Was this supposed to be 5pm😂
🤣🤣 it was
"in my defense i was left unsupervised" lol thats so good
That is the perfect t-shirt for me
@@assassinlexx1993 i have one on the way to me
Likewise.
I bought a few t-shirts after watching this vid to wear at work lol
Quality t shirt don’t no why he’s fighting his defence lol 😂 should have just pointed and said say no more lol
I used to work as a fitter at the Kubota dealership here in SE Queensland for around fourteen months. The swizzle plate in the final drive takes four blokes to fit. Absolute bastard. Also, if the hydraulics are slowing, try replacing the pilot filter, a bitch to get at, rarely replaced, but essential.
The excavator seems to be suffering from operators who are allergic to grease guns. Properly maintained, a Kubota will easily last 5,000 to 6,000 hours use. The old saying that oil is cheaper than spare parts applies here. Cheers.
that wouldn't happen to be the one in nambour? I've got parts for a kubota outfront from there
The hour clock broke at 19k hours
So is the hour clock and final drive still under warranty ;)
Don't grease it,lease it.
@@MrHewesthat's only 2 years straight of 24/7 run time
Any other nosey buggers out there wondering what time sensitive snap Taya had sent Joe? And who is playing the drums?😊
Nudes obviously 🤷🏼♀️
Same for both!
Dont you just love it? a random drums being played on the background? Brilliant 😂 I hope Mr Hewes keeps this unplanned events in the video's!
Joe can *smell* the old grease? The same guy who can't smell anything? Okay, now we know the real Joe is gone, snatched up and replaced by a pod person!
and Jack in the manner of dracula loves the smell
Since getting Covid my smell comes back here and there its so strange…
@@MrHewes so sometimes you can smell your own and Jack's farts then? Cool!
In the words of Andrew Camarata "It broke for no reason" 😂
Crikey, must be a few Aussies watching thiss a smoko! Looks like the Brits don't have lifetime oil in their diggas either! I have seen some do that in Ozz too. Who would ever think to change oil in final drives with Tonka truck size gears, but the smaller gears wear a LOT quicker than gears .....lets say ...um tank sized. Ps I think the damage was done years before Jack got his paws on it. Love the T shirt mate. G'day from Tasmania
I blame Ted. He wasn’t taking his manager position serious enough.
Ted's nose does work and he was off at the first whiff of that grease.
Jack wearing the perfect T-Shirt for the perfect video 😂😂😂
Keep the videos coming guys
Is that Ted playing the Drums? Getting his own back for the piano noise 😂😂
After seeing several of your entertaining videos, I have to admit that I'm beginning to love Mr. Hewes' amiable group of pommies. Your mechanical skill sets are so versatile, it's amazing. It is surprising how well you can work in muddy oil settings or in frost and rain. I worked for a period of years in a number of coal-fired power stations in OZ with some rather gifted fitters & turners who worked on the plant, plus mechanics who mainly serviced D9's at that time. Keep up the vids as it reminds me of a better England.
Weld the splines up and then file them to shape for a cheaper repair lol 😂😂😂
I was thinking the same thing. Good enough for the customer.
If you watch those awful Pakistani and Indian workshop vids that's what they'd do.@@johnlemmey7698
I liked the bit where we Aussies could watch it in the correct orientation 😂
Maybe I’d do a whole video for you guys soon
Hey there is at least one New Zealander subscribed too and it's not easy typing upside down. Very brave filming your phone screen, never quite sure what will come up on mine. Would have liked to see Tayah's photo.@@MrHewes
Jack's shirt says it all really. 😂
12.24 finally the vision comes the right way up for us in OZ.
Joe, I’m disappointed you didn’t just weld those two shafts together. Thats what a real cheapskate would do. I should know😂
Job sorted. Saved £1600. Cup of tea well in order. 👍👍👍
Definitely time for a cup of tea 😎
I use Bryco in Daventry for Kubota parts, the guys there are proper farmer boys and know their stuff! They know anything and everything and stock so much!
