carbon hadean, still one of my favorites. Like we chatted about, i been all about team carbon too lately and started on bamboo too. But that resistance while carving i love. having that flex rebound during carving, i just dont like right now. but thats the glory of these boards. can always change it up 💯🤘🏼🤘🏼 just like u said, experiment. we are very strong on that. manyy variations with these 2 in 1 boards. . happy to see ya back homie

I’m not gonna say you owe us a ton of videos BUT YOU OWE IS A TON OF VIDEOS…!!!😂😂😂
Just play’n man. So good to see you back and yes. I have something to add. I call it the 6rules of newbie esk8
    1. Don’t compare your board to anyone else’s. This is the easiest way to fool yourself into a new board.
    2. Your style or riding will not be appreciated by everyone else. If you try to change to their style of riding you will never find yours
    3. The only thing that limits your fun on your board is your mind.
    4. The biggest thing that destroys your fun on your board is your dependence on trying to keep up with everyone else’s boards
    5. It is not range that limits your fun. The real problem is how much fun you have while eating up that range
    6. The most dangerous thing about esk8 is getting comfortable. You can not stay safe if you’re comfortable. The safest, fastest, smoothest riders in the world got there by being uncomfortable first.

Chris, love this - I ate up all your content as I considered Evolve's sale, landing on the carbon GTR AT v2 as my first eboard. By back catalogue, I watched your evolution (lol) from the urethane wheels to AT, and the comments about the usage and intent. At 6'2" / 205lbs the choice was pretty obvious... but, your comments about hauling vs. carving were sage. I've had this for nearly a month and I can rail the turns while also hammering the throttle on the straights plus rippin' drifts in the grass. I have no buyer's remorse, and this was a great reverse-validation. Rock on and post as much as you feel; good content speaks for itself.

I've noticed the Hadean carbon deck isn't as stiff as the earlier carbon decks, which are a little too stiff. The GT carbons that I have like to fill with water like a bathtub: Lids on tops of decks aren't the best idea. Bamboo decks can be easily adjusted for stiffness by laminating more glass layers to them, something I do usually in conjunction with routing out and sanding flatter bottoms to, as I'm probably also making double stack segmented enclosures and ride on thane wheels. I also think that as a board gets heavier it does need to have a little compliance in the deck. I weighed my favourite boards. They range from 15kg to 24kg. The GT carbons with only 50x 18650's I think get away with their stiffness only due to weighing 10kg, and the DKP trucks absorb a lot more than other types of trucks.

Grew up on Fibreflex skateboards and now have a Bamboo GTR and Propel Endeavor Pro. Thought for sure my next board would be the Bamboo Hadean... bought a carbon Pivot GT. I get what you're saying here, it'll be interesting to compare once I get my Pivot. I like to ride in the dirt, where you've got to make quick adjustments.

You are now a skater and I would suggest you have the more intimate knowledge that’s required to be able to get it. Good on you for sticking to what you would have loves as a kid. Skating was a great lifestyle in the 80’s and 90’s - esk8 just makes sense for us older folks who just can’t be screwed to hustle a board all the time.

couldn't agree more. my hadean B is dodgy at high speed, it feels too wavy, squirrely.
Ive always like the flex but im sure its just too flex for its own good. Evolves insistence on DKP trucks makes things even worse.
My next board will be carbon, TKP.

Fred talked me into the B-one Titan X (carbon with TKP), I absolutely LOVE it!!! With the 2 in 1, it's very versatile. Great power, speed, and range as well. Zero regrets, only that I wish I had more time to ride it daily!

Wood/bamboo isnt the best solution on a esk8 if its a drop through deck or one of those split ends. I would never trust it to be safe. Carbon all the way!

  • @Bernievids
    @Bernievids Рік тому

Truth being told, people who’ve skated their whole lives could have told you this. Wood boards were less flexible and wanting to know what to expect is the only way to go. I get bamboo but if you want to stay alive, carbon is it.

It's like a hidden advertisement, first you praise bamboo, then carbon fiber to please the advertiser, not very convincing. now your opinion is less interesting. it is wrong to say that one board is worse than another is not very correct, everyone has their own taste and style of skating .

i agree with you that carbon boards with the stiffer deck has a quicker response than bamboo boards. but i personally find that bamboo boards are more comfortable to do long rides. even with a bamboo board my feet and calves get stiff and numb after riding for 15 minutes non-stop while riding in the streets in the city. the only problem with carbon boards is that you literally feel every bump and all the vibrations.
