Just got my Versa - thanks for the demo / test. I like the way you show us all the settings. So many videos just show the funds without discussing the actual settings 👍

Thank you! I had only really posted these videos as at the time there was very little testing in English available and the Americans had asked if anyone could see if there results were matched using 2.44 or did they have a faulty machine? These tests did help to prove that 2.44 was lacking in unmasking and the new update 3.7 has addressed all issues. I hadn't planned on making anymore but you never know. It's a great machine! How are you finding it?

Got the Vanquish 540 two years ago and its a really good detector. But bought the Versa some weeks ago and put in the newest update, 3.7, and its IMO a beast of machine. That test you performed is no problem now. I can agree that Rutus should solved some issues before realese but they listened to the criticism and made something good out of it.
Its a bit complicated machine at first glance but have a lot of possibilities when you learn to use it correct.

I agree totally, 3.7 is a different machine.

Found you through Calabash and Iffy. Try the Vanquish in Jewellery mode with the iron switched off. I use a Vanquish 540 with a V12 coil and it is excellent. Thanks.

I tend to use Jewelry mode in the field too but for the sake of this test used coin mode as it has the best separation. 540 is a great machine found bronze age gold with mine, my best find to date.

Same results Joe 👍. Did you have the 540 setup in low IF? It might do even better.

No I will try that, just set up as factory settings to keep all things equal, I believe that's High bias. I have noticed another oddity also! if you set up a notch pattern in a given program and then switch to another program the notch is locked in. Even after a full program reset (not a master reset) the notch pattern remains. Kind of seems silly to me If for example I notch out a target on the beach and next trip go to the field the saved notch will be in that program.

Nice Test Joe! Wow only a 1/2 inch - I'm curious if you get the same results with a larger coin. Not that it should matter just wonder how large the good target ID would have to be for the machine to register a postive ID. I like the Rutus and would consider purchasing but I guess it depends on how they resolve this issue as I hunt alot of locations where this could be an issue.

This was a Victorian silver sixpence, I've tried with a large Edward penny and that does come through. It's a big target though. Really kept the target small/mid to keep the test on par with the Americans test. I would've loved it to have passed and known they had a faulty machine, that's really the only reason why I looked in the first place, I've an invested interest and no one else was looking.

I think that the problem is only in Rutus' different ID scale. If you adjust the sounds so that the iron sound starts at -5, then the coin will give a signal. Then you should also test it with different nails to see how they would sound then.

Could be that issue but that should be sorted before the machine is released. The point of the test was using factory settings as this is how other machines have been tested and passed. Dropping the positive tone to -5 in my opinion would have you digging all trash between 0 and -5.

It doesn't necessarily give any more trash than other devices with normal settings if that's the problem. You should just test it with that setting. And then compare the trash signals with other devices.
