They added everything I wanted in my XLT. I use my truck for work and spend a ton of time in it so I want all these nice features but I also don’t want a truck that I’m afraid to get scratched or worried about ruining the leather. Ford did a great job on it.
I love the intelligent access but I wish they would put power fold mirrors on the xlt. That’s the only thing it’s missing. Thanks for the great content as always.
I am so glad Ford finally put something as basic as dual climate on an XLT!! Also happy to see remote start, push button start and LED lights. I almost bought a Ram Big Horn for those very reasons, though I’m a Ford guy at heart. Glad they caught up and I waited!
At 7:16, the fog light coming on when you turn the corner reminds me of the side fender light that use to light up on the old Lincoln land yachts when turning a corner.
Excellent audio from the rode microphone clipped to your belt. Would it still work clipped to the top of your shirt without the wired microphone ? Awesome looking truck.
Probably so... When we have more than one person to get audio from we pass it around without the wired mic and the audio seems fine! But the wired part really helps get the wind noise out

Thanks for the video! I just bought a 2020 XLT 302 package. I had a 2017 Fusion with the PKE keyless entry and didn’t think I would miss it. I should have waited for a 2021 XLT.
Yea that’s what I use. However it takes forever to connect in t experience (45-60 seconds) so you can’t just hit it as you walk to the truck. You have to do it well in advance.
@@tileman108 thanks! the PKE is the keyless feature where you can leave the keys in your pocket and still unlock the door with a touch. I miss it during the winter with 5 degree wind chill here in Nebraska. Trying to get the keys out with gloves on is a bit of a challenge. The Ford pass is nice but does take a few minutes to work. It’s a lot quicker on my truck than it was on my Fusion for some reason.

I am a salesman at Benoit Ford in Louisiana, we got our batch of 2021s in 2 weeks ago. I bought a 2021 502a Lariat sport 4x4 with 5.0. Absolutely love the truck. Love that it has 400hp and 415 lbs of torque. Roush exhaust 6in lift, tires wheels will soon follow.
agree. I"m a bench seat and column shifter fan. I have a 13' F-150 with 58K on it. Great truck. I do like the new 21's here and they're well equipped but I don't need a lot of that stuff. They're slow to arrive at dealers, i know a major dealer near me that has 1. 1 F-150 and 1 Bronco. The lot is pretty bare of 20's.
I new feature I noticed with my 2021 xlt is the headlight brights turn on automatically when not around traffic! I thought it was a system bug, but its by design, pretty cool!
Still didn’t add 4WD Auto yet on the XLT, which doesn’t sound like much but in Icy West Michigan, it’s nice to have. One of the few reasons I’d consider a RAM.

On the XLT mid and 302A (luxury) they used to have the auto dimming driver-side mirror and rearview mirror. Is the driver-side dimming mirror still in those packages or has it been removed (only in Lariat now)? It used to be that if you wanted the power fold and dimming tow mirrors it you had to go up to the Lariat.
I recently found something on my 2021 and not sure I have seen it in any video yet- if you are at a stop and hit the "start/stop" button (not the Auto start/stop, which I meant to hit), the vehicle puts itself in park, the shifter moves on its own from D to P.
My only complaint with the XLTs is that the side mirrors are still black plastic looks kinda cheap compared to just painting them (i know that painted mirrors are an option for Lariat trim but still think XLT should have it as a choice). Regardless the truck looks good and i cant wait to get my own.

How does Ford notify you of service due? Does the vehicle tell you what service is due like Mercedes and Honda, or does it simply say service due and the dealer determines it?
I don't know if anyone said it but on the xlt does not have bending headlights, that is a option on lariat and higher. Xlt has bending fog lights. Also you forgot to mention that the xlt now has front sensors and a 8" instrument cluster, where earlier versions had a 4" cluster

Yep - Ford does that on purpose to make the upper trims more special. We are just happy that we don't have to get a Lariat to have intelligent access anymore!

I don't think these 302a headlights are adaptive. They're just LED bulbs in a reflector housing. I'm pretty sure you have to step up to the Lariat 502a to get the adaptive headlights.
Your right, the XLT doesn’t have them. Harmless mistake, but the XLT does have the fog lights that activate when you turn. They won’t do that how ever if you have them turned on. Unless the higher trims do that too , lol I’m not sure.
Seems like the only thing standard is power windows and locks and everything else is an option. I’d like to know what the benefit would be of a base XLT over an optioned out STX. It’s kinda confusing anymore the way everything is packaged out. And man...$54K.

I went and took a look at the 2021 f150 with that shifter that folds down and man it seems janky. Definitely something that will break.

I have a 15, XLT 302A . It came with remote start, power heated front seats . Power folding mirrors would have been nice. Memory Seat would be great.

No, cruise control does not need to be on for lane assist.

Cooled seats require leather hence the bump in trim/price.

Higher trims are center shift only. If the lariat is available in a bench seat then it would have a column though.
They are also available in the lariats.
I have a 2021 XLT with the 2.7L my truck shifts funny like it hesitates in gears 1-5 is this normal
