Any soil I bring into my house old or new is sterilized my plants/spouts/starts are inside for a long time. As we get closer to planting time outside may be only a few weeks but do not want to risk infecting the rest. The only time I do not worry about this process id if I am up-potting and they are going directly outside.
Do you do this with new, bought this current year potting soil, or just older soil? And only for seed starting?
