Just got my 2023 recall for the door handle "fixed" yesterday. They said it's supposedly only for earlier than 2023 but still had to bring it in...

Cupholder has a key picture, that's where you'd put your key if your key fob were to die 🤘🏼

The physical key hidden in the key fob is also the tool used to pry off the cover at the rear of the driver's door handle to expose the lock cylinder. There is a slot on the bottom of the cover to insert the key.

This isn't a feature, not that I know of, but when you lower the drivers window part way down and then want to close it when you pull up on the switch either half or full, the window will go down all the way first and then go up.....sometimes. It's strange. I've hear this is a safety feature for kids so they don't close a window on their arm or fingers but I'm not sure of that explanation. I also read that you can 'reset' the limits of the window by holding the switch for 3-5 seconds in both the down and up position. I tried that and I still have the window do that funky thing of going fully down when you want to put it up. ??? I don't know....maybe a software issue?

Is there anything that can be done to bypass the welcome screen every time I get in the car. I am the primary user and the only user and it didnt do that before the software upgrade. Just thought Id ask. I drive a 2021 Pro S. Thanks.

What dash phone holder are you using in this video?

Perhaps you could do a 'long term review' of the Kona or other vehicle content on either car.

I am planning on doing a 2 year review of the Kona at the end of this month!

I have discovered that the panic button on the key fob is super annoying. On most cars that still have them they are recessed, but VW evidently made it the highest point for some obscure reason, so it will set of the honking horn if I press my leg against the door, or if anything is in my pocket with the stupid immense key fob.
The one home run I will give to VW is the driver’s display having the range guess and the battery percentage at the same time. So many others let you see one or the other, but not both. I think this screen is well designed which I can’t say about the other one.
My most major complaint is about persistence. When I am in the car I have a radio station and the seat heater ( in cooler months) set. The next time I get in the car the seat heater is off and there is no radio. I’ve never had any car that couldn’t keep the radio on and both of my previous VW’s and all other cars would retain the seat heater and screen brightness from one drive to the next.
Since I’m on a roll, I’ll mention being annoyed every time I get in the car I have to choose between being me, or a guest. I wish that would stop because sometimes I am out of the car for a minute and I have to press that stupid button again. No guest is ever going to drive this car that I am paying for. That screen might be better in a rental or fleet situation.
Then there is the narrow window of time where pressing the brake pedal will start the car versus having to press the start button. I think they should pick one and be consistent. The brake press option can close in the time I put on my seatbelt and press the stupid welcome screen guest or owner button. Usually if I press the brake first I get to listen to the seatbelt reminder chimes. VW should really just rent a Tesla and copy that and ditch the start button completely.
I like the car, but these minor annoying things spoil it a little. I am happy I can get my bike inside without folding it. My wish list would include folding the front passenger seat flat.

Thanks for the list lots of annoyances. The panic button is the worst... I set it off all the time. I am doing a top three, bottom three video about the ID.4 soon!

Agreed! It always happens when I bend down and something else in my pocket pushes the button and sets it off. I wish there was a way to disable it but then the mechanics wouldn't be able to find it during a service appointment.
