We were there this same day!! My brother-in-law is in the background of this video!! So much fun this day. We really enjoyed the sand dollars 🥰 We just love your videos.
You must have been in the same heaven I was! What an amazing day to be out there!
By far the best shelling adventure yet. Wow, all the amazing live horse conches and live lighting whelks. The amount of amazing live critters was fabulous. Loved the albino nutmeg. This was a stunning shelling adventure.
I wish every beach day could be like this one!
Had to take a break from all of the devastation videos and found yours. Sanibel is our heaven on earth. Pray you were kept safe from any harm.
So much fun I’m so happy for you 🐚🐚🐚🐚
Thank you!
I love my Sunday evening shelling adventures with you.. This was one of the best so far.. Lots of great shells and all of the live horse conchs, wow.. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for coming along!
I Love Ali's Tours!!!! Everytime that I do a tour is with her and we always come back home Happy
She is such a doll! I have no trouble recommending her and her services! ❤️
I've had the pleasure of joining you virtually for so many awesome adventures, but this has got to be one of, if not the BEST of all the days!!! Just the amount of shells and creatures to experience!!! What a beautiful haul you were able to bring home!!! I could watch for hours and not get bored!! Only thing that could be better would to be there in person! Stay safe and thanks for sharing your adventures with us!!
This beach visit was truly special. There were so many things to check out! I love days when there are critters and shells so I was in heaven! Thanks so much for coming along with me!
The storm really churned up the ocean bed and the shelled sea life. What a great adventure of discovery on this beach! 🇺🇸 Jess
Beachcombing after a good winter storm is THE BEST!!! Thanks so much for coming along!
@@SWFBeachLife Truly my pleasure. I miss the Keyes and your walk alongs are wonderful and rejuvenating. Always fun and enjoyable. ❤️🇺🇸
Soooo jelly !! Love your videos!
Your channel is growing like crazy, that's wonderful!!
I'm so excited! I hope it keeps up the momentum! 🙏🏼
That island had a lot of horse conchs and all live. That is amazing to see! Aw bummers, that was a big lightning welk but occupied by a hermit crab. Nice to see the critters. A lot of good shells you found there. Great video.
Ohhhh.. a Midwest girl’s shell paradise. To be able to find so many beautiful shells in one place!!! So jealous!
It was truly paradise!
You are one of my favorite youtubers! I look forward to seeing you pop up every Sunday!!
Yay! Thank you!
This was interesting. Different from your rout tour. Lovely
Love shelling though I have no clue of the shell names. Will re watch your videos over and over until I get them right. This was very fun treasure hunt! Hope to visit one of these islands one day.
This was an especially interesting and enjoyable video 👍🏻 I loved how you showed us the live creatures and explained their habits 🐌 and also was excited to learn things omitted in other videos (Bubbles fluoresce, for example). I hadn’t known the name of some of the “common” shells you pointed out today - which I’m very grateful for ❤Top marks for this excursion!!!
Thank you so much for watching! 🙏🏼
Hey Charmon (hope I spelled that correctly, if not I apologize). My wife Christina and I (we are big fans) are literally going there tomorrow morning to kayak out to Dickmans. It will be our final big beach day before heading back up north. Just wanted to say we love your videos, content, and production, and always look forward to watching. Even tonight as we sit in our hotel room on sanibel lol. You have taught both of us so very much about this wonderful area of southwest Florida, and the critters that inhabit the waters. Thank you so very much! Continue the good work, and happy shelling

Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Shawn & Christina I hope you have an amazing trip and find lots of fabulous souvenirs to bring home! Thank you for coming along with me on my beach adventures!
OMG!!! What fun this video was; ah-maze-ing! I hated to see it end.
Thanks so much!

Wow! Nice haul@
3 years ago, I won a trip to Florida (I'm French) and due to the sanitary situation, the borders have closed a week before our trip, which has been postponed 4 times since then. I've been watching your videos since we first got locked down, and I was both hopefull to get there one day and scared that we might not make it. Today, we got the passeport that we were waiting for for 3 months, and we will finally visit Sanibel island in a few weeks !!! Thanks to you, I'm much better prepared to identify all the beach treasures we will come across ;)
That is amazing!!! I'm so glad after all this time you'll finally be able to visit! It's so beautiful and tranquil - and I hope you find lots of souvenirs on the beach to remember your trip by! Safe travels!
Hello My Friend! Another great and really informative video. Spent all week looking at mobile homes for sale in some of the communities down there. I am soooo ready. Hopefully not to much longer. Do you clean your shells when you get home or do you wait to get an abundance like at the end of the week, and then clean them? How do you get rid of the acid when you are done with it?
