@@gabby222themoon sure, all dualies enter a state after rolling where you can't move for a bit. You can stay in this state longer by just not moving. The regular dualies and dapple dualies both get an increased fire rate, gloogas get better damage (and I think range?), dousers lose range and increase their fire rate by a LOT, squelchers don't change, and tetras might get a better fire rate but I'm not sure. Also their shots become more accurate because the two crosshairs merge.

The role those play is very different from what the stats may tell you. Its true strength is its forward-aggressive pressure, it excels at fighting in a semi-aggressive position where it can abuse its range and primary strength, the fact that it doesn't have any endlag on rolls. This makes it a true threat as it makes the weapon exceptionally hard to target and properly pin down while making it hard to escape from. This is why the weapon is unequivocally top-tier as far as dualies go.
You actually can jump WHILE shooting with dualies you just have to not be moving the L stick. It was like this in Splatoon 2 aswell. P.S. btw, as someone who's mained multiple dualie types. dousers' dodge roll is more effective when you use it for entering turret mode than it is for actually dodging. it decreases your range but increases your firing speed ten fold
Small dualie details for anyone who might not know them: -The locked position after rolling also increases firerate -If you stop trying to move after rolling, you can keep using the focused firing indefinitely -Each pair has their own unique roll distance and speed (and I think a few even change how they fire when focused) -Red Dapples are the best guns in the game, this is 100% fact and not bias.
You can use the triple splashdown while in the air if someone is gonna spawn kill you and you have your special charged then you can use it before you land
you can actually jump while shooting as long as you do not input a direction. and the recovery time between rolls punishes you for predictable rolling, depends on the dualie with how punishing it is, tetras are not meant to roll 4 times in a row. and the reticle merging into one? it's because after a roll, you enter "turret mode" which you end by inputting any direction, depending on dodge recovery time, you might spend more time in turret mode on some dualies (like tetras, or gloogas) or less (dualie squelchers, dapples)
I just remembered that I used to main the Splat Dualies until the trend of being a "dapper squid" went around on tiktok. I thought it looked like fun and now I unironically main the Undercover Brella.
For me, dualies are the weapon to pick when I don't care about winning or losing and just want to terrorize the enemy team (and then have a panic attack seeing tri-slosher). Side note, a second tacticooler refreshes the duration. It can theoretically last forever, but in practice that's very hard to do with special cooldown and, you know, dying.
Now beacon might have teammates "name a street after you" But imagine what they would do if you also equipped sub power up and make that junp super fast 👌
little does jaymoji know, they're adding the quadzooka to splatoon 4, which has even bigger shots, more damage, and can fire 4 shots before disappearing.

i’m sure i won’t be the only one to say this, but the gloogas are only decent because after you stand in place after a dodge roll, you fire much faster and have much higher damage. it’s definitely a playstyle to get used to, but it can be very powerful. you did great with the dapples though!
