff 👕
So nice the way they do shoes at your bins. Ours are scattered in any bin and never in pairs...you have to hunt the whole place hoping to find a match.
It depends on who the manager is. Right now, they are tied together. not that long ago...utter mayhem.
I just sold a woman’s 1980s ski suit for maybe $130! It was hot pink though!
Awesome! This is a good one, so who knows
I would avoid heavily starched items. I worked on a dry cleaner/laundry for 10 years and the starch tends to break down fibers so the clothes end up with dry rot.
Good to know. I know I've had zero luck with that heavy, heavy starch
Wow! Resell value for the nurse uniform is great! Just learned something new!
Some of them can be very, very good.
Love the “Candy Stripe” uniform! My first time thrifting was at a Hospital thrift store that I discovered because I volunteered after school at the Hospital. (Still my favorite thrift) We wore pink & white striped aprons 💕
One of my favorite thrifts of all time was at the bins. They wheeled out a bin FULL of vintage 60's candy striper outfits. Dresses, aprons and matching hats. About 75% of them were new old stock. And NO ONE else wanted them. I picked up about 20 pounds of them. Despite pricing them super high, I've sold almost all of them. One of my favorite pick ups of all time.
@@TheChaChingKing wow that was awesome. You were there at the right time! Don't tell anyone there about the old stuff. Keep that in your pocket.
That Alpaca sweater and Loft jumpsuit are great!
I love alpaca stuff when I can find it
Love the thumbnail😍🤩
I should get real sleeves. 😀
That would be a experience for sure and a journey
Must be still good. At mine the same customers there every day and filling up a UHaul truck lol.
Lol...you're not wrong!
It is called Cowboy Starched. It is a very good thing. It is done on rodeo clothes and those clothes go for good money.
I had not heard that term! Super cool. Thank you for posting that!
@@TheChaChingKing It is a starching process developed in Texas for rodeo clothes. When a cowboy brushes the dirt off their pants and come out looking sharp, that's why.
Keep sharing those brands!…Love to learn!…It makes us better pickers. I can spot bread and butter “stuff” but I’m working to try to increase my average sale price so I can feel like I’m making some money when I hear that “cha ching”!
We are always trying to expand our brand knowledge, too. There's SO much to learn!
My Cha Ching notification disappeared. I miss it! Any ideas on how to get it back?
Kat the Nurse Flipper said the same happened to hers.
Thanks! 😊
I really enjoy your videos!!!! 🤗♥️🙏🏼
Thank you so much!
Good haul. Love the old uniform!
The old uniform is one of my favorite finds
GW has been pricing high in the retail locations, so I would be looking for tagged items with high price point. Our GW had men's football cleats size 18 and 19 but they wanted $30 per pair. It took about 2 months, but they showed up at our bins store. Sadly they had separated the shoes so we only found one of each and left them behind. We would have gladly paid $10-15 in the regular store if they had been more sensible. As it stands, the shoes are probably in a landfill.
If they could just put a rubber band around each pair of shoes so it's not an Easter egg hunt.
That's a really good point. I honestly hadn't thought of that
@@xfilesmanson they attempt to at our location, but with the intitial vulture frenzy with new bins the shoes get seperated. I walk around with a huge pile of singles until I am leaving. 99%, of the time I can make several pair by looking throught shopper discards.
Another great video! I love what sold’s
Melody wants me to do one, too.
Doesn't make sense for them to bring so few bins out. With that many people waiting it just asking for a hectic mess.
No doubt. The people there today were all nice. But it isn't always that way.
The Waco bins seemed more mannerly than in Austin.
They can be.
Looks like Goodwill is good for you... I went to Goodwill Yesterday and it was a HUGE bust. Maybe I just missed something? Check my video from today if you get a chance and let me know what I missed. 😊
It was OK. I usually do better out in the wild.
I'll be in Temple setting up for my free garage sale the next few days. But I'll check it out as soon as I'm home!
Living in Robinson, I always wondered what the Waco bids would be like. Seems a little disappointing.
It can be. But, there are times that it's amazing. It was much better when they brought out more bins at once.
How do I freshen up wool pants from a ex smoker? Loving the scenery shots and all.
Smoke on wool is tough. You can try and have it cleaned. I use Vodka in a spray bottle to get rid of musty smells. You can also seal it in a tub with a deodorizer. But smoke soaks into wool. It can be hard to get out.
Thanks for the kind words!
It looks like some Midway HS kids donated his baseball socks.
You're probably right. We see LOTS of Midway stuff at these bins.
How do you know which goodwills have the bins? I went to ours here in College Station and it seems to only be one of their retail locations. I also wanted to thank you for all the great info you give us, I just recently got interested in the resale business myself and I have already learned a ton of useful info watching your videos!
You can actually search Goodwill Outlet Store Locations on Google fairly easily.
Thank you so much for the kind words!
😎👍
Thank you my friend!
You said they made an announcement not to touch the bins, but aren't you touching the bins? I guess I am not understanding "the bins".
You can't touch the bins while they are putting them in place. They tell you when you can start. Then, you can touch the bins. It's just a way of trying to slow down the mayhem.
How often do you go sourcing and how many stores do you visit in a day while sourcing?
I don't source at stores often. I'm more of a garage sales, estate sales, private picks, and storage lockers guy.
I went to the Waco bins about a month ago. It was the first time I'd ever been to the bins. I wanted to just check it out and see what it was like, but I wound up leaving with a huge bag of clothing. Lol I wasn't very impressed with their shoe selection though. It was nice that it was smaller than some of the other bins that I've seen other resellers go to.
Waco can be amazing! When they would bring out 6 at a time and things were rolling...it was awesome. It's pretty tough like this.
Is that a blue gremlin lamp?
Behind me in my office? It's actually a piggy bank lamp. I had no reason to keep it...except that I love it.
yes! And I confess I have an ET candle I have for no reason other than it makes me smile.
Bahahahaha "since I have more stuff than I've ever owned in my life.... let's go shopping!" Also. When is the free yardsale?
This Saturday!
I’m new to reselling. Is there a certain day Goodwill puts out their blue bins? Or is it daily? I’ve been to the one in Huntsville, Willis and Conroe and didn’t see any blue bins.
The blue bins are only at the Goodwill outlets. I don't think those cities you've mentioned have one. Round Rock has one. I know there's at least one in Austin. There's one in Ft Worth and a smaller one in Waco. Houston has one, too
I haven't been brave enough to go to bins yet. Have you been to the bins in Fort Worth? 👍
I have. Ft Worth is more competitive. There are more aggressive people. But they change out the bins on a far more regular basis
Where can I buy some of your junk? Like name of your eBay store?

That should be a link to one of the t-shirts. You can see the other merch I have listing by clicking on the other items.
Thanks!
Nice pick ups!💕🦩
THANK YOU!
