Toyota Tacoma Leveling Kit Install With Needle Bearing Issues

Welcome to the Dunnage Garage. In this week’s video we are going to install a leveling kit. However, we run into a major issue. Most videos that cover this topic only discuss the installation of the kit. We were not going to be any different. After we lifted the front of the truck, a weird noise was noticed and a vibration coming from the front driver’s side. It is common for warn parts to magnify their issues after adding a lift kit. What we didn’t know is that the needle bearings from the factory have a large amount of “play.” After the lift that “play” or movement allows for an on again - off again vibration and grinding noise. In fact, it is so common that an East Coast Gear Supply created specialty bushing to fix the issue. You can even obtain the specialty tools for the bushing install from them too. Follow along while we install the leveling kit and discuss the issue. Then stay tuned for the next video where we fix the needle bearings.

The owner provided the spacers for the install. I believe they were found on amazon.
