@Slanted Horizon Absolutely. It's definitely so satisfying to run thermal ink on maps with lots of walls. I've gotten so many sneaky kills with it when I otherwise would have been able to spot the other players.

I feel like Haunt needs another buff where, if you get killed again by the guy(s) you're Haunting, you get Quick Respawn. You already have to die once for Haunt to take effect, so it only seems fair.
This is actually insane but now I'm sorta split on which to use. On one hand with thermal, I can track multiple people for a bit, but with haunt I can track (likely) one person indefinitely with the added punisher ability 🤔🤔
Thermal Ink is a yes for Tri-Stringer and Bloblobber other weapons that use it are a lot more niche since most of the weapons have a quick kill time anyway. Anything that's slow enough to kill, can lose their target behind cover after getting a hit, is reliable enough to hit a directs(AOE doesn't count) and can take advantage of stage geometry can benefit from it. The only other weapons I heard that use it in very niche builds are splatlings or shooters either because of their shot velocity or shots to kill.
tbh respawn punisher does need a nerf (the ability) a the longer range your *main* is the harsher the downsides are on you and the lighter the effect is on enemies
I run respawn punisher on dualie squelches cuz it’s really effective on the current meta people put a shit ton of quick respawn and I normally super jump anyways so it doesn’t really matter
Haunt has no drawbacks *but it has no benefits if you're doing well. The main issue with haunt is that if you want to respawn punish someone, you need to die, respawn, hunt them down and then kill them to trigger it once. You always need to die to them first in order to trigger Haunt's punishment. However, if you're doing well and not dying nearly as much as you are getting kills, Haunt isn't helping you as much as Respawn Punisher would. If anything, you get punished just as much as using Respawn Punisher yourself (if not more) because you need to both wait to die, wait to reach your opponent and then hope you're the one to secure a kill on them without them killing you *again* in order for Haunt to do anything. Essentially, if you're doing bad, Haunt gives you an edge against your opponents as a consolation. If you're doing well, Respawn Punisher would be far more effective. Haunt is a crutch version of Respawn Punisher.
You are 100% correct. This is why i said that Haunt is mainly good on weapons that die a lot naturally, like Tetra Dualies. Even if you're doing your job correctly, Tetras will naturally die a lot due to how the weapon functions. Running a lot of Quick Respawn and combining this with Haunt and Stealth Jump is a recipe for success, because now you'll have an even greater advantage when coming back from death.
For me, the trade off with not having ninja squid just isn't worth it. Especially since ninja squid is always active, whereas haunt is only around if you die. And not having ninja squid as a slayer, would mean I would probably die more (which ik would make haunt more useful, but it's better just not dying). This is just my opinion as a brush main, tho
Ive been using haunt ever since splatoon 2 on tri slosher and octoshot! In this game i havent used it much but thats just because i havent found any cool shirts i want to have it on i definitely plan on using it for stuff like wiper the tri the ttek
i play splash and lowkey now im gonna run haunt (i die a lot / am still working on improving my death count, so haunt would be more useful to me than most splash users)
Would Haunt be good to run using the Light Tetras? Or is there more value to having a main of QR since there are more special-related abilities it needs to run than the Darks??
"You can respawn-punish people for free" -- except instances, when you can't)) In my eyes it is still too inconsistent if your teammates do at least a bit of killing themselves during the game. It would be as good as you describe IF punish effect persisted till YOU kill enemy even after he was killed by your team few times. Only great players like you and better can gain anything from it aand still it is not guaranteed..
I mean, if your teammates are also killing the enemy that's fine too. Think of it as just a little bonus/safety net IF you are able to kill them. For weapons that die a lot, Haunt is 100% worth it

Do you have a video talking about the other hidden abilities?
i play splash and lowkey now im gonna run haunt (i die a lot / am still working on improving my death count, so haunt would be more useful to me than most splash users)
Would Haunt be good to run using the Light Tetras? Or is there more value to having a main of QR since there are more special-related abilities it needs to run than the Darks??
I personally don't think lights have room for haunt
if only i could have ninja squid and haunt at the same time it would make a crazy dapples build
I knew haunt was really good on tetra in this game
"You can respawn-punish people for free" -- except instances, when you can't)) In my eyes it is still too inconsistent if your teammates do at least a bit of killing themselves during the game. It would be as good as you describe IF punish effect persisted till YOU kill enemy even after he was killed by your team few times. Only great players like you and better can gain anything from it aand still it is not guaranteed..
I mean, if your teammates are also killing the enemy that's fine too. Think of it as just a little bonus/safety net IF you are able to kill them. For weapons that die a lot, Haunt is 100% worth it
R E V E N G E, that’s why
Hey Chase, another rqst. I would love a new opinion video on dream dualie kits. I know you dropped one before Splat3 dropped, but now the game is out and we have all felt the specials for ourselves. Would love a new opinion video
I planned on doing this soon!
I KNEW IT
i actually used haunt for a while but with everyone else using ninja squid and myself feeling like im caught to much i switched
Idk if it's good but i will try this with the new brella on drizzle season. I think it's could be cool to haunt people who kill you when you're in inkjet or at the landpoint. And .... It's brella soo i think i will die a lot + i rarely play this weapon 😂
Hey chase what tram are you gonna be in for the upcoming splatfest
sour
It could better than Respawn Punisher. Pretty much a revenge perk. Not sure Haunt is Good for Zink Mini Splatling.
Probably not good for mini.
Mini probably wants to stay alive so it can have good Bubbler output.
This game really loves to hide stuff from you
I was already using it but on Tri Stringer mostly. Guess when I play Wiper I should run that.
If this ability has a secret function to it, couldn’t imagine what other abilities actually might as well.
If you want to check out each ability, go to their Inkipedia page. That will tell you everything you need to know.

@@Chase247 I see it says what you mentioned about Haunt for Splatoon 2, but not 3, unless it just carried over?
@@CapriGaming24 it did carry over. Yes
@@Chase247 I see now, makes sense. Neat.
I have a question i played alot of splatoon 2 and i was hopeing there was going to be alot more new weapons so should i buy splatoon 3 why or why not
My suspicion was correct i saw haunt and i thought is haunt good with tetras and now that im seeing this video i will say definently
If i have gear with 1 haunt and 3 qr does haunts effect change if i get haunt four timed?
How do you manage to have the prettiest rendered thumbnails on youtube
Ikr!!!!! ✨✨✨ i think the same thing
I am still meh about it. I certainly would be unable to focus on the silhouette and be unable to punish
