this is the monitor ive been waiting for for 5 years
Samesies
It really is amazing. I had a 42" lg c2, then a 27gr95qe, then this and also bought the 27 360hz model to try as well. the 32" 4k 240hz is BY FAR the best OLED option on the market right now.
💯💯💯
but isnt the curve distracting? id like to replace my cx48 and i think 32" will be the sweetspot but im really unsure about the curve^^ playing a lot of codmw3 and storygames etc.@@CreateConsumeRepeat
If you think it will be distracting it will probably be distracting. I would wait for a flat screen model. I personally love it.
@@s123pongebob I thought i would have a problem with the curve as well but after seeing it in person and playing a few games of COD and overwatch the curve didnt bother me at all.
That’s awesome. Glad you found a monitor that works for you.
This is absolutely the monitor I want for my setup. It will be worth saving up the money for it. I am looking forward to getting my hands on this in a few months
It does not disappoint
Hello guys it seems that this monitor has some issue about compatibility with few nvidia gpu when its connect with hdmi 2.1, do you know this ?
Mine arrives tomorrow and I cant wait to see if its worth all the hype!!!
Can’t wait to hear what you think.
so how is it? did you buy in europe? are there any defects on the monitor?
How is it?
How is it ??!!
Its Beyond amazing, I never thought clarity and crisp image would effect my gameplay but the kills I'm getting in fps games like hell let loose and warzone is way higher than usual. I see everything so clearly now!!!@@maximefraisier1010
what a great review!
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Hi there, thanks for your great review. In the beginning you say that this is not a good monitor for main design. I understand that working as a professional illustrator or designer this is not a good option. However i build websites and i use Illustrator and other design programs occasionally. I also create T-shirt prints for myself (not professionally). I never had a curved monitor I was thinking about a 34 inch but i let go of that idea. So now i'm aiming this monitor. What do you recon ?
As a professional designer I recommend an IPS due to cost. But if you need color accuracy, go OLED monitor. Regardless what you decide it needs to be flat. Also keep in mind designers don’t need high refresh rates but if you want a monitor that can be used for both gaming and design you will have to pay a ton of money. @@CreateConsumeRepeat Thanks for the info. Clear!
I just got this over the weekend and a little confused on how to work it. Hdr/dolby vision works on desktop but when i play games its off even though the option in games says that its on . when i switchto desktop it shows dolby vision on again. Switch back to game, it gets bright with dobly vision on for 1 sec and then switches off. Ive updated to the latest firmware. Are you having this problem?
I haven’t had this issue. Have you downloaded the Dolby Vision Extensions?
@@CreateConsumeRepeat I did not.. where can I get that? Windows store?
Got mine 1 week ago. I am more of a „casual Gaming dad“.
I paired it with a 7900xt, 7800x3d and play mainly sea of thieves, baldurs Gate 3, league and battlefield.
Setup was super easy, it came without any scratches and there were 2 foils on the display (a thin one and a bubble layer). No scratches and no dust/fingerprints/dirt visible.
After initial setup and hz adjustment i ran a quick update which works only if the usb cable is connected. I left everything on default, hdr is activated and it Looks fucking awesome.
2 Little complaints: you really need to have a dark room to completely enjoy it. I even disconnected my secondary display since it was too bright in discord / browsing while i played on the alienware.
And dolby vision sometimes let the screen flicker when you change Focus or start a new game, no clue why.
Except that: Perfect Display for my needs, all games run Smoothie with 130-200 fps, ati accepts the freesync feature and i couldnt be happier.
Thanks for all the details. I know people will appreciate your experience and glad you love the monitor.
I dont wanna be that guy but how are you running games at 4k that high of FPS with a 7900xt ? Even 4090s dont hit those numbers lol
@@Anthony-Soprano i said in my games. Sea of thieves, league of legends. There i got plenty of fps. Helldivers seems to be very poorly optimized. Its arround 70 fps which still feels ok. Bf2042 was arround 100fps, but idk. Maybe i need to test one of the eye candy titles one day but for the moment it seems i hit my Sweet spot with this specific Hardware 🤷♂️
Golden Axe is indeed a classic game.
I anticipate the arrival of my new monitor, which is scheduled to arrive on the 13th of next week. I am excited to make the transition from my Samsung QD-OLED TV to a smaller monitor.
This Alienware32 4KQD-OLED monitor will feel like a new experience all over again, especially using a 3rd gen QD-OLED panel.
Love Golden Axe 🪓
I don't consider a curve this minor to be a serious impediment to professional work -- more like a minor inconvenience that can be worked around, if the monitor otherwise suits your needs.
I got mine mostly for productivity (I know about the burn-in risks and will live with them), with some photo/video editing -- and gaming really last (but sometimes!). I find I barely notice the curve when sitting back. When I need absolutely straight lines for editing photos of things like architecture, I've got gridlines in my apps.
