Hi Richard. I was expecting some crossover between your top 10 and mine. It worked out 50:50. I really love English Teacher. Their live at Brudenell Social Club in Leeds, RSD release is superb. Deary are on my list to get hold of soon. Cheers Mike 👍
Hi Mike- with so many GREAT UK releases this year, the crossover was inevitable! 😆 I’ll have to see if I can track down that live English Teacher RSD- it wasn’t on the US list. Bring on 2025! Cheers-R
Dream pop king right here. 🙌🏻 I knew that Black/Red album would be on here! Great picks - some albums I need to check out. A handful I know because of you talking about it. Great stuff, Richard! 😊
@ Ashamed to say it is the only one of their albums I don't own yet. Sort of kept forgetting and the CD shopping here in Oslo is abysmal. I order most of my CD's as opposed to my vinyl from amazon Germany but only when I'm in Denmark because they are both in the EU. If I order up here in Norway its customs and VAT and all that... jazz.
Found your channel through another youtubers comment section of their top 2024 albums (beer and vinyl), what drew me to you was your interest in shoegaze & dreampop from your titles. knew most of the bands here but also some i never heard of so definitely will be checking them out, awesome music taste man.
Thanks for stopping by! Love Alex over at Beer & Vinyl 😎 I did a 3-part video series on shoegaze/dreampop about a month ago- please check those out too…absolutely my favorite music genre! Happy New Year! Cheers-R
Wow, thanks Richard, I discovered so much interesting music. Nice to see Drop Nineteens reissue Blushing and Crows, I seem to really like... Will dig deeper Didn't really many album from 2024 this year, but Geordie Greep - The new Sound would be in my top 3.. Cheers and all the best for the new year
Hi Bruno- Glad to see you found some new faves! That Geordie Greep album is fascinating but I’m having a hard time tracking it down on vinyl- I might have to settle for cd. Happy New Year! 😎
Blushing was my favorite album cover - seems like you liked it too. I don't think I've heard any of these albums - I haven't even heard of most of the bands! lol I'll try to stream some. Thanks for showing the records!
Hey Randall- thx for checking out the video!! That Blushing album cover IS pretty amazing (the music’s darn good, too) 😎 Seems you like all kinds of genres of music too, so hopefully you like some of these new-to-you bands - Feeder is awesome, just sayin’ 👍 Cheers-R
I love that DIIV album. It very nearly made my list, but I just had too many! I need to check Crows out. I've seen it mentioned a few times but haven't heard it. I don't know the Twilight Sad. I will check them out. Thus Love is very good. They are from Vermont I believe. Feeder. Black/Red I missed that one. Great list, Richard. Have a great New Year
Hi Andy! That Crows album is definitely in your wheelhouse of music…I think you’d enjoy it. Twilight Sad are from Scotland- absolutely amazing albums. Great year for music overall- I wonder what ‘25 will bring?! Happy New Year! Cheers-R 😃👍
Great overview, Richard! I've been watching a bunch of these 2024 year end videos to see what new stuff is out there, and what appeals to me. Saves me a lot of research - ha! I have read about Deary before, so cool to see these EPs. Blushing is new to me, and that is on the list. I still go back to your Shoegaze Part 3 video to see what I might take a crack at. Respect the Shoegaze/Dreampop! Happy New Year as well! 😎🥂🎆
Thanks so much! I’d love to hear your thoughts on some of the ‘new to you’ albums 👍 I REALLY like Deary….hoping for big things with them going forward! Cheers-R
Richard, I picked up a copy of Blushing's 'Sugarcoat' based on your review. It has been a long time since I have gravitated back to this style/genre, and I am really enjoying this record. Say When, Pull You in Two, and Silver Teeth are the current faves. Just wanted to share! 😎🎶
@ Great!! Such a good album- if you get a chance to see them in concert, go 👍 They usually play small venues so it won’t cost a gazillion $ like some shows 😆
I keep seeing that Fontains DC album out there on these lists (I also just fucking LOVE that cover). I’ll have to give a lot of these a whirl. I trust your taste more than most. A great year indeed. My list will be out soon hopefully 🤞 cheers Richard and happy new year!
Thx for that vote of confidence, Alex- that means a lot to me 😎👍 This really was a great year in music, for sure! Hope your list is killer! 🤘😃 Keep on rockin’!
If you only have one, this is certainly a great one to have! If you’re so inclined, I’d suggest Disintegration next and P*rnography, both of which are excellent 😎👍
I saw Blushing in concert at some place on Broadway, great concert. Cure and Crows were great. I tried to get into that Fountaines album but it was just too slow for me. A lot of people really liked it. Your number one album was new to me, need to check it out
I was going to go to that Blushing show (Skylark Lounge wasn’t it?) but it didn’t work out 🤔 Feeder are excellent- I’ve been a fan since their late 90s album ‘Polythene’ dropped. Cheers-R
Interesting list. Probably not your cup of tea but for me "Orgy of the Damned" by Slash was my fave CD of the year. All killer, no filler (hmmm... someone should use that as an album title)! Happy new year.
Thx for commenting 👍 I saw Slash (Slash’s Snakepit) open for Sammy Hagar many years ago at Red Rocks 😎 Nothing better than an ‘all killer no filler’ album, right? Cheers-R
That Fontaines DC cover is certainly…something, eh? 😆 I hope you like Feeder- they’ve been around for years & years but they just never broke the States or Canada 🤔
Hi Richard, - nice list! I also liked the reissued Delaware, tho was disappointed by Drop Nineteen's new LP ( 'Hard Light'). That said, I'm looking forward to the new issue of older material (called '1991') in 2025. There was another Delaware band in 1991 that I really rate - Smashing Orange - their first couple of EPs/lp are very good 'gaze with more of a psych or rock feel. Later stuff is not as good (more rock, less psych/gaze), tho the singer/guitarist (Rob Montejo) later formed a band called The Sky Drops (grunge -gaze as they call it) that is decent too. .. cheers again for the list - good overlap with my preferred LPs, tho would have added Peter Perrett's new one and the Galaxie 500 outtakes LP (as reissue). cheers
Thanks for the rec on Smashing Orange- will check that out! I have heard of The Sky Drops, though 👍 Yeh the new Drop Nineteens hasn’t moved me too much either..not sure if I need/want that earlier material either, tbh. Happy New Year! Cheers-R

Thanks Emma 👍 Hope to see your top picks for 2024 soon (and not just guitar picks!!) 😆
@ I’ll be sure to show all the guitar picks 🤣
@@EightVinylLow Doooooo iiiiittttt!! 😆😂
Nice stuff Richard, very diverse list!
Thanks Sam! It's fun to mix things up a bit, right? 😃
Great list Richard. I have 3 of those. Not too shabby 😊 Godt Nytt År 🌠
Three is better than none :D What do you think of the Feeder-Black/Red album? Obviously I love it! Hope to hear your thoughts :) Take care!! -R

Interesting list here! Most of this is not on my radar but hey there’s only so much money and time lol. Great job!
Hey Gary! Yep time and money definitely factor into this hobby, eh? 😆👍 Thanks for checking in! Cheers-R

Great list! I'm familiar with all these bands except crows, thus love, and feeders. Gotta check those out.
Thanks! You're in for a treat - some of the best albums from last year. 👍...oh, and I just subbed your channel! Cheers-R

@@richards5280 Good to know! I have a number of smaller clubs and venues near me. I'll keep an eye out.😎🎸🎶

Great list, Richard. Fontaines DC are awesome, but I still hate the album cover. It seems that I will have to listen to your #1!
