Great video bro! Regarding the cracking from seating heads, Evans uses a different method of securing the Mylar to the hoop that doesn’t make the sound. I believe Remo uses a glue that will make it crack as it’s tuned up. I stopped seating Evans heads personally. They all stretch as they’re under tension for a few days when you put them on and need retuning.
Evans heads have a proprietary 360 collar that seats the head, so you don't get any glue cracking when seating. I still do the press anyway, because old habits die hard... Remo still does have glue that you need to crack in order to properly seat. Appreciate the excellent video!
Hey Daniel, I know this is a comment that does not go with the video, but I just wanted to say that we got our new electric drum set for our church. And we have the same Hi-Hats you do. (your new ones on your electric kit) And there amazing, They feel nice and nice to play with, and they have a good feel. Also thanks for this video. It will help me when I tune my drums again.
Nice! I use a very similar set up. G2 coated batter with g1 resonant heads. Except the floor tom gets a g2 clear for the resonant (evans stopped making the g14 that I used before). The sound guy at church loves it. If anyone is interested in hearing it I can drop a link.
Hey Daniel God bless you and thank you for the tuning tutorial without a doubt it helped me a great deal 🙏 ! I have a question if you have time to answer and the question is. Which hands do you prefer Evans or Remo and why?
Saw this video and had to check it out. I was curious how you tuned your kit. I basically do it the exact same way and it has worked well over the years. I do tend to gravitate towards the Aquarian Performance II heads for my toms. Do you have much experience with those heads? I they never really needed much dampening
Do you ever use Tune bot for fine tuning? If so, what Hz do you use for each Tom? Do you tune by note of Tom's, like Tom 1 is a C2. Tom 2 G2 and so on.?
I just saw this video because i got new heads for my church drum set and also have a 10, 12, and 14 inch tom instead of 16. but how does the top head and bottom head relate to eachother when it comes to tuning?

Which drum heads do you prefer emperor coated or clear drum heads and which brand evans or remo?
Daniel , the reso head of the floor Tom, is more tight ?
What is the tom tuning interval???
Are you ever going to get a 8in tom for your Saturn kit?
If I can ever find one I will!
Next vid, Drum EQ Tutorial please 😭
I have to say, the before and after was VERY similar, like REALLY similar. Good video though!
Yow, Finally!! 😍
How do u remove the long tone in the drums
I talk about this here in the video when talking about toms! It comes down to getting the two heads tuned similar and using dampeners as needed!
