Frame times on Bazzite are significantly better but Windows still slightly better performance. If only driver level frame gen like AMFM 2 was available on Bazzite or Lossless scaling worked on Bazzite OS. 😔
ChimeraOS clips show battery below 100% vs the other two which show battery at 100%. I don’t think this is a fair comparison as the system will adjust power output for its integrated APU (GPU/CPU) even if you have it plugged into the charger when the battery isn’t fully charged. These results are flawed and cannot be used as a fair comparison when pinning Windows 11 and BazziteOS against ChimeraOS. Battery needs to be 100% for all devices and all devices plugged into the charger with the exact same vram and power settings, no exceptions.
If windows had dedicated handheld mode it's will be so good plus working pause and suspend power but it just not there yet so bazzite for me until window implants those features

You should definitely try minecraft Java on these operating systems. Me personally I get a huge boost there on Linux. Way more stable 60+ fps on my bad laptop. This video is very accurate though, a lot of games on Linux you're not gonna see a huge improvement, especially if it's built windows first.
This comparison is wrong mate because ChimeraOS runs without any power control by default. You must manualy install "Decky" plugin and for example "PowerControl" plugin (TDP, CPU clock & cores and fans profiles). Than You can unlock full potential of ROG Ally under control of ChimeraOS. After this you get similar performance.
@@cloud1090901 if you have the free time and energy. Most times I just want to turn my game on and play. Nowadays if a game requires me more than 5-10 mins of troubleshooting, I uninstall it and play something else. There's plenty of fun games out there that work without issues

Bazzite is performing almost as well as Windows and in some instances beating it while using less power, CPU or RAM. Look at the usage in Horizon Zero Dawn. Bazzite is pretty much 10 or so FPS while using less CPU and GPU than the Windows version. Baldur's Gate consistently seems to use less CPU and GPU than the Windows version while still performing close to the same. The same with Flintock. In Kingdom Hearts I'd say performance is about the same with the close to the same lows as on Windows, Windows does have less GPU utltization though than Bazzite. Last Epoch does seem to perform better in Windows though. One thing I noticed is that temperatures seem to be higher in Bazzite in general even compared to ChimeraOS in some instances even if the CPU and GPU usage is lower. Not sure what's happening there. Either way imo if you compatibility isn't an issue Bazzite seems to be the way to go. The distro developers did a wonderful job tuning it for gaming and it shows here.

Im a noob. How do you get games to play on your windows deck? is there a game setting?

I did I installed Simply TDP,locked it at 30w and turnt off CPU boost
Makes it a crap OS then if you need to go around installing plugins for it to have basic and necessary features.

Bazzite wins clearly. Has more fps and less gpu usage in almost every game
Windows does have higher FPS in general but Bazzite has better frametimees just look at the graphs.
