Discover how to create a winter wonderland in V-Ray for 3ds Max with this tutorial. ❄️ Learn how to modify your ground geometry to achieve that realistic snow-covered look using displacement and noise textures. We'll also guide you through the steps of crafting a subsurface scattering shader and fine-tuning it for that authentic snow-like effect.

Very nice. I'm sure if I try to duplicate it it will look nothing like this :)
Awesome tutorial man!
One word to say: WOW !
wow, crazy look !
Wow! no words!
Very interesting and useful, thanks
Love it!
Nice tips, Thanks
The displacement settings implementation inside the VRayMtl would be a godsend. I'm, stuck to Corona just for this feature alone...So sad you have to mess around with many DispModifiers and vertex masks to achieve multiple displacements onto a single object.
Cool!
vrey nice thanks🎉🎉🎉❤

VERY Nice
Beautiful!
Can I ask what gpu you use for these demo reels? Mainly for the speed of the interactive render, is it one strong gpu or is this running from a render node?
Cool, more of those a bit more advanced tutorials pls. Normally Chaos tutorials are always super basic 🙂
Question: TexMin and Max is between -5 and 5. But your are using only simple jpgs. Any benefits for extending the range above 0 and 1 in that case?
There is no benefit of having range set above and below 0 to 1 in the case of using jpgs. It would only be beneficial if we use textures with values below 0 or above 1.
@@vmihaylov1986 Yeah, ok thx for confirmation. Does it have any downsides to extend the range? Why not for example by default use -100 to 100 in order to cover any cases?
@vmihaylov1986 it actually has, if you add 2 bitmaps on top of each other, you might push your value above 1 and get a flat top effect (like if the surface was sanded)
Using overlay keeps your values in check but with less dynamic
Could you share the scene file? It's a great lesson, but it would be useful for following along, especially the textures.
fi you don't share the textures then this tutorial can be useful for us. :)
Are these textures available at Chaos Cosmos ?
Will you share the textures?
Where can we find textures like these? Usually where I waste time/fail is looking for the right maps.
Nice, but what are those textures?
Could you point the viewers to a source of these textures? Are they from a specific source or random ones collected for the purpose of this tutorial?
Can i do it in revit
Hi do you have link to download this scene. Is that something you can share please?
Pls can you do it with Maya.
You can easily follow this tutorial and apply the exact same principles in V-Ray for Maya. The V-Ray nodes are pretty much the same, and you will get the same result.
where is the link to the scene-file?
where are the textures please ?
As a Maya user, I find the interface of 3ds max difficult, so could you please make a Creating realistic snow Tutorial for Maya as well?
Maya and max aren't too different, I used to use maya, it's only the layout that's really different, all the types of files for material editing and especially vray are the same
@@R1PPA-C No mask handling tutorials found for Vertex paint feature in Maya. That's why I can't follow him
@@SeongGyu_ if it isn't part of maya you might have to try find a plugin or script which let's you vertex paint
@@R1PPA-C Hmm... I see. I hope Chaos TV can tell you the Maya version . Maybe I don't know the function well