I enjoy these videos very much and can't wait to get moved there.
Once again Thank You and Awesome Sunday Video.
I try to organize the shells as soon as I get home but it doesn't always work like that! I keep my acid in a mason jar so I can use it over and over and I tend to put those shells to the side and dip them all at once. Once I'm done with the acid I add water and baking soda until it stops bubbling and then I dump it in a part of my yard where I don't plan on growing anything - just in case. I hope you find your dream home soon!
Looks like the horse conchs were also having a convention or a time out! Just an awesome video!!! Thank you so much!
It was such a great to see so many gorgeous shells AND critters! Thanks so much for coming along!
This adventure was just a huge slice of shell heaven! Thank you Sharmon!!! The alphabet the hinged jewel boxes.. the live critters..all those horse conchs tails up!! So wish I was there!!!
It was SO much fun! I'm so glad I was able to experience that beach on that day!
Holy Shell Sunday, you have out done yourself on this one I have watched you for over 2+ yrs and this has been my favorite. I planed our vacation to be in Marco and I can not wait. Thank you so much.
It was a pretty spectacular day out there. I hope your trip to Marco is outstanding and you find lots of souvenirs!
Love shells and sand dollars
What a gorgeous day! All those treasures just laying there for you to pick them up....priceless!!!😎
I cannot believe how many shells there were on that beach. That was really something! Love the albino nutmeg and the limpet... so many beautiful shells!
Oh I am green with envy. What an amazing place and so many shells. I would not have been able to drag myself away. Stay safe
Wow!!!
Great video! Love seeing the live creatures! Thank you. 😀❤️
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love it
So many horses! I couldn't tell if you were at the beach or Churchill Downs! Another wonderful video. So cool!
LOL! I've never seen so many live ones in one place either. It was awesome!
As always, love the video. Oh, and by the way... If you run out of room for the beautiful alphabet cones you pick up, you can send them my way as they all do have my initials on them. Haha. Cant wait for next weeks video.
LOL!! I'll keep that in mind! Now I need to find one with my initials!
I was so close to getting myself my first ever apple murex but the top half was broken. So I decided not to hold on to it. 😅
But that did not stop me from doing a show and tell to my mum and husband about my ‘almost’ experience haha! 😂
The shell that almost was 😅 I hope you manage to find yourself a whole one eventually!
I’m so glad I found your channel last year. Your videos are my favorite!! I have learned so much from watching your channel. Thanks for all you do and for sharing your walks and shelling adventures!!🥰🥰
Thank you so much or coming along with me!
The city of Marco should be giving you a key, as I’ve just booked my next trip 😎🌴 your Kentucky friend!
I hope you have the best time while you're here!
Hi! I love your videos so much! I’ve always had an interest in shells and beach/sea creatures! I hope you’re having a good day!
Thank you!
I can’t wait to come back to shell 2/26-3/5! Great video!
I hope you find lots of goodies!
Ich finde ihre Videos so schön, ich möchte dann sofort los und Floridas Strände besuchen.

How awesome to see so many live and healthy horse conches. What a great adventure
Hi Sharmon,
Congratulations with your albino Nutmeg! It's stunning!😍 Ik keep my fingers crossed for you to find an albino Olive.🤞🏻
What a great haul of gorgeous shells. I really LOVE the huge Shark Eye and the Banded Tulip. But to be honest: I love them all. I would be over the moon if I just found one of the shells you found that day.
And all those live Horse Conches. Think I've never seen so many alive in one of your video's.
Thank you so much for taking us with you, I enjoyed every minute of it.
Have a lovely week.
Big hug and lots of love, xoxo ❤️, Ilona
This trip was a last minute decision and I'm so glad I was able to go! It was a wonderful day exploring and to find all the live creatures AND shells? I was in heaven! Thank you for always coming along and I hope you have a wonderful week too!
I love your live critter videos. Mother nature at her best. Enjoyed your video and a cup of coffee. What a wonderful way to start my day. Thank you!
I love this! The beach is the best part of any day! I hope you have a wonderful week!
What a Fantastic day!!!!loved this SO much !!!! Great collection 🥰🧜♀️
Thank you 🤗
Those spiny jewel boxes are sooooo awesome. I would love to have one. Love the murex too. Ok just love them all.
I know - it's really hard to choose just one!
Exceptionally great haul! I loved every minute of it. Thanks for taking us along!
