- Today myself and my good friends went to a track day to get to know how our cars performed on the track. This is run by a company called Playday on track and they do a number of events on Race tracks around New Zealand.

It was a great day, initially its a bit daunting with all the exotic and race cars competing but the event is very laid back and well run. There is no expectations on the drivers, as they said "we are not here to win Bathurst " we are here to have a good time. There were 4 different classes you could run in, the prestige class was for mainly supercars and exotics, then there was a fast class which was mainly race cars, then medium cars with some race cars, and modified street cars, then the slow or as they called it "speed impared cars" which is where we ran. it was a good choice as it gave us a chance to get used to handling our cars around a track and we didn't have half of humanity trying to get past us. We stayed at the back and gradually built up confidence. What a day, i hope you enjoy!
Never considered it in the context of this video. Have always attended trackdays in race cars so a different driver mentality. Great to see these guys doing exactly what these trackdays are for, which is being respectful to your cars limitations, and to drive well within your own. They are guys/gals doing what any racer loves doing - getting in a car and driving it fast, but safely, around a race track. And finding where both those limits lie, without endangering yourself or others, and become a much better driver for it. And for many I am sure it will be their gateway to motorsport moment. It is so damn addictive

Hey Deano sorry mate i thought i replied to you but it looks like i must have not hit reply... i never managed to catch him, and he is a seasoned track day guy so he is a really good driver. i will let him know you asked and he can reply to you. I think it did pretty well though.
