I had the same thought. I only got into lorna this year, but i saw them open for Black Dahlia Murder back in like, 2014 or something. When i first heard Death Portrait i was floored. Heaviest shit i ever heard 😂

That said, prolly should’ve at least let him get comfortable with the heavier metalcore bands like Currents and Make Them Suffer and the less shocking deathcore bands like Whitechapel, Chelsea Grin, and Fit For an Autopsy before having him listen to it lmao. It’s a lot to take in on first listen for even some metalheads if you check out some of the reactions- it’s so much longer than normal deathcore songs and you never really know where they’re going with it on first listen

Lorna Shore is something it takes most metalheads years to work up to & only a small group of people will like something this heavy that quick. It's the only downside to seeing reactors start doing more rock/metal than they used to. They get requests for dejent, black metal, death metal & deathcore and it tends to push them away from doing rock/metal more.
@@gavinsmommy101910 Agreed. He was too innocent for this. It took me years to even be able to enjoy songs that don't have any clean vocals so I stuck to metalcore and some prog metal. I then found Meshugga and it went downhill very quickly from there. So it really takes time to warm up to it

Whitechapel is like the most beginner friendly deathcore band but stuff like Lorna or even SOTS is... advanced. on the other hand its somewhat interesting to see somebody whos not used to it at all react to that stuff and now that we already got him to do lorna he can do demolisher. doesnt matter now^^

Well he's already listened to Suicide Silence and now Lorna i think Malediction would be a perfect intro to Shadow because of the subtle clean vocals and because Ben is a lot easier to understand than CJ is. After i found metalcore i jumped straight into deathcore right away

Welcome to the world of deathcore my friend . You have now entered the wider gate of heavier music then metalcore.
No need to apologize about the way you react. Honestly you took it pretty chill than most reactors which start reacting to really heavy genres like in this case deathcore. Sadly the lead singer kicked out of the band before release of the album with no saying from the band on why he was kicked out. The lead singer also had allegations of manipulating and i think sexual harassment with women and might have been the reason he was kicked out right away.
I do agree with you on the way he reacted with it.. also appreciate the history lesson with the band
