I think I like this type of mix more than the original mix, specifically because the guitar sounds a bit louder than the vocals. Guitar deserve to be main instrument, and vocals to be secondary instrument.

@@thefourthwritedjentleman3643 I played 12 years with my palm open used my pinky anchored to the body and about year ago my friend told me to close my hand and to learn to play like that. First it was very hard and awkward but now I play much faster and cleaner than before. Always room to improve and learning never stops😎

I'd like to hear this cover by you but with D'Addario NYXL strings instead of Ernie Balls. Maybe a comparison sound test?
There could be a little difference there. I don't remember how old my strings were for this one and that also affects the tone😅I used to use D'addario strings but I changed to EB. I think they are a tiny bit brighter and they feel better. But that's just my opinion. About the NYXL series, I have tried those as well and even though they promise longer lasting strings, I don't think there is huge difference compared to their regular strings.

Thanks! Not too bad compared to lots of other Lorna's songs. I had learnt this long before I started making videos and I think this solo is the first I ever learnt from Lorna.

Thanks! About learning it really depends on the song but approximately couple days I guess. Then I should be able to play well enough that the recording doesn't take more than couple hours. And mixing what I do is very basic eq and compression tricks + I have master chain ready that I use to finish post processing👍

Any tips on how to bunch up the solo to start working on individual sections?
I usually just start learning the solo very slowly, maybe cut it to like 3-5 pieces. Then play each part multiple times slowly to develop muscle memory. I think that is the key that you can play the solo without much thinking since everything happens so fast. I usually also play guitar while watching tv just to help develop that muscle memory.

Thanks! Hmm all I can say is try to keep your hand relaxed and don't hold pick too hard because you lose speed. But keepinh hand relaxed is easiwr said than done 😅

Hey bro I hope you see this - I was mentioning about the way you hold your hand with a clenched fist when alt picking etc and that I couldn’t get speed and felt weird

Well, guess what my man, you are now that friend who told me to try it, I can finally play the first fast bit of Lucid Collective Somnabulation where they go to the 3 notes on one string and then one in the string below, it’s a ideal sort of lick
