      I just bought one, and I'm really liking it. The last monitor I bought was the 48" lg OLED, which was good, but somewhat disappointing when it comes to the cost. The Alienware 32, on the other hand, is stunning, with insane colors.

    I've been wanting 4K 32" OLED for awhile now! But not sure I'm ready for a curved display though. I almost got a 43" OLED but read a lot that text looked bad on them. And was afraid it would would be too big. I've been using a Gigabyte M32U 4K 32" 144hz monitor the last few years its been serving me well though.

      The curve is a little odd at first and can take some getting used to for productivity. I think my experience with a curved ultrawide made me more confident with this Alienware. I believe console mode may give you the ability to bypass the tone mapping of the monitor and solely allow the source to tone map the content. This is based on what the alienware 34" did in console mode. Solid review. This monitor is at the top of my list currently as a do everything monitor. That 3 year warranty is fantastic as well. I feel like I want to use it more with that so I get the most out of it before the burn in inevittably happens, whenver that might be.

    Interesting, and thanks for the real-world demo on your Mac as well as your Windows box. I bought the Apple Studio Display and didn’t look back, mostly for how well the color is calibrated right from the factory, the dynamic range, and how nice the very fine pixel pitch 5K display is for photo editing. The resale value of Apple displays is insanely good as well. (This is assuming of course you’re a Mac-only user, which I recognize is a severe handicap for gamers). Having said all that, Apple really, really needs competition to push them forward with more frequent display introductions and something at a lower price point in their lineup. I’m looking forward to your next PC build with an absolutely screaming graphics card, now that prices seem to be dipping a bit at the top of the ranges. Yours is always an informative channel. Thats because of the light hitting the QD OLED. It raises blacks and looks more purple but tbh its really a none issue as you wont be using it in a lit room anyway as the thing doesn't get bright enough to really use in one. If it was in a correctly lit room the OLED would honestly look better.

    The console settings are good for HDR where you can enable external tone mapping which works best imo. The menu system is annoying but you can download the manager and use it on the desktop instead. Works much better. I use it to control 2 Dell monitors. And on that note, if you buy an OLED for PC, try using another display to keep icons etc. You can put a wallpaper on that on leaving the OLED with a black wallpaper, thus minimising potential burn in. Ive used OLEDs for years and never had burn in.

      Yw! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Neither is eye fatiguing and I've used both for 8 hours a day for coding. However, that's just me and everyone's experience might be a little different. The ASD is ever so slightly sharper and it's also smaller. I don't believe you'll need a curtain to block sunlight on the regular unless your monitor is right up next to the window. I use mine against my window but it's facing away from it so light pours into my room from behind it and I haven't had any issues with that. I do some more testing with this in my "7 things to know..." video, if you'd be interested.

      You're referring to the U4025QW, right? I can't speak from personal experience with that monitor but it seems really impressive on paper. 40in is going to be very different in size than 32in. The 40 being IPS isn't going to have near the contrast as the 32" OLED. I recommend checking out Dave's Garage's review of this monitor. I can see motion blur in MW3 on your Alienhead OLED. Do you have motion blur enabled within the in game settings? I’m sensitive to motion blur. Only use CRT’s and Zowie’s high refresh rate TN panels for shooter games to get rid of most of the sample & hold blur that other panels seem to not be able to eliminate.

    • @TaylorBrauer
      @TaylorBrauer  10 місяців тому +2

      My game settings have world and weapon motion blur disabled. I film at 24fps so it's likely what you're seeing is a direct result of that. UA-cam supports up to 60fps videos which still would show blurring on a high refresh rate monitor. Essentially, it's impossible to convey a true to life representation of the motion clarity. I'd recommend seeing it in person, if possibile, if you're considering this monitor and are on the fence with the blur.

It's most visible and distracting in a black room with all lights turned off, but is still visible with lights on and looks like reflections off the screen when panning the camera around in games with a lot of dark gray content, such as Resident Evil 2 Remake.
