I usually love what you say but that analogy for 10oz vs 14oz was silly. We all know it's about the padding and no one practices throwing punches with a pack of cards for 16min so no one would understand what that weight would do endurance wise.
I knew a guy in high school, he was a street brawler. he would train with an 8lb weigh...hitting a bag, right hand only. That guy was only good for about 1 minute, but if he got you with that right.....OMG it was like being hit with a truck.
He's trying to illustrate the weight to the average Joe so it's a fair comparison. As someone who spars regularly with 16oz gloves & headgear, it doesn't make as much difference as you think in terms of impact, it mainly slows down the punches but still hurts and can still easily cause knockouts, more so at times because of the weight
Tyson threw more punches in sparring sessions than that fight.... Jake would have been so easy to knock out when he throws that hook he completely drops that right hand leaving his chin exposed and Tyson being a veteran would have jumped on that rookie mistake immediately if it wasn't scripted

People are very weird... a retired boxer against a youtuber... As canelo said, there are 2 types of andience. That's not the fight for real boxing fans. It's an exhibition match..
that is a STUPID example... adding weight to a glove on the back is NOTHING to do with an extra 4 ounces...add the 4 ounces to the FRONT of the glove in the form of extra padding at it makes a huge difference..

I appreciated everything you said and learn a few things. Imo a factor most are not speaking of is the sweet science. The goading... The jab.. The set up.. The counter.. Paul will make the mistake of covering up instead of moving and he will be dismantled.
Well people like you predicted his mma or boxing opponent of the week would "inevitably" knock him out every time, and yet it never happened. That's kinda impressive no matter how you spin it.
I'm not a fan by any means; however, he is a legit boxer. To start boxing at the age he did and get in the professional ring at all is already an accomplishment, and you are a fool if you think otherwise. His physique and training camp videos are proof that he at least takes the sport seriously. Now, his character and demeanor are a completely different story. He's a jackass.
Iv been in 3 street fights wile on psychedelics . twice on shrooms 1 time on LSD. It didn’t end well for the other guy. I could read the body language as it left his brain. 🧠. I can’t imagine what a professionally train fighter could do while on psychedelics in the ring. Untouchable.
Apparently Tyson's been training and sparring in 18oz gloves,so by the time fight night comes those 14oz gloves will feel like 10oz gloves especially with mike's huge hands.
Before the match even begins, your heart feels like it's going to come out of your chest. 1 round in, and every minute afterwards, you wonder why you didn't train your endurance more. You look at your opponent and pretend you're not going into cardiac arrest. Every moment is an eternity. Godspeed Mike.

The 14 gloves are so big that it makes them soo mich slower, 10 times more safe and impossible to hit, if the other guy guards with those same pillows in hes hand. There is no way to knockout anyone who knows even little what hes doing with those gloves.
Thanks for doing this video Tony, Mike Tyson is in his 50’s I’m am old as well. It would be good to see Mike Tyson win and I will get to see the fight.
For gloves it’s not about weight it’s about the cushioning. Cushioning is measured by ounces. Thus these 14oz gloves have 40% more cushioning than the standard 10oz
Ten years ago I took up boxing for fitness, I am now age 68. At 59 and 60 I was hammering the heavy bag and doing 300+ pushups per day. Age 61 through 62, my power dropped 20% and pushups dropped to under 100. Two factors I see are shelf life of Mike and obvious leg joint issues we all saw a year ago. His heart is age 45, hands are age 55, legs are age 65. If Mikes doesn't finish Jake by 3 minutes in it won't be pretty. I'm not betting on this fight.
This is a very smart take on how I think the fight will go. If Mike doesn’t end him in the first his legs won’t carry him through, his legs don’t move like they used to at all
@@callfourzero1931 Sorry. Too harsh of me. For someone who started training at 59 to make comparative conclusions about Tyson's potential fitness level is not going to factor into realistic analysis however. Tyson has trained at an intensity level that is probably near the human threshold and is one of the premier natural specimens in the sports history. That alone puts him in a unique category. Paul has never achieved the fitness level, or anything near it that Tyson maintained for over a decade. Age is definitely a factor, but an ATG boxer has achieved a base fitness level that is beyond what most people have or could achieve. His chin is proven world class, which is rare under any physical circumstance. Although that, along with many other assets, will definitely fade with age, most humans do not posses the ability to absorb world class bombs from HW fighters regardless of how well trained they are. Tyson's fought in many 12 round bouts at the elite level and has ended countless champions and top contenders, who also had proven chins. Paul has never absorbed a world class HW shot, or finished anyone near contender status. Larry Holmes outclassed Butterbean at age 55 and Butterbean was a proven threat with a much better resume than Paul will ever have. To me this fight is a farcical cash grab, regardless of the outcome, which will probably be staged.
Packet of playing cards is a dense block of dry wood pulp, no pockets of air. The extra padding adding up to the weight of a pack of playing cards, is so air filled and fluffy that it increases the glove size by around a third in the impact zone, cushioning the blow. But... it's Tyson, so it barely matters.
Thanks for the subtitles, man! 😅 Where are you from? I appreciate your impartial opinion. I agree with everything you said, since it comes from somebody ACTUALLY knowledgeable about the matter. And I believe Mike Tyson will win. Not sure if by knockout, considering the BIG age difference between the two, but he will DEFINITELY win, and most surely send Jake to the canvas at least once.
If Jake can keep going and doesn't get knocked out, he'll take it because of stamina, but Tyson will take it early if Paul leaves himself open for even one full-on punch.
@@j-gaming9629 you have no idea what you're talking about. I understand the hate against Paul, but he's a decent boxer, he's young, physycally strong and has punching power. He's not some random dude off the street, he's actually serious about boxing, been doing it for over 5 years now. You learn the most in those first years, later progress is very slow
I unfortunately won’t be able to watch it live, but I cannot wait to see this go down. I agree with everything you’ve said, but I do think it’s going to be closer than most people expect. Unless there’s a knockout, in which case this’ll be nice and quick
Feel like this is a mockery of the sport. But then again, boxing itself allowed this to be possible with ppl having to wait for the best vs the best or if at all.
Although a box of playing cards may seem small and unimpressive, 4 ounces of padding is actually about double the padding of a 10 oz. glove, so it's significant.
@@maxneumann5692they were real "fighrs" against non boxers. The only fight Paul had against a boxer, he lost. That boxer was not 1/100th of the boxer that Tyson is.

