Honored to be included! I appreciate you listening to the album and promise the rest is soon to follow. The series has been composed and just needs to be dressed up at this point. Awesome list you’ve cultivated with some interesting finds. Was an incredible year for music, almost dizzying trying to keep up with everything. Looking forward to the remaining selection. Cheers Matt!
You could say it's the 'Royal we', as we do in the UK - or, as one does :) I bought Kiran Leonard's "Real Home" (he writes it like Bowie wrote "Heroes") after your review, and it stands as my #2 AOTY, so a big thanks to you, Matt, for introducing me that artist (I also bought Grapefruit).

Wow, lots of new stuff to me here. I’ve been disappointed with Loma since their first album, and Julia Holter is similar. Loved her 2016 album. That Jessica Pratt album has some undeniable tracks.
I'm a metal guy but there seems to be some good picks here to investigate. Interested in what your top 10 would be. Nice list and presentation. Thanks.
Nice list man. Barock proj reminds me of Kansas who were kinda proggy in the 70's. Dating myself here but as a kid was a huge Kansas guy. Have my eye on that medium. Looks like a must.
Thanks for the Wesley Fuller pick as I probably wouldn't have heard this otherwise and definitely enjoyed it. That Crumb album actually disappointed me a bit this year. Both Smile albums were worth listening to. Agreed that the William Doyle album was a return to form. Some others on this list I still need to check out that sounded interesting or up my alley.
Excellent suggestions. Now one must find the time to go through these splendid albums. Nothing extremely famous. I have liked a lot of albums in 2024 but my best one is by Yot Club, Rufus. This name sounds as if it's a band but it comes from an artist named John Ryan Kaiser. This guy has a unique voice and manages to put a variety of atmospheres in his songs. Never boring, we tend to sing with him even if we don't know the song. This does not last for long because after a couple of listens, the music plays itself in your head all day long and even in the night. I discovered John Ryan Kaiser in 2022 with Off the Grid and I loved it. The album Rufus is even better and my top 1 of 2024. Extremely pleasant to listen. A true revelation.
Nice list. Looking forward to the top 10. Wondering if you checked out Christopher Owens new album. It really struck me this year, especially if you know his story.
Thanks. It’ll be coming tomorrow most likely. I just listened to Christopher Owens because of Tastes Like Music. I liked it but need more time and listens. Crazy story…
@MattOLearyMusic I will check them out. Have really enjoyed checking out a wide range of top 10 lists this year, yours included rather than just the usuals
Enjoyed your list i just listened to the sean lennon album last week credit too u for including it . I like some of your albums already some i not know . One album i find too pretendious is the magalend bay i seen it on some end of year list but i found it dull sounded too manufactured but eveyone to there own.
never heard of William Doyle, although he's been pretty active the last 10 years, in just looking him up. I enjoy that last Claypool/Lennon Delirium album quite a bit, but wasn't aware of Sean's new solo record. although it sounds like it could be kind of avant-garde. Barock Project and Milton & Esperanza are 2 that I enjoyed this year as well. Looking forward to your top 10!

Asterisms is pretty accessible for an instrumental jazz album. I think you might like Eric Slick and Cunningham Bird as well.
3 minutes in and I already discovered a really good song (eric slick)
That’s how I roll. Peace and blessings to ya, horse.
list please. or spotify playlist, even better
c'mon man don't make me wait till next year for the rest 😂
😅 think it’s gonna be tomorrow or Thursday!
You said that 2024 was a great year for music. When was a bad year for music?
Did I say that? I don’t think it was. 2015-17 was a golden period for my taste - way better than the last few years
@MattOLearyMusic okay 🙂
