They sound amazing this proves that you don’t have to do some fancy tuning like some drummers say just do what you want but all matters is these drums sound great good video bro❤️🔥🔥🥁
Great video and thanks for finally making this video! Love the fact that you showcased the Reso 7 as your bottom head. That Reso 7 most certainly helps with low sustain, which allows your drums to sound punchy and not bleed in the mix. Overall, wise head choices for both batter and resonant heads. Job well done and team EvansDrumheads!
sick tones. the 12" is the only one, where I think it doesn't sit that well sonicly, compared to the others. But this is just my taste :) I kinda struggle with my 12" rack as well sometimes
The kit sounds great. In order for me to achieve that fat punchy sound or sound similar to your drums here, I like to tighten the bottom heads and loosen the top heads. I love your sound and those clear evans heads. Now my question is would these heads work on a Yamaha Stage custom birch? I have stock heads right now and the stock heads sound good to be factory heads, but can't consistently achieve this type of sound. I achieved it with the 10 by 12 factory head though.
So weird, I tune mine up high like that then drop them down after a bit, it works like a charm and they hold the tuning very well, cool vid! oh and I use coated reso's too
You hit that 12 the first time I’m like YESS! Haha but I understand it needs to sit well with the others but since I play with one rack Tom I would have stopped there 😂
Evans drumheads don't need to be stretched because of the level 360 technology. Take them out the pack tune and play. These aren't Remo heads that need to be stretched. Try just straight tuning without the stretch. You will see the difference.
I’ve always stretched so now I just keep doing it lol I left remo because they fired my rep then they just left me hanging, talked to roger then he left me hanging too, I needed a lot of heads for tour but literally had no support. So yeah…
now i done seen this videos a tonnnnn of times, but never noticed how when u were doing the snare, beforre u found the sound u were looking for, i noticed that when u did the snare with the eq on, it lost alot of attack, it had the depth but very little attack, idk if that was intentional but personally i think there could've been some more attack to that snare.
Yeah, I just went back to clear single plies after playing the evans hydraulics for some years. The clears _look_ boring as hell 😂 but I've missed that punchiness of a thin single ply head.
Great vid bro! Quick question. Do you detune then retune your reso heads whenever you change your batter heads or do you leave them as is (and vice versa)?
Legend has it that god said: "my son marcus thomas shall not be born in a womb, but in the pocket"
Hahaaaa!! One of the dopest comments I’ve ever seen!!
Amen 🙏. Touch not God's anointed.
Go ahead brother Marcus
sounds great to me nice way of tuning! greets from Holland👍
Sick tones there Marcus, I've been using Evans Drumheads since I started drumming and they're freaking sick.
Awesome video! Looking really forward to the Eq video.
I’ve been waiting for this FOR SO LONG MY GUY THAAANKS😂🔥

Can you do a video on the Drumsticks you like

Very informative!
You hit that 12 the first time I’m like YESS! Haha but I understand it needs to sit well with the others but since I play with one rack Tom I would have stopped there 😂
Yeah i usually keep my 12 like that if I’m not using a 8” Tom because it’s so sweet at that range.
@@marcusthomas88 yeah, if I’m close mic’ing the kit, I always go a bit lower. That and I play rock music so it’s nice to have them in the range.
Great vid homie. What about the bottom heads?
Where’s the EQ video? I’ve been looking everywhere?
Maybe it's because I tune mine to as low as they can go, but I never need to break in my evans.
It’s not the drumheads. YOU sounds good!!!!

Yo how are you how many times do you tune it to let it sit like each lug
i like that 14" tom/gong snare, does it also sound so low without a microphone ? Or you do you need a microphone to get that low sound ?
Definitely need a mic, without the mic it sounds weird
great vid awesome playing ..How do you tune your bass drum sounds amazing ...Stay well
The toms sound like it`s xylophone :)))
nice 😄
What's that extra black tom to your right? or is that the 14" Tama Metalworks Effect Series Snare Drum?
Effect snare
What kind of audio is good to use with phones when recording drumming videos like in church or anywhere else?
A lot of people use iRig
@marcusthomas88 When using the irig how to turn the snare drum volume up?
What about bottoms?
reso 1

Great vid bro! Quick question. Do you detune then retune your reso heads whenever you change your batter heads or do you leave them as is (and vice versa)?
i think he left it as it is, as long as ur reso is good, u dont have a problem with em and u can just tune the batter.
Na I don’t do that for the reso heads
I thought so. Appreciate it.
Aye bro what size snare are you using?
14x6.5
Do you use moon gels on your rack toms?
Sometimes, I do have drum dots on them now
I'm curious why you switched from Remo to Evans cuz of the ease of tuning? and another question is which one is better Remo or Evans?
Evans, remo fired my rep then just left me hanging til this day smh

What about that kick 👀
Ec2 Evans is the Best bro kick Emad 2
They singing 😢
I could clearly hear some lugs tighter than others. Sorry, but your tuning is not very good.
How did u make your snare sound so dry to the point where you can’t hear the snare wires?
I keep my wires tight i, I don’t like them loose
What’s the name of your drum set?
What did u used to mix your drum and add EQ on them?
Logic with the stock plugins