Great analyst sir. totally agree with you. As for the game plan I expect to see Jake Paul going for the KO right from the start hoping to surprise a fresh Tyson. Well, chances are it will end up Tyson Marvis Frazier Jake Paul and its gonna be brutal. No one can handle the ferociousness of Iron Mike and he is on a beast mode right now. Look at his face in the latest interviews. He's focused and have that darkness killer look once again. Jake Paul just woke up the sleeping bear.
Excellent analysis! I agree with everything you said. Mike Tyson may be 58, but I don’t know what that translates into normal boxer stats. The biggest question is whether or not Jake can handle the power of Mike Tyson. And honestly, I don’t even know if Jake lands any solid hits. Mike seems too fast even at this age. My prediction is either it’s over in the first round or it’s over in the third round.
The difference between a 10 and a 14oz glove is massive. I’m not saying you can’t do damage with either one but I’ve messed around with both and I can tell you I definitely have a favorite.
I have been watching boxing from a Young age in the early 1970s and did a bit when I was younger to protect myself from bullies and my dad always taught us to look after ourselves growing in South London. Street fighting is very different from the boxing ring and Mike Tyson has done both grew up and trained the hard way. I really hope he punishes Jake a loud mouth and plays him a bit and knocks him out in style. The last thing a boxer loses is his punch and Tyson certainly has that power punch. As for Jake is all about the money he is not a boxer or street fighter. Tyson trained all of his younger life so his muscle mass is still there and hope the muscle memory kicks in with adrenaline 👊👊👊👊👊👍👊👊👊👊👊

Good onya Tony. I agree with everything you said. Really looking forward to the old fella dishing it out.
I usually love what you say but that analogy for 10oz vs 14oz was silly. We all know it's about the padding and no one practices throwing punches with a pack of cards for 16min so no one would understand what that weight would do endurance wise.
Yes I was like wth . He should be in a position to understand what a huge difference it is 😂
I don't know why he's even saying that. He knows what difference it makes, just as we do.
Regardless.. if you stand there and let me have a free puch on you like a punching machine, if I have 14oz gloves your still getting KOd so 🤷
I knew a guy in high school, he was a street brawler. he would train with an 8lb weigh...hitting a bag, right hand only.
This is gonna be fun 😂
Mike Tyson forever 🔥💪
was it fun ?
@ oh fuck no I revoke my words 💀
Tyson threw more punches in sparring sessions than that fight.... Jake would have been so easy to knock out when he throws that hook he completely drops that right hand leaving his chin exposed and Tyson being a veteran would have jumped on that rookie mistake immediately if it wasn't scripted

Interesting video. I hope your neck is better soon
If Mike doesn’t end him in the first his legs won’t carry him through, his legs don’t move like they used to at all
Your experience/observations are so limited they have no relevance on this or any other boxing contest.
@@JoshSmith222 hi Josh, rather than bash and run, what are your views on this event? I am truly interested on where I went wrong with my comment.
@@JoshSmith222 care to elaborate?? watch Mike's last professional fight in 2005..he was 39 years old the post fight interview was heartbreaking..
Love that the subtitles are factually right. With his accent his 'way different' really is pronounced like 'weird different' ,🤣
what's up with your neck?
Packet of playing cards is a dense block of dry wood pulp, no pockets of air. The extra padding adding up to the weight of a pack of playing cards, is so air filled and fluffy that it increases the glove size by around a third in the impact zone, cushioning the blow. But... it's Tyson, so it barely matters.
This is a circus to make money from idiots who will pay to see a clown show.
bingo. except it's free on netflix, but it's 100% fake and 100000000000% circus.

"HE IS A man POSSESED" quoted perfectly as stated in the video.

Thanks for he details, and it's a definite watch. Tyson is an animal in the ring.