I'd still have preferred a flat display, but I don't think there's anything I want to do that I can't with this monitor. It's just that a minor fraction of tasks I do need me to be mindful of the curve and compensate for it.
how is it with 2D side scrolling games like the new Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown? Any distortion due to the curve?
The curve is really minimal. When I played Dead Cells it was great. I can check later tonight with the new Prince of Persia game.
I only notice the curve when i go out of my way to see it.
I’m interested if you can use a custom res of let’s say 3840x1600 so I can also play ultrawide. I hear you can’t because of DSC can’t be disabled for whatever reason, but is it possible to do a work around like use a windowed Ultrawide res?
Interesting. I didn’t even think of that.
The future aesthetic is pretty dope. Is the glow from the back distracting when watching in a dark room?
The backlight is really subtle when compared to other monitors.
You can also turn it off in the osd
Just turn it off. ^^
Hey quick question, does this monitor do 240 hz through hdmi? I am asking because I have the alienware aw2725df and it only does 144hz when gaming on hdmi passthrough with my dual PC stream setup.
That’s a very specific setup. I personally use my monitor as a single display connected via display port. In my config it does 240.
Hello, I am confused, it doesnt have audio Jack. So how can i connect my speaker with this moniter.
You can connect to your computers audio via HDMI or if you decide to use DisplayPort you can use the USB port.
Ordered one as soon as they went live on Dell's store. Best monitor I've ever owned, by far. Couldn't be happier with it. Good video here, but just one minor error I noticed. All three of the ports support 4K@240Hz, not just the DisplayPort. The two HDMI 2.1 ports are also capable of 4K@240Hz. The consoles max out at 120Hz as that's their limit, but the display itself can do 240Hz over HDMI when connected to a PC.
Thanks for watching and the kind words. I did find this online so I was hesitant to mention FRL.
“HDMI 2.1 cables can technically support 240Hz at 4K if it uses display stream compression, but that’s not ideal for gaming as it can introduce visual artifacts. For lower resolutions, however, like 1440p or 1080p, it has no trouble managing that without compression.”
DisplayPort 1.4 has a lower bandwidth than HDMI 2.1, so both need DSC (Display Stream Compression) to reach the full 4K 240 Hz, and most people probably won't even notice DSC is on because it's a lossless compression.
Yes but the decision yo go DisplayPort vs HDMI is a little more nuanced and depends on your specific use case. Here is a great article: www.avaccess.com/blogs/guides/displayport-1-4-vs-hdmi-2-1-gaming/
Pretty sure it supports 240 over hdmi now as well
Been absolutely loving this display. Still a few issues that need to be corrected but it hasn’t been a deal breaker for me. Gsync probably won’t ever work through HDMI 2.1 iv just accepted this is so
it definitely does work with hdmi make sure u connected to the proper gpu output
@@fayezelomari iv tried so many different ways to get Gsync to work. It’s strange that your saying it works bc even Dell admits it only works with Display port
Two more days until mine comes! I cant wait to see if it de thrones the Lg c2 i have been using.
Can’t wait to hear what you think.
Thinking to buy lg c3 42 or this one
Recently picked up this monitor and it quickly replaced my PG27AQN lol Now i need to sell it
Could you use aux to usb-c for sound with my speakers?
I haven’t tried it but probably not but don’t quote me.
Please, can you let me know how 1440p resolution looks like on this monitor ?
I can check tonight but my initial thoughts are as follows: it will look fine but to get the most you should run monitors at their native resolutions. If you plan on upgrading your video card soon, just wait. The price will come down.
Thank you very mutch. I want to buy this monitor now and run it in 1440p, because my pc cant handle 4k and I will wait for 5090/9800X3D upgrade. So I can enjoy OLED with all benefits and last upgrade will be 4k and a bit more fps with new rig.@@CreateConsumeRepeat
I checked and 1440 looks good. Not as good as 3840x1920 but still really good. That said, I would wait for the price to go down and you have a video card that can handle 4K. BUT if you do decide to pick it up you will be happy.
Glad to hear that, thank you so much! I've already pre-ordered this beast, I've been waiting years for a monitor like this and I can't wait any more :D Now I have a 144hz VA panel so this could be a huge leap for me. I bought AW for €1,142. The Asus model cost 1,655 € in my country, so the price of the AW doesn't seem too bad in comparison.
Felicitaciones como Siempre Perfecto Bendiciones 🙏🍾🍸
And the burn-in effect? Should I be worried over time?
It has a three year warranty so I wouldn’t worry.
Having an RTX 4090 and a TN panel Asus monitor, I thought the GPU was wasted so mine comes on Tuesday! Buzzing.
Please compare to Asus and MSI.
All you need to know, depends on where you are in the world, this is £300-400 cheaper than the ASUS and MSI here in the UK/EU, so no-brainer.
Alienware is $1550 here in Australia, the equivalent asus is $2770. Simply crazy difference.
