    I am from Spain and it's crazy how the media is trying to portray him as a victim. It could be true that he was being threatened and blackmailed? Yes. Is that a valid reason for premeditated murder and cutting a body in 14 pieces? Absolutely not. There's just no way of looking at this in a way where he is the victim.
    If he had killed him in self defense that would be another thing. But the fact that he bought everything beforehand and cut him in 14 pieces doesn't scream self defense.

      You feel that cutting up a body to dispose of evidence is crueller than the actual murder? I beg to differ. Murder isn't just murder as you say. It takes a lot for the average human to kill another human. Once you cross that line, everything else (including trying to dispose of the body) becomes easier on the conscience by comparison. Daniel was actually a chef and is used to cutting up stuff, so it was probably even easier for him than others

      @@beno1129I'm sorry but there is nuance here. You can kill someone with a gun a crowbar or with a knife in self-defense and/or if you feel really threatened by someone. But buying appliances to cut in pieces somebody, is really a different thing. That's why "premeditation" is considered when you judge someone for murder. Chopping someone in pieces really IS different than just "killing" ... any forensic psychologist can tell you that.

    • @beno1129
      @beno1129 9 місяців тому +20

      @@geminisfl Chopping up a corpse is certainly morbid, but if you've already killed the person, and you're trying to avoid the death penalty, then you may find it easier to cross that line since you've already committed murder. The 'nuance' you're suggesting doesn't really apply here, as we're not talking about chopping up a live person. Dismemberment of a corpse simply isn't crueller than committing murder, but needless to say, both should be avoided earnestly!

      Cutting someone up after you murder them is obviously horrible but murder is murder. If someone is already dead they won’t know if someone defiles their corpse. I’d say morally it’s worse to defile a body but at least they can find peace in knowing that the suffering is over once they pass.

Well, talking about the murder, Daniel is a despicable person that deserves the rest of his life under prison. He was never a manager, he was just another 'gigolo' pleasing elder people taking advantage of this young age (29) and handsome body. Probably Edwin encountered something suspicious that forced him to reverse the business/ relationship, but that disagreement is not an excuse to be murdered and dismembered in that way. If I organically got into an argument with someone I know and it resulted in a physical altercation, the next logical step would be to remove myself from the situation and stop fighting. Daniel likely used him for his money but wasn’t gay or interested in a romantic relationship with Edwin but Edwin wouldn’t let him walk away. He threatened to kill Daniel and blackmailed him. Daniel just wanted to get Edwin out of his life and it’s likely that he didn’t have the money to pay Edwin back the money he gave him. It honestly does sound like Edwin had some kind of fatal attraction and couldn’t accept that Daniel wanted to marry a woman 😬
      Of course he didn’t deserve to die but Daniel’s claims were substantiated by the text messages found in Daniel’s phone. Edwin had all the money and power and was using it to basically force Daniel into a relationship with him and was cornering him.

He probably wanted to help him get started on his chef business or channel or whatever it was that he was seeking and Daniel used him for whatever he could get from him and I’m guessing that Dr. Arrieta finally told Daniel that he was done financing everything for him at which point Daniel knew the funds had run out so, in order to keep face with his family and lifestyle he decided to kill Dr. Arrieta to cover up his relationship. Since he bought the saw and other things the day BEFORE, its clear to me it was premeditated. Why would he arrive one day earlier? To foreigners, many Thais have very strange and funny nicknames. "Joke" is Thai means rice porridge or Chinese congee. However, Thai formal first names are dignified, very long, elegant sounding and have profound meanings.

    • @jilldinneen4271
      @jilldinneen4271 9 місяців тому +16

      This story has the whole of South Africa on the edge of their seats. Thabo Bester was serving a life sentence for rape and murder in a high secure prison. His escape was not reported at all. He was living with the doctor in an upmarket area for more than six months and was recognised by one of his rape victims when he was shopping in an exclusive supermarket. She reported his appearance to a newspaper that printed the story . There's a whole lot more to the story than what I and amandakhumalo5655 have mentioned.

    A small correction, if I may: Daniel's parents are not Silvia and Rodolfo Bronchalo, her name is Silvia Bronchalo, his is Rodolfo Sancho. In Spain, women do not change their names after marrying and the children gets both their parents surnames, normally, the first of the father and then the first of the mother. Daniel Sancho (father) Bronchalo (mother) in this case😉

    This is so disgusting...like many have stated, there is something that makes murder so much more disturbing when it involves dismemberment of a human being. I mean, how do you do that to someone and carry on as if nothing happened? So evil and disturbing. My condolences to everyone affected by Edwin's passing, truly a devastating event for them to have to live with.

    Loved this case Adrian, great choice- it was my first time hearing of this one. I always wonder when these murderers go to these places to buy the supplies to cover up what they've done, aren't they aware that said places have cameras and will see them or is it that they don't care really? This case just goes to show how spoiled brats such as Daniel don't value people's lives because they think their money will buy out the situation. I do hope justice will be served because dismembering the victim's body like that was definitely overkill. And then his family is just as bad for not seeing the wrong in his actions- they are just as delusional
