It’s been so long... I can’t believe it’s been well over 7 years since the game released here, let alone the 9 it’s been in Japan. Truly a masterpiece and the best game on the console, now with a much more than worthy predecessor on the Switch...
I couldn’t agree with you more, the Bravely is one of the most innovative JRPG series I’ve ever played, with each new game instantly becoming my all time favorite game.

To people commenting on the Final Fantasy similarities, the Bravely Default series was originally conceptualized as a spiritual successor to an installment in the FF series. So, yes, the similarities were intentional.

Any fans of SnK (aka Attack on Titan)... The man (Revo) who wrote the intro to that show also wrote the soundtrack/music for this awesome game!

Most of you think that this game looks like FF9. Well, it makes sense because it's developed by Square Enix.

And it is a spiritual successor to Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light, so that's that.
It DOES remind me of FF9..but with it being developed by Square Enix it makes sense..the visuals look AMAZING in this game,and I can't wait to buy it :D

The choir singing at the beginning reminds me of Kingdom Hearts, when you're in Hollow Bastion.

The graphics are so stylish and pretty. The polygon count might be low but the beautiful textures, lighting, and vibrant colors are great. The gameplay is very interesting too.
What makes it even better is that everything is hand-drawn ;)

Flying around using a spaceship on a worldmap ? sick detailed backgrounds and interesting towns ? Could this be that long awaited game called, Final Fantasy 13 ? ...oh, wait...that already happened, but this somehow looks more like an FF game to me than that did...whats up with that.

The Brave/Default mechanic is actually pretty interesting! The demo looks stunning on my 3DS XL! Can't wait to get the actual game!
I'm so glad they are using the kind of art style FFT4HOL used, it looks so pretty in this game. And the English voice acting isn't too bad, I mean granted I'd prefer to play it in Japanese with English subtitles, but it isn't horrible. I'm not going to rip my ears off or something from how it sounds, it works fine as it is.

Despite being totally aware that this will be nearly identical to every RPG that Square Enix has ever released, there's something about the formula that I can't resist. It's like a drug.
I've wanted to play Bravely Default since the moment I ever saw it. I'm finally going to be playing it this year around November and I am looking forward to it. It looks like one good game.

I hope all y'all who say you've been waiting for a classic JRPG like this for a long time, also bought all the exceptional Dragon Quest games that came out on the DS (most notably V and IX). And if not, go out and get them! Dragon Quest IX is always on sale for like 15 bucks and stole hundreds of hours of my life. Maybe if more people buy copies Nintendo will be enticed to bring over the other 5 Dragon Quest Games that are stuck in Japan. DQVII looks like it would be a perfect follow up to Bravely Default as they are similar in many ways.
I really wish Nintendo would focus on making more games like this instead of relying only on Mario & Zelda. Don't get me wrong, I love those two franchises to death, but they seriously need a break. I know Nintendo got games like Fire Emblem, Kirby & Pokémon etc., but they don't advertise them that much nor do they soully focus on them like they do with Mario & Zelda. I think it's time for Nintendo to focus on something other than Mario & Zelda and advertise more games like this and bring back old franchises like StarFox, F-Zero and Metroid if they want to appeal the hardcore audiences again just like how they did in the N64/Gamecube Era. But until then, I'm really happy to see that Nintendo finally focused on a game like this.
You do realize this is developed by Square Enix, right? I do understand and agree with your point on Nintendo focusing on other franchises, though.

I just want them to add more variety when it comes to advertising their franchises. If they keep focusing on Mario & Zelda only, Sooner or later people are going to get tired of those franchises...And I honestly don't want that to happen.

I love people bashing this game because it's too similar to FF. It's by the same company, FFS. And yet this looks more interesting than FFXIII, 2, 3. I'm getting this.

This looks amazing. The second screen with touch input can do so much for RPGs that I hope something like it comes to the Wii U as well.

this is a interesting concept, you can do many attack in one turn with brave in exchange of other turn, so it make you think about your turn organization
This game was so freaking good 10/10. Best 3ds game so far. Anyone who likes rpg/adventure games this is a must buy.

***** You should really try the demo, then. It's a very solid demo, and it gives a good taste of the gameplay. The demo itself took about a weekend or so to finish, so there's a lot of content to see! :)

Game looks great for what it is, a old school JRPG. Wonder how long it would be? Cause i sadly do not have time for a 60+ hour game where most of it is turn based combat..sounds horrible but that's how it is now.
glad SQEX are going back to a more classical rpg style; yes it looks like some of the older ff games... but who says that's a bad thing?