@bullymaquire8797 Agreed.
Where did you get that NeiR Automata screen saver!!!!
Wallpaper engine. You can download the app from Steam.
Thank you! Subscribed!
Literally the best presenter, i felt good.
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
@@CreateConsumeRepeat this seems better than Samsung 49" glossy oled g9 what's your opinion on it? & I can't get it to be at 240hz what cables do you recommend?
@elliotpolanco159 a.co/d/e6fBEna
@@CreateConsumeRepeat thank you very much.
There’s no audio jack how to I use this with my consoles…
HDMI
Already ordered mine. What's the Anime @ 0:24?
Ninja Kamui on HBO Max
hello, is it possible to use this monitor with an after market monitor stand?
As long as the stand is 100x100m VESA compliant.
@@CreateConsumeRepeat thank you for the info. great review.
What kind of film does it have on the screen?
I address this question at the 2:30 mark of the video.
So should I be using the hdmi or the display ports
Display port when connected to a PC. No question about it.
@@CreateConsumeRepeat That's not really true. Either has to use DSC to get to 240hz.... There is literally no benefit for one or the other. You fail to mention that it has to use DSC as well.
What background is that on you're pc very beginning.
Wallpaper engine is the app I use and the wallpaper is called “The First Step”
@@CreateConsumeRepeat what would you say is the best cable to use for this monitor DP 1.4 or HDMI 2.1
@bear0118 I use DisplayPort but HDMI works as well.
What about burn in and care to prevent it?
3 year warranty. Use a screen saver. It also has some features in the OSD
I have had multiple OLED as monitors. I use the hell out of them. This burn in thing is a bit of a ghost story. Does it happen, yes given enough time. I have had multiple monitors for 2 years and absolutely abused them like I would any other monitor.
You aren't going to burn it in in that time frame unless you literally left it on all day every day with the same content on it. The tech has come along way since it first appeared.
Does it have built in speakers
No it does not.
does it have a cross hair option?
Yes it does but from I can tell it isn’t very customizable.
It’s is cheap though here in Uk. Say £900. I can’t imagine others are going to be this cheap. I mainly have excel or word or web design as work- could I do that a bit and game a lot?
You could totally do email, word and excel but I would try to see it in person first. Most people won’t be bothered by the sub pixel layout but it’s really subjective.
What is the game at 4:51?
A Plague Tale: Requiem
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
i can't wait to buy a new monitor with this technology.....but ...i think i'll wait next year when the gpu 5090 come out maybe and maybe someone will do a 32" 4k 360hz with that gpu lol
😂😂😂 I better start saving.
@@CreateConsumeRepeat yep xD
Rumors are the 5090 will be out in q3 of 2024
@@mattgotsskill yes i know and i can't wait :)
🤯🤯🤯
does this beat out the QLED samung neo g8?
Having only seen the Samsung g8 at a BestBuy I would say, yes.
What's that wallpaper?
Which one? I have a bunch in the video.
@@CreateConsumeRepeat the one with the little viking in the mountains. looks amazing imho.
Wallpaper engine is the app I use and the wallpaper is called “The First Step”
@@CreateConsumeRepeatthank you!
its using gen3 panel
The monitor uses Samsung's third-generation QD-OLED panel but this is Alienware’s second monitor to use a QD-OLED Samsung panel. So, it’s Alienwares second-generation.
Dell had it all perfect! First 4K 32 release, glossy screen, great refresh, amazing price compared to competition and decided to RUIN it all with a curved display! What a waste!
While I agree the curve is limiting for professional. creative work I think for gaming and media ingestion it slays. I have zero regrets. That said, wait a few months for Samsung and LG to drop their new OLEDs.
I think in a few months i heard alienware was releasing a flat model
How is the text clarity and word/website usage? Does it look funny? Would you recommend it for a 80% desktop/web/word and 20% gaming/movies? @@CreateConsumeRepeat
@@CreateConsumeRepeatHow would this affect professional or creative work in anyway?
No headphone jack really sucks
Agreed. Transitioning from the LG 32GQ950, which features a headphone jack on the bottom, required some adjustments. However, the addition of eARC is a significant advantage, especially for those using a soundbar.
@@CreateConsumeRepeat eArc is a nice edition, but should sacrifice the headphone jack. I mean not everyone wants to setup and full size soundbar on there desk.
@@CreateConsumeRepeatwould this monitor be good for playing my Xbox series x on-or would it be overkill??
I believe I mention in the video that it’s perfect for the PS5 or Xbox series X. I personally think it’s a perfect match due to the Dolby Vision support, earc port and VRR. Definitely not overkill. I use it for both my PC and Xbox series X.
Why so many censored words?
Cause I curse a ton.
I see, the noise from the censorship is distracting and harsh on the ear.
Thanks for the feedback. I’ll send it along to the support team ;)
Thank you. Great review.
Can you explain the hotkey functions in the menu?
