    I believe the navigation on the digital cockpit works with android auto and I assume apple maps if you use car play which is pretty cool.

      Ill have to try it again! I thought I had and didn’t see the navigation for Apple Maps. That’s awesome if it does! I will add an addendum to the description! I usually use Waze and ABRP. Those definitely do not work!

    Nice review. I am looking forward to your ID.4 NAV/route planning review. The haptic buttons/pads actually seem pretty clever. I am used to the Audi stalks now, but I feel like the haptic pads might actually be faster and require less hand movement.

    Thank you for your review videos! It gets me excited for when my ID.4 finally comes in! I really don’t mind the buttons, I’m kind of excited for them, actually because it’s different to what I’ve driven in the past 33 years. Plus I’ve always been a huge Star Wars/ Buck Rogers and etc space nerd so all these touch buttons reminds me of playing spaceship stuff as a kid! Lol!

    I have 69K on my 2021 ID.4 Pro S Gradient & love the Car , these are great cars and I doubt there are many people if Any that have more Miles or have Driven more then mine , not sure why anyone would complain about anything or any Feature in this car , window switches would be better if they have 4 window buttons but other then that overall very well made and features are great too ! Purchased with 3 miles on 2/28/2022 , 69k in 13 months , fabulous driving car !

    Good introduction video, thank you. I do have two things I will like to bring up.
    1- for video quality please have a green apple to prevent smacking.
    2- can you do a detailed video of the navigation map, such as zoom in out and volume

    Great thanks keep them coming. I also like the way it is. Funny thing is that I have 27k so far in less than 8 months and I have never had any issues. Everything works I would love to be able to change the navigation color and background. But it works. Just use Android Auto with maps more.

      Totally agree! I think the navigation looks bad… I talk about that in an infotainment video coking out eventually! Im also going to try and only use the built in nav on a trip in taking to Chicago in June. Interested to see how it does. Especially if the projected range isn’t completely accurate

    Thank you for your honest content. I really wanted to like the ID4. I've driven it a few times in the last 3 years and just couldn't warm up to it. The touch sensitive buttons (everywhere) really turned me off. Also, I want a vehicle that I can reliably drive 100 miles from home, regardless of weather conditions, and know I can get back home without having to stop to charge. That's not a lot to ask from a vehicle.
    Maybe VW will make some changes for '24 that will make me interested again.

    • @theaverageev
      @theaverageev  Рік тому +2

      Thanks for sharing. The buttons (or lack there of) are really a turn off for a lot. Like I said I don't mind them, but I totally understand why people don't like them.
      I'm sorry you had that experience with the range. In all of my estimates the range far exceeds 100 miles (or meets with about 200-230 miles round trip) even in cold weather.
      I definitely hope the ID.4 or some other EV can meet your needs! Thanks for watching! I appreciate it!

    • @MrOktsx
      @MrOktsx Рік тому +1

      @The Average EV
      I think if I were to keep my speed at around 65 on highway a 200 mile round trip would probably be feasible in cold weather. I don't know. This tech is so new and unproven. I don't want to be left with a useless brick in 6-7 years.

    • @ArielBatista
      @ArielBatista Рік тому +2

      I have never had less than 220 miles range even in winter. I don't drive faster than 75, mostly 70. And if I see my range going down I set ACC and get behind a truck going 70 to 75. I set it up drive mode comfort which seems best for distance.

    • @theaverageev
      @theaverageev  Рік тому

      Gotcha. Where do you live? Also you need to do what’s best for your situation. So if you need to wait for vehicles with better range in the cold, do it! You should feel confident in your car.

    How did you manage to get so many miles? Is there a trick to do this? Everyone says to charge to 80% but I would prefer to get the most miles as often as I could.

    • @theaverageev
      @theaverageev  5 місяців тому +1

      It really depends on the driving scenario and your driving habits.
      The recommendation for 80% has two main rationale. The first is that it is not great to regularly charge your battery above 75-80%. It will speed up degradation. The best discharge/charge range is 75% down to 65%. This will keep your battery the healthiest. But sometimes you need to charge to 100% to make a tough stretch or because you want to maximize your first leg!
      Second, it takes longer to charge from 80-100% than it does to charge from 0-80% when charging on a DCFC. So time savings alone is worth it!
      So if you are on a roadtrip I would say charge to 100% for the start and then target 60-80% (enough to comfortably get to the next furthest charger.
      If you hare charging at home regularly then I would say set a max charge of 70-80%, drive your daily commute, and then plug in at night. You'll always have as much as you need.
      If you can't charge at home, It might be worth it to go down to 40-50% before charging again so that you aren't always at the charger. I couldn't imagine going to a public DCFC everyday!
      Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions!

    • @theaverageev
