Kentucky is one of at least three or four SEC teams with a sizable gap between their ceiling and floor. Some of these teams will hit their ceiling, and some will hit their floors. It's going to make this the wildest, most chaotic season in recent memory.

It’s because it’s a lot of unknown. If Stoops can get out of his own way and let the play develop around his personnel instead of insisting on his Youngstown OH style, anything could happen. It’s fun being a KY fan 😂.

Kentucky easily has a top 15 defense, maybe top 5 or 10 if a few things work out to their advantage. The season, then, comes down to how well the retooled offense works. They have excellent WRs, a deep but not spectacular TE group, but they are unproven in two areas: Tailback and QB. They are very talented but inexperienced at both positions. And how they develop will determine the season for Kentucky.

This has to be stoops best performances of his career. They have talented guys here.

Their schedule is certainly not easy.

@@GoatedAtNFSit’s been easy for forever, I’m glad they finally have a real SEC schedule. They have benefitted from a watered down east, cross conference opponent of Mississippi State, a subpar Louisville team prior to last year, and 3 other nobodies in out of conference. There is no 3 game runway for the Cats this year.

@@jonathanhampton8379 benefitted? last ten years, 0-10 vs UGA, 2-8 vs UT, 7-3 vs Missouri, 7-3 vs Vanderbilt, 6-4 vs South Carolina. some of these wins were off kick FGs, not by being completely better than the other team. but that’s a combined 22-28.
last ten years vs the west, 6-16. most of the wins came from Mississippi State. most of the losses come from Alabama and Ole Miss combined.
so that combined record of 28-44. they’ve still finished with top 10 SOS 4 times in the past 10 years. they’ve always been handed them a near gauntlet every year, whether the team is good or bad. no divisions will make things worse + Texas and Oklahoma and that NIL

@@GoatedAtNFS scheduling in the SEC is tough no matter what but drawing Miss St., and having a terrible Louisville team in recent years (prior to Brohm), plus 3 nobody non cons and a watered down east is as good a draw as one could hope for in the conference.

Very hard to listen to when constantly talking over each other.
Thanks for the cool storyline on Brock and OK though.

The only thing aTm has over Kentucky is more money and a bigger recrutiing homebase. Both schools football wise are basically the same as far as football royalty/prestige.

Kentucky has a better chance of not making a bowl over making the playoff.

Nick Roush is such a tool. UK can’t beat Tenn . They cant beat Missouri . They can’t beat Georgia . They can’t beat ole miss . And he over here saying “ can u imagine UK beats Georgia with brick veandergriff ?” . “I can see a scenario where UK goes into the Texas game saying is this for a playoff spot ?” Bro , stop with the drugs . Uk could maybe find a way to 8-4? That’s the ceiling . And that’s not a playoff caliber season. I don’t think UK beats Florida is this year . UK has won like 3 of last 4 , and Florida plays a brutal schedule , but Florida has more talent , and this is graham mertz 2nd season starting at Florida. He will be better this year , than last year. Hate to say it this early , but UK is going to have to play their best game of the season to beat Tenn in Knoxville . Uk has won one maybe 2 times in the last 40 years (I think it’s once but could be wrong ) . Tenn at home , is extremely hard to beat under heupel for any teams not named Georgia . Heupel is 1-1 versus bama in Knoxville in his 4 years at Tenn . Neyland is full on back and UK couldn’t even beat Tenn , in Lexington last year , with freaking joe Milton at QB . I mean come on Milton wasn’t very good last year it was the run game and improved scoring defense that carried Tenn to 9-4 record. Nico even as a first year starter will be MUCH better than Milton . He may not be Hendon Hooker level good , but he doesn’t need to be versus teams like Kentucky , vandy , etc. I’ll say it again, Nick Roush u better pull for UK to make a bowl, before you start talking about playoff runs. If you ask me ? U are setting the fan base up for heart break and unrealistic expectations. UK is a lot closer to 7-5 , than they are 10-2 . I think they could go 8-4 , tops , and that’s with beating Tenn or Florida or both , and that’s asking a lot too. Will Levis was a NFL caliber QB and he couldn’t beat Tenn, it’s not just 1 position or player than wins games . If uk can’t hold Tenn under 40 points , does it matter of vandergriff shreds them? Nope , no it doesn’t. Defense has been the issue in Tenn vs UK games since the arrival of heupel. Tenn has scored 40+ twice , and no less than 33 points in all 3 Meetings. NICK ROUSH IS A 🤡

Him also saying they’ll beat SC by 2 or 3 scores is kinda wild after losing to them 2 years in a row. That’s not going to be an easy game in week 2
