Having played the original on the DS...this is a classic and a truly underappreciated RPG. Glad to see it's getting another chance!

The in-game soundtrack to this game is phenomenal. Very tempted to buy this game again although I'd still like to point out that the DS version is still amazing.

If you are a fan of classic, turn-based jRPGs like the old-school Final Fantasy games, Dragon Quest, or Chrono Trigger, get this game. Radiant Historia is brilliant for fans of this genre.

VN = Visual Novel. I disagree, it's true that you can switch between two timelines and take "different decisions", but there's ultimately only one, liner path of choices to the ending, the other yelding various game over with an immediate prompt to try again just before the choice. At least that's how it worked in the original, no idea how that third branch will affect the remake.
BTW, this game is way better than Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest, since it actually requires you to think about what you're doing and doesn't pad out its playtime with grinding. It's out there with Chrono Trigger, involving and difficult fights that require actual strategy to get through !
Best RPG I've played in many years. Neat gameplay, emotional story, excellent soundtrack and an amazing cast of well-developed characters. It's up there with Chrono Trigger and FF VI, no joke. Hall of Greats.

I got the DS version at GameStop for pretty cheap.
I mean this is 40 at game stop rn (release date), and the original can still be found for around 20. and the original has aged well, but im interested to see if this port has made some balancing changes in addition to the new material.

The launch edition might be worth something. Cause its a limited run. But as others said. The ds version is cheap and easy to find. And im sure the 3ds version will be easy to find for awhile.
No surprise that the 3DS is still being supported more than the PS Vita even over six years later.
I'm looking forward to the release of *The Alliance Alive* (3/27/2018) and *Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux* (5/15/2018) on the 3DS as well.

I loved this game on the DS. The mechanics were awesome and I found it difficult to move on to other similar games afterwards. I would love to play it again and hopefully see some added content!

A little sad this isn't coming to Switch, but I do have a DS lite lying around somewhere to pick up the original again.
Hopefully porting the game to 3DS will gain it some popularity. I'd like to see more games with this concept.

Virtue's Last Reward has a similar premise. Just subtract the JRPG and add in lots of violence, death and betrayal
I remember hearing about this back in 2011 but never really checked it out. I usually like time travel stories so this is one game I plan to get!

MyDbzfan9000 I think that the 3DS is only getting ports and remakes in the future, which is okay. Nintendo at least is putting some attencion to the 3DS. Obviously the Swicth is now their focus.
Lady Pauline ports and remakes are fun, i dont get peoples issues with them, a good game is a good game, as long as its fun and has great replay value

Getting my Day One Edition today!!! Loved the demo😍 My guy was so intrigued by the story, by just hearing me play the demo, that he grabbed a copy for himself along with my pre order 👍😊.Luckily, Gamestop had gotten in 3 additional copies with the pre orders. So he could grab the Day One Edition for himself, as well. 😊

@@hinaru77 According to wikipedia, Xenoblade Chronicles was released 5 months before Radiant Historia in Japan. Even if Radiant Historia is older, that doesn't mean you can't compare Stocke to Shulk.

Absolute masterpiece.
Bought this yesterday and was instantly suckered. The combat is fun, better for me than just your average turn based, and the story and its mechanics are phenomenal. I look forward to completing it. I would point out that it sucks to pay but I had some money sitting in my Nintendo wallet and used it for the original character portraits. Very cool with great character

Oh definitely.
No amount of godly marketing will sell a system with no games.
I tried the Demo and I have to say that I'm definetely going to buy it. At first I didn't like the combat but as I got more displacement skills it got really fun. And I find the story super interesting, or should I say *stories*. There's two timelines happening and you can do thing in one that affect the other, this is done so that you can advance in that particular timeline. It's a clever way of making sure the player is experiencing both at the same time. So, overall, once I'm done with the games I'm playing I'll buy this one.

Somehow, i didn't notice/recall the feb release date.
Very surprised to see the launch trailer and had to check amazon to confirm (arriving today). This may well be my last hurrah on the 3ds.
Hopefully the rerelease is a sign of a series coming out of this. I don't want this to show up on switch later now that i've bought it, but i'm hoping it's return is a sign of continuation. A sequel or a mechanic successor somewhere down the line would be good. this game does not deserve to fly under the radar twice.
I think playing about scribblenauts unlimited and the very next day a new one is announced. I think about playing radiant historia again and then this comes out. HOW NINTENDO, HOW?