Love it! You deserve A great shell day like that one
This brings so much happiness to my week. We are officially moving in the next 3-6months to the Cape Coral/Ft. Myers area. I currently live in Utah. I will be coming down first, ahead of my husband and son, and I can’t wait to go shelling and call that paradise my new home. Thank you for taking us with you on your adventures. You have taught me so much.
I hope you love it here as much as we do. I pinch myself all the time. I love everything about Florida! Well, I could do without the hurricanes, but it's still worth it!
I I’m commenting a week after hurricane Ian. I hope you all are ok. My place is on the shore Ft Myers Beach. Not much standing I believe we will all recover and be able to rebuild somehow. God bless everyone.
I look forward to seeing you each Sunday night. Seeing the live critters was so awesome. Shell beauty goes without saying. Thank you.
Great shelling day! All the shells are beautiful. I especially love the tops of the lightening whelks. I think the patterns are so unique! Good job resisting picking up 100’s of sand dollars! Excellent self control. 👍 Great walk. 🐚
LOL - yes, I had to ignore the sand dollars or I would have collected them and nothing else! Thanks so much for coming along with me!
Oh my gosh, it was like being a kid let loose in a candy store, I’ll bet! Fantastic trip, thanks for taking us along. Your trip videos are the highlight of my week!
That's what it felt like! I didn't know which way to walk - it was awesome!!
Oh my what a great collection I’m not able to come to Florida this year so am thrilled to find your sight! I see something and am talking to you trying to get you to pick it up. I was so happy when a moment later you have it in your hand. We are in the middle of a three days of blizzard which looks like it may be 4 days as tomorrow is more snow and wind. My daughter from Cape Coral is stuck 90 miles from me with her daughter at college in Fargo ND. We won’t have time to get our visit with her as she needs to head back to Florida:(
I hope you stay safe in that blizzard! I'm so happy my snow shoveling days are over!
Wow all those huge live Horse Conchs. Amazing. So many shells. Fabulous. Thank you so much x
Lucky💜
I happened to notice at 28:17 that there was a leopard spotted something right corner, but it's hard to miss. I didn't know if you had identified it already and if it was garbage.
That leopard thing is the shell (carapace) of a calico box crab. They're beautiful creatures!
@@SWFBeachLife it's amazing! So happy you answered!
Time for beachy goodness! Woohoo! ✨🐠✨
Thank you for sharing this video with us. Also letting us know not to throw shells with critters back into water, rather walk them to water. I heard it can kill them.
They can probably tolerate some tumbling but they aren't meant to be thrown around - that's for sure!
I love to go shelling with you! Thanks so much for taking me along! For just a little while, I can travel back to my home and walk along the beach with you.
Been in the hospital so I've been silent for a good while. Hoping that's all behind me now.
Thanks for the compassion and respect you give to animals who are stranded and putting them back where they belong. It's cool to see how they. Look while they're living in the shells we love. Sometimes, I think it's easy to forget that our treasures were once some animal's home. I have always been mindful of that fact and I'm glad you are, too.
Thanks so much for your great videos. I've enjoyed them immensely.
I hope you are feeling better and thank you for coming along on my virtual beach walk. I was just saying the other day a few years ago I had no idea where shells came from. They were just there on the beach. To find the live animals is such a treat and it's just amazing what Mother Nature can create!
It’s been a really hard day today. Our 17 year old Pug passed away. But watching you getting all those wonderful shells you found. Thank you!
I'm so sorry to hear about your pug. These pets really do make a permanent place in our heart ❤️
Aww, Neta; so sorry. ❤
I've been watching and lusting over your videos for quite some time now. I talk to my sister about flying to Florida to collect shells as part of our bucket list. While no one can guarantee oodles of shells to gather on any given day, is there a specific month of the year that is typically best for shelling? Thank you.
Typically, winter is better for shelling. The NW winds helps bring the sand and shells onto the beach while the summer winds generally drive the shells and sand back out into the gulf. However, it's much more crowded and expensive here in the winter, so it's a hard call. If you're coming for the shells, I would have to say winter and if you aren't finding what you want on the beaches, I would try a shell tour!
This is a dream shelling day! What an amazing haul! Such a generous guide too! Really enjoying this!
wow this was so awesome! Loved all the critters so fun to see!! your end haul was wooee nice! my fav was the little albino nutmeg : )
Oh my goodness!. I didnt want this video to end...beautiful haul!❤
Beautiful video! What do you do with all the shells you collect? How do you display them?
