Oh wow, I wish we could get whole herring like that, over here. Yours looked wonderful, and thanks to your Grandma for her recipe. My oh my with all those delicious spices on those happy little fishes makes my mouth water. I bet your kitchen smelled so good. "Traditional old school cookin' " is the best! As the saying goes, "fish heads and rice, are very nice!"
Chris, great video. No need for restaurat cooking when it comes from the heart. Keep up the good work.

Chris, bro you are a boss.
Wow looks very good! I can almost smell the fish throught the screen. In norway we fry in butter and serve with potatoes and cream. Also you use more spices than we do. My favourite dish

What a blessed Good Friday I am having today remembering Jesus's love on the cross with the joy of His Resurrection celebrated on Easter!! My Trinidian mom used to make fried herrings as a child...I used your recipe with a few personal additions and yes to no seasoned flour...I just enjoyed this delicious treat that made me think of my childhood days and my Mother Rosalie RIP. Happy Easter to you and yours! Subscribed!

@@caribbeanpot i will.
nice!
Ahhhhhhahahaha! "This ain't no restaurant"! I felt that Chris! 😂😂
Maybe I'm doing too much when I post my dishes on FB! 😩😂
Quick tip - I know it's not as pretty as the paper towels, but I recycle my brown paper bags for soaking up the grease. I find that works better.
I've had friends over to eat, not comfortable with the head on the fish! 👀😒😒😒
Then I have to remind myself that they didn't grow up in the Caribbean! 😂😂😩
superrrr
lol your funny Chris but your right this not resturant lol my parents say the same thing.
Thank you for Old skool Traditions. Reminds me of my Grand ma's and my Parents Traditions the Good old Days. Grandma have it with CornBread and Chris cant forget The Red Wine to Drink.

Tasty tucker mi dears
Need a notch up on the heat to get a brown caramelized skin. Still looks yummy.
Hi Chris. Nice video. Is that a non-stick frying pan with oil on low heat? Olive oil tends to burn on high heat.
Is Herring fish and sardines are the same
You have a lucky wife
👍🏾👍🏾
do give them a try
do i have to take the bones out before frying?
We call it caryi here in Dominica. 🇩🇲
thanks for the lesson
So how do you make the dough ? You know what you put the meat in to fry it.
@@MissMaubi Just plain all purpose flour, not a dough
@@mauli523 Then your pate is not the same because we have to wrap ours in a dough to deep fat fry it, trying to find the recipe for the dough. Kinda of looks like what they call up here empanada.
Try stuffing the fish with the green seasoning and pepper. It rel bess!!
Gradma n trasisionanal
What do you usually serve this with?
This can get a pickled veg on top- of onion and peppers. Or served with dal and rice. Or dipped in a pepper sauce or eaten just plain like this. These are so good. If you haven't had a chance to make them, do it. So worth it.
Now what do you do with it?
Never had it
Fry Dry
Oh god boy grand ma know how to throw it down boy
Use a cooling rack
Never seen these in a store. Only canned
Flash back it’s dhal and rice .. wait my knee just buckled under the weight of that recipe
Is this what some calls Joshua
word eh
Did you get any pate recipe yet ? Let me know if you did and which one it is.
no
@@caribbeanpot :( I got one you can try . I biggest problem I am having is the crust.
Does herring stink ?
Looks crisp rasta..need fried taters. Wit that
Kick back I'm done to kick you
