replicating the actual camera angels and movements here is probably one of the more impressive things. the choreography still holds up too when animated. this is awesome.
Well, he literally is, just not in that sense. G-man is a slang term for "government man" ie agent of some bureau. G-man is called so because he posed as one. Smith and other Agents also pose as so.
Love the fact at 4:03 you so accurately animated Keanu grabbing his safety lines to complete the flip, can see the reference so clearly it's uncanny, phenomenal work
What's really impressive is how you did the facial animations, especially from 3:45 to 3:55, there're so many subtleties in how their lips curl and their cheeks strain that really make the expressions look realistic, even moreso than most cutscenes I see in AAA games nowadays. Great work
I'm _starting to believe_ that this is a seriously underrated channel, and this gem of a vid deserves a few more zeroes at the end of the current view count Instant sub and craving for moar!
It's always extremely disappointing to see amazing animation work like this not done proper justice by the algorithm. 1 month and only 50k views? Not acceptable. Shameful. Do better, UA-cam.
As someone who watched this scene probably about 1000 times, this is absolutely amazing. Even watching at 1:24 the animation managed to replicate the feel of Smith's punches how heavy they are compared to Neo's.
No wonder about DOCTOR Gordon Freeman's abilities in the Matrix after all what he experienced during Black Mesa already. He's highly trained professional, after all!
0:25 I can only imagine how frustrating it must have been for you to get the paper flying in working only for it not making it in for some reason cause only a true fan would spend so long making this
Thanks. Can't actually recall why i haven't added it, might've simply forgot. I remember that i haven't found a suitable model for it. I could've made it myself, but i just forgot.
I gotta say this: The Subway Fight looks so much better in animation. There's more room for fast pace in the movement of the choreography, and the impacts actually feel very powerful and visceral (thought here and there you can tell when the characters are throwing ragdoll attacks fit for puppetry, though they are still overshadowed here) the expressions in animated faces also make up for some of the bland wood acting in the film. And the choice of G-man as Agent Smith was absolute GENIUS!! Hugo Weaving's voice bleeds right into G-Man perfectly.
Back in the early 2000s one of the most common online animation tropes was for people to recreate scenes from The Matrix in Flash, I made a few of them myself in fact, it's great to see this still alive in 2024.
Wow I remember seeing a wip of this a long time ago, I didn't realize you were doing the whole fight. must have been a pain in the ass to animate. I need to make some fighting animations of my own.
Thanks! Well, i wanted to abandon this project, took a long break from working on it. But then i thought to myself - i got all scenes from first SFM back then, when i was less experienced with animation as a whole... i can just make them a little better, acceptable. Probably the biggest project i have ever worked on. It would be dope to see your fighting animations, all the best!)
Now that's a masterpiece, each and every angle, movement and soundtrack cues are on point. I could never imagine how much work went into this, greetings from a fellow Matrix fan❤
Holy shit, one of the best videos S2FM I never seen ! Everything is well done, the movements, everything ! Now next challenge: Recreate the entire movie with half life characters
1:23 Sorry for commenting again, but I keep coming back to this and noticing new things. The way the expression is done for those final couple of frames before the next sequence is so brilliant. The amount of detail you've plopped into this is absolutely unbelievable
Jesus christ, this is one of the best made animations I’ve seen in ages. The smoothness, the details, the way their faces match the face movements in the original clip- Mate, you even have the ticket taking booth break the same way it does in the film, where the top board doesn’t break, which actually gave the stuntman in that scene a concussion. Weird little details like that remain because of how much bloody work must have gone into this…
This is absolutely incredible. I'd be happy to help crowdfunding a full remake of The Matrix on SFM. Hell, with this quality of animation, I'd help funding an entire original feature film. Astonishing job!
As a big matrix fan and half life fan, this ABSOLUTELLY ROCKS! Great job on the animation! (Also the facial animations at 1:20 are insanely good, looks almost real)
I got so engrossed that I just simply expected thr rest of the film to keep playing, this is an amazing animation! I can only imagine the man hours this took to replicate!!!
absolutely amazing! the attention to detail is off the charts! I love gman being an agent too, that was a perfect choice hahah, the choreography especially is fantastic, very good lip sync, just spectacular stuff all around
The whole thing is an amazing recreation top to bottom, but what really stands out to me is just how phenomenal all the little facial expressions are. Part of what made this fight scene so iconic is what it means personally for each of the characters. They're BOTH trying to escape from the matrix, but through opposing means that set each up as an obstacle to the other, and Reeves' and Weaving's performances really sell both the animosity each character has for the other, as well as the ideals that they both fight for with Neo's staunch stoicism in the middle of a life or death battle, and Smith's sadistic glee at the mere idea of causing Neo pain even if it means taking a train to the face himself. You managed to masterfully capture the subtly and humanity behind both of those performances, which I feel is even more of an achievement than recapturing the hype of one of the most bad ass fist fights in all of American cinema. Exceptionally well done!

2:39 A legendary moment faithfully recreated
Too iconic)
He needs to make a version of the whole fight but neo only uses the throat attack
Fantastic work. Hope this is your calling card for UA-cam's algorithm to pick you up.

kind of fitting that this fight takes place in a train station considering that the Half-Life games tend to start/end on trains.