I recently shared my shell collection since so many people had been asking: ua-cam.com/video/Afy0jl0smpE/v-deo.html
And then in this video, I finally got around to making a shell mirror I had been wanting to make: ua-cam.com/video/Mf5SVm8m5n8/v-deo.html
I have a few more projects I'd like to tackle - i just need to find the time!!!
Wow incredible finds! I love how gentle you are with the live critters. Love this video-watching the live critters crawl. Thanks for this fabulous adventure.
Thanks for watching!
Beach friend this was such a great video to watch before work.. I’m saving up to get myself to the beach soon. My dream would be to get to Florida one day to shell and my biggest hope would be to see you with your camera and I would scream “ HEY BEACH FRIIIENDD!!” That would be awesome!!
If I heard "Hello Beach Friend" my head would whip right around looking for who said that! I hope you can come visit these beaches for yourself one day!
What great shelling…I’m so jealous 🥰
Wow!!!! Terrific finds!! Can’t wait till January 2023 to head down to SWF. Thank you for sharing. Love your beach walks
What tour did you use?
I used SWFL Shell Guide. I've gone out with her a few times and she's just the best!
What an amazing sight!! Do the beach birds eat horse conches? I know you tell us not to chase the birds, but I would be so tempted to flag a few down for brunch/lunch... just to speed up the circle of life... 😇 I really wouldn’t but the temptation would be there...
I don't think the birds could tackle one of those horse conchs 😅 I think they're pretty much at the top of the snail food chain and I've never seen the birds mess with them. Scallops and urchins on the other hand tend to end up as snacks if the birds can get to them!
Wow love your videos. I have collected shells from wrightsville beach 40 years ago . Some are similar to yours. I would love to visit down there. My niece moved to Naples. Mike Nichols
Not all beaches were created equally - we really do have the best shells! I hope to do get to visit and maybe find some shells for yourself!
I found your channel, and thoroughly enjoy it. I am curious though, what do you do with all your shells? My family was in Sanibel 10 years ago and we brought home two jars of shells that are still on display.
I'm so glad you found my channel! I recently shared my shell collection since so many people had been asking: ua-cam.com/video/Afy0jl0smpE/v-deo.html

I’m from Boston,MA and I was down by Biloxi MS for work for the weekend. I was excited to look for shells on Biloxi beach, but there were none that day. A local person told me that they really don’t get shells much unless there is a big storm. It was still nice to get my toes in the water. It was cold but I could not resist getting my feet wet.
The ocean has a way of calling to us doesn't it? I'm glad you at least got your toes in the sand and surf and I hope you enjoyed your beach time despite the lack of shells. I'm kind of spoiled here in Florida!
Absolutely amazing. Fun trip I could smell the ocean🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩💜💜
I wish every beach day could be like this one!
Super excited to be returning to Marco Island for my second kayak trip in the ten thousand islands! Headed there in March! Can’t wait!
I hope you find lots of souvenirs!
Excellent video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and the wonderful things you find.
Glad you enjoyed it!
So loved this video! Jack pot of shells! Unfortunately I won't make it to Florida this year. Hubby going down for one grandson's 1st holy communion but I'm headed to Iowa that same weekend, Mother's day weekend. Thanks for taking us along with you ❤️!
You found such wonderful moon snails. it was a truly amazing day. Thanks for the voice-over so we don't have to deal with wind & other noise.. I really appreciate these trips while the snow comes down. Again, Thanx..
My husband and I love watching your Sunday night videos. One day we are going to visit during the winter months. We are summer visitors due to our teaching careers
Winter is VERY crowded, however the shells are much easier to find. If you get lucky enough to visit around the time of a storm, you'll hit the jackpot!
Looks like so much fun! I love “tinies”, those tiny shells to use for decorative purposes, like those shell jewelry boxes.
I went shelling on Saturday (not to make a video - just for fun) and I really had a great time looking for tinies. I'll be sure to feature them one of these days in an upcoming video!
I love hermit crabs there art pieces on display instead of for sale😍
And with all that you found today I wouldn’t be hurtin about not getting there shells
What's that spotted leopard-looking gem at @28:25? ...I was so hoping you'd pick it up! lol
I Believe that to be a leopard Crabshell
That's a calico box crab carapace. I don't normally collect them but quite a few people have commented on them so I'll have to show a better example next time I see one!
@@shellexpedition2013 You know ...I was thinking that it was a crab shell ...but I know them only to be bluish in color ...until they're cooked of course! ...(steamed is the only way to go ...IMO!) Thanks, I will def be googling it!
