Thanks for publishing your test results. I also have a versa 2.44 and don’t experience unmasking issues or iron tone when it shouldn’t be. I achieve similar GB numbers here in Kent

Hi Toby, thanks for commenting. Calabash has pointed out that the nails need to be turned 90 degrees to how I have them so they're inline with the sweep. The way I have it set up is apparently much easier than his test. Old nails too would be good if you can test this too and report back that would be awesome.

All good thank you Leonard. I have redone this test with the nails pointing the other direction and the Rutus falls short. Maybe I should film this. Iffy signals has a good video up.

@@joeoutdoors2299 I think iffy done a good test . They said they didn’t test on American coins should not make any difference because other coins have the same metallic content.

@@leonardjackman354 Totally agree, they're running low on excuses. I'm now going to do an updated test with the nail switched.

@@leonardjackman354 Sorry I've just realized the video was the wrong way around, now uploading again. You're correct though I think there's the basis for a nice machine but it needs some flaws ironing out.

I use the Alter 71 (often in preference to my Nox 800) and find the hodograph very useful. If the plot is scattered all over the place, or bends into the iron region then it's always iron, these signals also can give random high VDI numbers so I ignore the VDI when the graph plot is so poor. Anything relatively straight vertically, even if quite 'bendy' is worth digging. I see the Manticore has it's version of a graph, which also looks very useful. Some people go on tones only, I do pay attention to the tones but love the visual feedback of the graph.
I'm interested in the Versa but it does sound like there are problems with it from the Polish channels.

Hi Steve, thanks for your comment. Totally agree within my short time using this machine I've really enjoyed the graph feature. The random positive numbers seem like an issue but personally with them jumping around as they were, terrible audio and a scattered graph then there is no way I'd be digging these signals. I think it's a good machine but may need a tweak or update to clear up some of the issues others are finding. I need to redo this test as Calabash advised to see if my results match his, that's if it ever stops raining in sunny Norfolk! Iffy signals should be getting a test video up soon and he is far more experienced than me so i'd keep an eye out for that one.

Thanks for the video, I agree very few English videos on this machine, so I have been reading subtitles as well. It looked to me like the nails were giving a higher ID than the coin. Can you turn the nails the long way and try the test (down the barrel we call it). Happy New Year!

ID was both higher and lower, jumping from +20's through to +80's. I'll do a retest soon 'Down the barrel' but no really old iron nails here just using whats to hand. Thanks.

Thanks for the Test Joe ..What was the Vdi on the nails when you swung over them? Is that positive numbers that are flashing on the nails without the coin ? One thing the position of the nails MAKES a huge difference...The nails need to be long ways to make it a tougher test....Really just about any detector will pass that test with that position of the nails..I am not picking your test I am just saying we use the nails long ways to make it tougher on a detector. Thanks again! It should be performing on my test the same way but it is not..as you have seen..

The VDI was showing positive numbers but these were jumping all over the place and the graph was showing a scattered pattern or bent line running into the iron shaded area, I don't think anyone's digging such a signal. I'll try and get some old forged nails and switch the nail position as you recommend.

I switched the direction of the nails and tried again and it wont pass. That was the key thing missing here.

Turn the nails long ways bud.. Then see how good it is. Any detector will unmask that...
