I have been in bed with a medical problem for a few weeks. Watching your shows makes me feel so much better! Seeing the shells, water and hearing your friendly voice feels healing. Thank you for sharing your beach visits with me! May God bless you!
Smart lady! Find something interesting to watch on UA-cam instead of the "regular" boring TV. I hope you recover quickly and maybe even learn a thing or two about these shells 😃
I can't wait for Sunday shelling with you. This time was really nice because it went faster. I love hunting the shells and don't want the video's to end. Wish they were longer because of all the shellers out there you are my favorite. When we have beech time I can hardly wait to get back to shelling. I am just an old person who knows I will never get to the beech again but love shells. In my daughters finished basement there are ball jars full of different kinds we picked up on vacations. From Ohio Thanks for the wonderful shelling. Love it and you with your personality and soothing voice. I would love to buy a few nutmeg with different colors. I will try and find where you sell. Hugs
I'm glad I can get you to the beach with me! I love the shells, don't get me wrong, but I'm starting to really appreciate the entire experience of going to the beach. I am so lucky to live here and I appreciate you taking the time to leave me such a lovely note. I hope you have a great week!
I enjoy the beach time and shelling. Wow, love the lace murex, apple murax, colorful moon snails, the true tulips, banned tulips, spinny jewel boxes, and all the other wonderful shell. There are just so many shells and I enjoy the time very much. This is my getaway time, and I get to relax and enjoy the sounds of the water and seeing all the beautiful shells. Thank you so much for sharing your shelling videos. I take care of my mom 24/7 and when I have a few mins to enjoy, relax, and destress. Have a great day.
I learned this past month about the Phoenicians and their purple dye they were famous for....what a labor to harvest a little gland of purple puss from a murex shell! I was blown away. Which is why purple fabric was so expensive!
My weekly dose of Beach Life is completed, thanks to you! I live in Michigan, but I have a friend that just moved to Nokomis. I look forward to visiting and shelling...and thanks to you I will recognize so many shells!! 😊 ❤️
Holy sand dollars!!! Awesome. Love the yellow calico scallops 😍. Thanks for taking us along on amazing day shelling as always! Always excited when a new video drops😁🥰
Last week when I visited the Bahamas, I had picked up a sand dollar but I hadn't known what it was, thankfully I researched what this strange thing was right away and I realized it was alive and ran to put it back in the ocean! This was when I began binging TONS of your videos! (I fell in love with seashells). Sadly, my beach didn't have any crazy finds but I did manage to find very small ones that I love so much! I love your videos so much, I'm planning to visit my cousin in Florida soon, hopefully I'll be able to go shelling!
I'm late today! Got busy feeding kitties and working on a hard crochet pattern.😮💨 Yes, dear Beach Angel, let's go to the beach! What a hoss of a Lettered Olive! Do ya need a doorstop? Those sand dollars from the water are HUGE! But they're BABY fighting conchs! They don't weigh so much! He's not a freak, he just has a wart! That's what I call a barefoot hazard, the spiny jewel box. Such a pretty Nautica! Yay for you getting all the little and for digging out that old bag! Good on you, Sharmon! That scallop was injured or broken and it healed itself! Ribbed cantharis shells look sort of like wenteltraps! Maybe that's the attraction for you! You got a good haul for early summer, Angel! They're so pretty! Much love to the Beach Angel and to all the would-be beach bums out there! Hope you all have a fun and safe holiday! The Lost Mermaid 🧜
I do not know what is going on for me, but summer is supposed to be slow and I keep finding myself delighted! I won't question these things and will merely continue to enjoy the bounty that is the beach. Thank you for sharing my joy with me!
