Every guy Pope brought in can flat out play. I firmly believe this team is flying way under the radar, and I'm all for it. We have a team stocked with seasoned vets, and they all know what it takes to win as a team. The chemistry will be just fine. The skillsets are top notch, AND complimentary. The only thing to worry about is how quickly they pickup and adapt to Pope's offense. This team will compete for the top of the SEC, and I see them as a second weekend team, for sure. An Elite 8 wouldn't shock me at all.
I am excited for the Pope era. I believe the game has changed quite a bit since Coach Cal arrived in 2009, and it seems that that style of "one and done" is no longer the way to hang banners at Rupp. Looking at UConn's success is what I am looking at thinking this is the direction the game has gone. We have to change with the times to be relevant.
@@lccampbell7112 With all due respect, this year's team doesn't contain any one and done's. Unless you consider the senior players one and done's, but that isn't quite the same thing. I think Pope will go after a few of those types in the future, but he won't be putting 5 freshmen on the court and hoping for the best like his predecessor.
@@apostlepaul62 Neither will Cal, but I can guarantee u that ever coach at any school will take all the 5 star players they can get regardless of if they are a one and done candidate or not 👍
@@lccampbell7112 I would say you are right. That might help some schools sell tickets for their team, and those teams might do OK, but personally I wanna see more banners in the rafters at Rupp. I gotta say i am excited about Pope and his staff. They have so much to prove about themselves that I think they can do some great things at UK. :)
@@apostlepaul62 Lots of teams would like that also , but with the amount of good players available today, there will be more and more upset. UConn has won two in row but that is a rare feat. The reality is if a team could win one championship in a ten year period that would be more realistic. This NIL deal has really thrown a curve ball into all sports. Then when u throw in the rules in transport portal and the way players are allowed to move around man it’s like every year you have to start with a whole new team. I wouldn’t want to be a coach today not with this mess.
SEC will be loaded once again this season and as much as I like our defense I don’t think our offense will be good enuff to win many games vs top SEC teams , the Duke vs UK early season game should answer our questions about how good this team Is .
Lets go BBN 4L. Our future looks bright
You mean KY is gunna be watching tape? How dare we! I'm sure Arkansas is going to as well.
Wouldn't count on it

Yeah and Bama , Tenn , auburn, Florida, old miss Arkansas , so what’s your point 🥱🥱🥱
Good show. I'm firmly in football mode right now, but eager to see what Pope can do this year. Not expecting top 4 finish in the SEC.

BYU beat the best of the BIG 12 their first year in the league with a team of Mormons. If UK has a season similar to them, I would be very happy.
I think ky will be better what the experts saying...
New begining.go BB
Pope will be great at Ky ! BBN
Yeah.....ready to watch Kentucky get bounced in the first round again, if they get that far
That shouldn’t be a problem considering Cal is at Arkansas now!!
Wouldn't count on it at farcasas
I'm sure pope will do better then billy g...haha
