And hell, I found her beautiful, 'Mad About Her', I would say, Carlisles voice was like 'Heaven on My Headphones'. But hey, forget about this teenage feelings. Watching this video makes me see that she's a great mother and person And so is her son! So much love - to each other - they show. This made be both happy and sad. Happy that your mom and dad was able to except who you are; and sad my parents did not live to see gay becoming mainstream. I came out at 15 in 1975 and was not wanted in my parents home. I also had two gay brothers; the oldest who killed him self after failing to live a heterosexual “lifestyle” and my younger gay brother who stayed in the closet. We were raised in a religious Christian home. A lot of misinformation about gay spoke was perpetrated by the church. Basically they projected their own perversions onto the gay community in order to distract from the fact clergy were molesting children. Religious people can sometimes be as offensive as racists.

they're both adorably honest, but it shows one thing: even being surrounded by glbt people all her life, even Belinda had all the scares, questions, doubts and "negative" thoughts as first reaction - not the strong form, but still both parents had fears, worries and maybe hoped it to be phase etc etc.... So no one should wonder how many not "gay-friendly" or "used-to-be-around-gays" parents react more drastically negative and that still it is a big big step to come out to your family. There is still a lot to do in society to help parents and glbt people to get along easily and smoothly with each other whilst coming out.

I remember that Belinda, along with being a drug addict, had a eating disorder which made it difficult for her to control her weight. I also remember Richard recalling when he liked to work with certain artists. He said-"I like to get them when they're hungry." I met him while he was producing 'Blondie's' first album. I have an urge to listen to 'Rip Her To Shreds'. I think I'll do that right now!
Well I was bullied big time at school and yet the blokes in my class seemed to think I was gay even before I knew myself I do understand some of the things he has said I also had an idea when I was about 9 that I may of been but just never thought about it again for years
I come from a time when it was almost unheard of for a person to come out as a teen and if they did it was pretty much a given that they were going to be sent off somewhere or they were going to disappear to one day be found living on the streets or selling themselves in a local park known as the hustler's hang out. I am always in aw of this generation and their courage in coming out so young. I'm glad that in this way things are getting better.
I feel very similarly. Keep in mind, though, that the benefits that this generation is taking advantage of were won by the hard work, bravery, and dedication of millions in the generations BEFORE them. They are our LGBT progeny, and we love 'em, but they are the living proof that our fight has a happy ending.