Our grandsons visiting, and we watched the program together, usually we do face time. Charlie announced “Grammie, she uses words like you, something called iota.” Love the real tulip, great fund.
Hi Sharmon, Thank you so, so much for taking us with you on your shelling adventures! Things are going quite bad here in the health department, and your videos are really the highlight of my week! What a great haul of shells!😍 Congratulations on your albino prickly cockle and the semi albino FFC! One day, you will find your albino olive! (And your junonia) I hope you have a wonderful week. Sending you all my love and, of course, a big hug, xoxo ❤, Ilona
Hi Ilona! I'm so happy to hear from you! This summer has been so different than the other summers I've experienced here. I keep expecting the beaches to be bare, but they keep letting me find treasures. It's been so fun! And I'm wondering if my panic about not being able to make a video is finally gone. When I first started this channel I would get really concerned if I wasn't finding anything great, because who wants to watch boring beach videos, but I think I figured out there is no such thing as a boring beach video! There is ALWAYS something to grab my interest to explore or investigate. And the little things that delight me can always be found. Sending you love and sunshine in exchange for your awesome hugs. ❤️🐚🌴🌊
It looks like some of the broken sand dollars may have still been alive when they got damaged and healed before they passed away and washed up on the beach. I love gaudy nautica. Over colorful moon snail, so many of the other species are rather colorful too 😂 I also still like to hear you name the species of shell and I like that there's no background noise while you are narrating the beach trip. I love "beach time". I love the critters. I just love your videos ❤❤❤ Thank you for sharing your beach trips❤ See you next Sunday.
WOW!! All those shells, amazing and beautiful!! Going out tomorrow to see what I can find, can’t wait!! @11:14 beside the live big shell was what looked like a coin, did you pick it up? I’m so use to watching Bondi Treasure Hunter and the coins his magnet finds in waters where he magnet fishes that when I see a round object in the water on a video I wonder if it’s a coin, especially in Florida waters due to how many ships went down. You never know. 😃 I did look up the gross Parchment worm and I’ve never seen something that looked like a Frankenstein worm before. It looks like it’s made up of 4 different parts of other worms and sewn together. Not something you’d want to see in person. Loved every shell you picked up!! It’s just so beautiful to spend time down at the water’s edge. Thanks Sharmon for a beautiful video of doing what we all want to do!! Low tide here tomorrow so we’re going to see what we can find!!😃 Have a great week and stay safe!!🥰🐬🥰
I hope you had good luck at low tide! I went to FMB low tide last week and it was AWESOME! That "coin" was a jingle - I would definitely pick up real money coins if I saw it. Finding pirates treasure would be awesome! I hope you have a great week too and Happy 4th! 🇺🇸
I am so glad to see you back. I have a real good friend that lives in Florida and was very concerned for her when the hurricane 🌀 hit Florida. Glad you are safe and back collecting and teaching and telling us about all kinds of different seashells 😁and beautiful sand dollars♥️
I love all your videos. I really like how you identify every one that you pick up. I live in Ohio, and have family in FortMyers area. It makes it much easier to identify shells when we go and visit! Thank you for all your great videos. Oh, and "Beach Time" is great, too!
That albino cockle is awesome! I've yet to find a single one of those. I'd think the albino olives are rarer than junonias, maybe one day. I agree the drills are mauve-mouth drills - practice makes perfect!
I have been finding those albino prickly cockles all over! Even yesterday on FMB there were a few. I agree that the albinos are indeed more rare than the J's. I am really loving finding these "weirdo" shells!