@@SWFBeachLife Many Thanks to you! I live on Venice Island & really need to get to the beach more often. It's actually embarrassing how often I go. But, I've gotten into rockhounding and making jewelry. I'm interested in upping my game/collection!
Another fantastic shelling day you captured ! Thank you for the Beach walk ! I'll be there soon !!
Amazing day. If I’m ever in the area I will for sure look up your tour guide. Thanks for such awesome content!
I like your new albino nutmeg👏🏻👍
Mike Nichols that was wrightsville beach nc
Thank you for sharing the critters! You found wonderful shells! Thanks for the beach time too.
I am living vicariously through your videos! I live in land locked North Dakota with our 8th winter storm almost upon us & I'm desparately missing my hubby who passed away in 2020. We used to vacation on Florida's Gulf coast where my favorite thing to do was shelling. (I'm going to miss those vacations so much, too) So..thank you so much for your vidoes!
I'm so sorry to hear about your late husband. I hope you two made wonderful beach memories and you have a few shells to remember your trips by. I'm happy I can get you to the beach, even if it's vicariously. ❤️
Hi Kaye. So sorry for your loss. Maybe some day you will make another trek to the beach; who knows? Anyways, you comment touched my heart. I'm holding you up in prayers for blessings head to toe. No doubt, Sharman is a blessing to us all. Stay warm there in North Dakota don't cha know. Thanks for sharing
Wow! that was fantastic! Thanks for sharing :)
Another fabulous video. I love that I can get my shelling fix by watching your great day on the beach!
Oh another lovely beach day hunting shells with my dear friend 🧜🏼♀️🐚 Someday I truly will get to go shelling with you 🤗 Thank you love for another calming beachy video 💕
No worries mermaid - I'll be here! I hope you are good and you have a great week! ❤️
Nice haul and beautiful creatures. I look forward to your post every week. Thanks for taking us with you!
Wonderful alphabet cone! That large lightning whelk was beautiful.....you should have served that hermit crab an
"Eviction notice"! 😂🤣
If only I could drag around an old beat up shell and convince the hermit crabs to change homes! 😅
@@SWFBeachLife what a great idea! i will be toting around a "mobile home" for that explicit purpose!
By change I clicked on an Australian channel, a teenage boy finding, collecting, buying and selling shells. And for prices you can't believe. Those big Florida fighting konk (I don't know how to write it??) orange or darker, they sell e-bay! So, if one day your house is full... Perhaps you can make some money. There are a lot of people like me, who can't search for shells themself but do want them...
Lot's of love from the Netherlands, Daniëlle 😘🙋
I actually did try to sell shells on eBay a while ago and it was such a pain that I just sell my shells through email. I have shipped all over the world at this point so I'd be happy to put some together for you. Warning - shipping to the Netherlands is going to be pricey! If you're really interested by all means, shoot me an email and I can give you the details - swfbeachlife@gmail.com
@@SWFBeachLife I'm afraid that would be too costly for me. It was just a tip for you so you could earn some money... 😉😘

WOW!!! What an exciting walk!! One of the Spiny Jewelbox that you kept looked like a hedgehog. I think if I remember correctly was one of the last one you kept but it was a single one. Thought that was cute. I couldn't believe all the live big shells you were finding!! You did awesomely on this walk!!
Thanks for the beautiful great walk!! I totally wish I was there with you!! Have a great week!! 😊🐬
I know exactly the jewel box you're referring to. I just love when they are all spikey! It was such a fun day between all the great shells and all the amazing creatures. I wish every beach day could be like this!
Wish I could have been there. You found some beautiful treasures.
Awesome shell day!! I live in Sebring, Fl. I moved here from MN a year ago. For my birthday next month, I am going shelling at Sanabel Island. Any tips for me?? It looks like so much fun!! I love shells!!
My best tips are go early, and if you can swing it, try to go at low tide. Lighthouse Beach is probably the most crowded, so to give you a little less competition, I would probably try Bowman's. Biggest public parking lot on the island and you can walk away from the other beach goers and have much more of the beach to yourself!
Very beautiful scenery and shells, will be trying to plan a trip there in the near future
What a wonderful collection of shells! Thanks for sharing !
Oh my gosh what an awesome haul! Unreal the variety and numbers of shells (live and empty) on the beach that day. Fantastic shelling! Thanks! ...could I use a few more exclamation marks? Lol!
I wish every beach day could be like this one!
Thank you so much for the videos. I just found you on UA-cam. I could watch you all day. I love the beach. We have family that are in Myrtle Beach. We don’t get to go very often cause we are in western NC. So I love spending time on the beach with you.
Wow. Great shelling!
