  • The best part about the JET 22" Scroll Saw is its easy blade change process. Watch how our exclusive upper mechanism clamps and tensions the blade in one easy step. And the toolless lower blade holder is removable and the table features a slot for the blade. And that's not all…

This one is on my wish list, the short one. Sure don't know why so many people are so upset about bottom feeding, rabid almost. The old Delta I've had for years I've always feed up through the bottom of the piece because the blade clamp is on top, with the tension arm. The bottom blade clamp on it is a pain to feed and tighten (with a wrench), so I am loving this jet saw. Guess I have been using the wrong scroll saw for years, or I have been scrolling wrong for years. Though it works for me.

This saw has almost no table space IN FRONT OF THE BLADE no staging area! (like the Excalibur models) and you need that staging area in front,, also the table slit for the blade changing, I can see trying to move around constantly getting hung up on that,,, attaching the blade from UNDER the table and feeding your work thru pilot holes on bottom of the piece??? too many problems here,,,,

Most newer saws, including dewalt, excalibur, Hawks, all support top feeding, which makes fretwork much easier and quicker to go between cuts. The video only shows bottom feeding, which is a huge step backwards if that is really how this saw was designed. The video shows bottom feeding, but not top feeding. If this saw does not have an viable "Top Feeding" approach, that would be a real shame in light of all the other new improvements they made. Let's hope this is not the case and they could prove it with another video highlighting top feeding which has become so popular with the newer saws. If not, I think Jet is in for a wake-up call.

Not really sure which saws you are referring to but this is the same method all the big top names have gone to. Excalibur, DeWalt, etc... The difference is those saw make you feed the blade up through a throat hole, where the jet has a cut of so you can swing it up with out contorting underneath. It's super efficient in my experience. To be honest if you want the best of the best scroll saw you're talking either this saw or the Excalibur, and from what I can tell the Jet is a better made, and better supported saw. Imagine ordering a new blade chuck for the excalibur in 30 years... Will Excalibur even be around ? Guarantee you Wilton/Powermatic/Jet will be.

@@zippydachimp7113 Excalibur makes Excelsior now and I like it better for a few reasons n.1 the cast-iron table looks cheap in the Jet and n.2 the Excelsior is cheaper by at least $200. or more.

No tools needed to change blades? Didn't he say simply insert the bottom holder in the cutout (tool #1) and use the wrench (Tool #2) to tighten it. Give me the DeWalt, true toolless change. And as someone who does a lot of fret work, this sounds like a nightmare for a top feeder.