Absolutely gorgeous love that I can get my fix of shells haven't been able to pick shells myself in a while because I'm in a wheelchair but I absolutely love watching your videos thank you so much 😘🫶🏻💙
I look forward to this show. Thank you thank you thank you. So relaxing. Can't wait till I'm able to collect my own. I live in the city and dream of the beaches.
Loved this beach tour. I love littles. Scallops were so beautiful. I will have nightmares after looking at that worm. The beach I like to frequent has tons of periwinkles. They are so cute.
I definitely want to check out fort Myers beach and sanibel but I have only lived here for a year and a half, I should convince my mother to take me down by that area after seeing these videos
I have yet to find any sand dollars in my recent shell experiences in Florida, but I plan to keep on trying and hopefully I will visit a couple more of those 10,000 islands🤍 the day I went. We only visited Morgan Island. I’m hoping to get to Kais and Dickman and all of the other ones that I can possibly get to !!
I’m on vacation for the next two weeks and I was thinking about vacationing down there with you but I couldn’t find anywhere I wanted to stay. One place was a goat farm where I could volunteer. Another was clothes optional. 😆🤣😂 So I decided to find something to do in Pennsylvania. 😊This coming Christmas I’ll be in Bali with my son and his family. So I’ll be hitting the beaches there for shells. I’m so excited! Maybe next year for the 4th I’ll get to visit Florida. I know It’s hot but I’ll beat the crowds and the rates will be better than during the winter.
My sister and I will be visiting a cousin that lives on Marco Island. We will be there end of Oct thru 1 st week of November. Can you tell me which beaches would be the best to shell on? I’ve never been to Florida for a vacation so…… it will be interesting ☺
I love your video, im a shell nut. How did you learn all of those names? What do you do with your shells 🐚 and do you clean them all the same way? Thanks 😊 I'll stay tuned for your next video. Happy Shelling Cindy in Jacksonville Fl
Hi shell nut! I've taught myself everything I know with a few books, the internet and a few tips from subscribers when I through a question out there. I have made a video about what I do with my shells ua-cam.com/video/GZQVCKCJQZk/v-deo.html And I actually made a video about cleaning shells too: ua-cam.com/video/iSdo31kqLkQ/v-deo.html
They sure are! The colorful moonsnails have two names for some reason and I use them interchangeably. I try to remember to tell people they have 2 names!
Thank you for the visit to Dickmans and Kice Islands!! I'm curious about how you keep hinged shells hinged. Do you try to keep them open, or closed? Thank you...
If I want to keep the shell hinged I'll put it in my little container for delicates and sand dollars. It works most of the time. The coquinas I like opened, so I dry them flat but the hinged spiney jewel boxes I like closed. It depends on the shell 😃
Colorful Moon Snails and Lace Murex are so exotic looking--I never get tired of watching you find them! I have a question about the hinged spiny jewel boxes, or any hinged shell. I managed to bring several home, but only 1 survived the bleach bath. Do you not bleach them for as long as others, or not at all? Or does your bleach not weaken or destroy the hinges? I really didn't mind, because the shells are still beautiful, but as I travel and find more, I would like to know! Thanks for another fun video. I forgot it was Sunday, and was so excited when I saw you had posted a new adventure!
I don't bleach anything that I want to keep that hinge intact. Sometimes I throw the hinged shells in the bleach to see what happens, but that hinge is just a tendon-like material, so it will dry out and get brittle. When they are still flexible I put the shell in the position I want it in, whether it's flat or closed, and once it dries it keeps that shape. Unless I accidentally snap it 😂
I don't think so - I went to Honeymoon Island, a little north of that and found TONS of fantastic shells. It was February so the shells were better, but this should give you an idea of what you might find: ua-cam.com/video/qZcG9x99cNc/v-deo.html
Going to kill devils hill in North Carolina this august and would love to get a book on seashells to take with me and wanted to know what is a good seashell book to get? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and helpful. 😁 Have a Blessed and Safe Fourth of July 🇺🇸! Love from Virginia 😁
I'm starting to learn there are certain "families" of shells that live all over the world, but certain shells only live in certain areas - so I would get a book specific to the area that you will be looking for shells. I have the Florida version of this book by these writers - I would get this one! amzn.to/3recomr
Not a particular beach no - I wish! They are definitely easier to find on the East Coast compared to the West Coast. That much I can tell you. I think I've found one on the West Coast and I've found pieces quite a few times on the East Coast.
I love September because it's still warm and not crowded yet. The shells aren't quite coming back at that time yet though. I usually notice them getting better again in October.
I honestly live to hear "Hellooooo Beach Friends.!
Me, too! I think my blood pressure drops twenty points!
@@ittybittykittymama7582I know exactly what you mean!😊

I love your video's. I can't wait to see them. They make my day so much better. Keep on shelling.

LOVE the walks, it was fun as always. Great treasures. Have a great week. See you Sunday! XOXO
Would you put out a list of islands and beaches listing the most common shells found on each?
I am actually thinking of making a special series of videos and I would indeed include information like that!
I went to Dickmans last night and got a monster horse conch! It was amazing!
Congratshellations! 🐚🐚🐚
What a amazing day shelling!!!
those two yellow Calico scallops were so beautiful 💛🐚
Love the calico scallop with the barnacle that had matching colors on it
I love the irregularly shaped sand dollars! Living vicariously through you!
I live vicariously through you on the beach❤
😉
Ohhhhh the little wentle traps that were missed at 14:06 I'm so sad for youuuuu it was so pretty!
I hope someone else found them! 🐚
I usually take a Rubbermaid or hefty sandwich container and put a few paper towels in there. I put my sand dollars and fragile ones in there.
Oh having paper towels for a little cushion to protect them further is a good idea!
I can't wait to come to SW Florida in February!!! Wonderful video and awesome finds!!!
those lace murex's are so pretty❤
That albino cockle is awesome! I've yet to find a single one of those. I'd think the albino olives are rarer than junonias, maybe one day. I agree the drills are mauve-mouth drills - practice makes perfect!

Omg. All those sand dollars. lol. Wow
Loved this beach tour. I love littles. Scallops were so beautiful. I will have nightmares after looking at that worm. The beach I like to frequent has tons of periwinkles. They are so cute.
And that is why I didn't show that worm in the video 😂 I didn't want to give people nightmares!
What great gifts!
Beautiful as always 😍
Great finds!
I am enjoying your knowledge.

Very nice
Love your videos!
Thank you!! 🙏🏼
AWESOME DAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH FOR SHARING !!!!!! ❤🧡💛💙💚💜🤎💕
Thank you so much for coming to the beach with me!
You’ve probably heard this before. In Oregon there are sand dollars, but in the Pacific Northwest, they don’t have keyholes.
I actually have a few from an exchange that I did. It's so interesting the different ways these creatures are created!
I found the biggest Banded tulips this week wish I could send you pictures
Feel free to shoot me an email swfbeachlife@gmail.com.
My sister and I will be visiting a cousin that lives on Marco Island. We will be there end of Oct thru 1 st week of November. Can you tell me which beaches would be the best to shell on? I’ve never been to Florida for a vacation so…… it will be interesting ☺
Marco Island is a fabulous place to start! Tigertail beach on the North end is great and the south end is fabulous too if you can catch a low tide.
I love your video, im a shell nut. How did you learn all of those names? What do you do with your shells 🐚 and do you clean them all the same way?
Thanks 😊 I'll stay tuned for your next video.

Hi shell nut! I've taught myself everything I know with a few books, the internet and a few tips from subscribers when I through a question out there.

19:04 to the right of your hand, is that an albino olive or is it just bleached out?
That's just bleached out. I'm still looking for that albino version!
We'll be at North Reddington the second week in Nov. is it necessary for us to go down to Kice in order to find Fighting Conch, Venus, and Cones?
I don't think so - I went to Honeymoon Island, a little north of that and found TONS of fantastic shells. It was February so the shells were better, but this should give you an idea of what you might find: ua-cam.com/video/qZcG9x99cNc/v-deo.html
Going to kill devils hill in North Carolina this august and would love to get a book on seashells to take with me and wanted to know what is a good seashell book to get? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and helpful. 😁
Have a Blessed and Safe Fourth of July 🇺🇸! Love from Virginia 😁
I'm starting to learn there are certain "families" of shells that live all over the world, but certain shells only live in certain areas - so I would get a book specific to the area that you will be looking for shells. I have the Florida version of this book by these writers - I would get this one!

Have you ever found a good place to find lion paws?
Not a particular beach no - I wish! They are definitely easier to find on the East Coast compared to the West Coast. That much I can tell you. I think I've found one on the West Coast and I've found pieces quite a few times on the East Coast.
When is the best time of the year to shell in your area? Is September good?
I love September because it's still warm and not crowded yet. The shells aren't quite coming back at that time yet though. I usually notice them getting better again in October.
Did you pick out the Wentletrap at 14.08? did you see it? I was yelling at the screen, but not sure you heard me!
I missed it - but a bunch of other eagle-eyed people did indeed see it! I can't believe I keep missing them 🤣
Did you happen to catch a ride back to Goodland with Ali on this trip??
Yes - I went with Ali with SWFL Shell guide on this trip 😃
What do you do with all the shells?? I bring them home and don't know what to do with them