Yipes! It's basically toothless..
in Jacks defense .. that Digger has been neglected for years , he was the unfortunate who it died on
U guys should be right on the ball with track vehicles Damo
Nice work.
Axle Gear Oil is the worst of odors for sure on the oil spectrum. It's probably similar stuff to what your defender uses.
Blooming farmers! Bet that’s the original oil 😜 work it till it stops then blame the product ……..oh the nostalgic smell of cooked 90w in the morning. Wait till you strip the 215, remember the brakes are spring applied and pressure released.
Fishermen were worse than farmers for bodges and neglect, (when we had a fishing fleet ) working for Cat you saw it all 😂
What an anti consumer piece of equipment
4.38 minutes, is someone playing a drum kit in the back ground. Sounds good. 😊
0:14 got to say the shirt perfectly suits the occasion
continue with those videos guys you make ma day
Hey what's this about us Aussies bein upside down.😂😂 I'll give yas one back for that you bloddy poms. Love it. The Ole Fella from Downunda
There's got to be a few tank track idlers lying around that can be used for a top roller.🤔 The one on the other side was wollered out too.
These men are literally the funniest guys on UA-cam
That is a PERFECT t-shirt for Jack.
What an apropos T-shirt Jack's wearing for the guy that "broke it".
I would have never guessed there was a wire holding the plate on. Sneaky
Dumb counter intuitive design..
Couldn't have worn a more perfect t-shirt 😄
Hi Joe,
For you this must be a piece of cake to repair the traction system of the digger Jack has broken. Look forward to your next vlog and send you love from the Netherlands
Jack fukd up ohhhhh teds guna be pissed 🤣 cheap skate love it keep it up boys 😉👍👊
Ooooo, wire, haven’t seen that since the 80’s JCB rams :o)
A true farmer would welded that shaft and cut new grooves 😂😂
That is the biggest breaker bar I have ever seen Lmao need one of those
good to see you doing other stuff, all similar to tanks, or rather tanks are similar, like the new direction of explaining what you are doing.....
OMG the t-shirt again. How fitting almost planned maybe?!? lolz
When it's free, treat her mean!
How in the heck did you see and understand how the “retaining wire” was incorporated into the drive mechanism? I looked at the “exploded parts PDF” and couldn’t see any reference to that wire retainer. When you yanked that thing out, it left me awe struck. I would of had taken a gas axe to that piece of crap out of frustration and then dug the pit by hand out of remorse! Great job! Fun video! Thanks for the black belt lesson in emotional intelligence. 😎👍🏻
🤣🤣 I’m very determined
I once rewired my dad's little kubota. Remember, smaller is sweeter!
I'd check the spoil to see if the top roller is in it but it may have been missing for some time though. I can smell that grease from here!
i gave this a thumbs up purely for the finger to the mud
In his defense, Jack was wearing the right shirt.
That’s another fine mesh you got me into
Thought you might have welded up the splines and then ground them down with a 9" grinder, you're spending way to much money.😂
Why don’t you take both parts to a machinist shop and have the splines machined? Would be a lot faster and cheaper! Down here in Cornwall there’s a machinist who’s done short shafts for me and it’s surprisingly cheap!
Ahhhhhhhhh love the videos man 🎉
I'm a new member to your channel. Love your videos, I think you guys have a really nice job mending tanks and it's cool to see the comradeship between the team members. I like Jack, he seems like a solid chap that you can definetly rely on. The PornHub hat, "this is a two seater" t-shirt and giving-the-fingers to the camera when under duress just adds to the character.
Without going to far with the dick riding but I gotta say I quite like Mr Hewes too. Your mechanic skills and knoweldge seem unreal for a guy who looks on his mid 20s.
Hands on approach, starting engines that have being rotting away for 20+ years, fucking around with those maaassive gear boxes, making sense of over complicated electric systems..you guys can do it all... and it's nice too see. Makes for good content, so keep it coming, subscribed!
Jack m8 i feel your pain ...
That sort of shit happens to me all the time !!
Works fine for everybody else UNTIL IT'S my turn !!
Oh and PERFECT T SHIRT !!
It'd be more convenient if they engineered the obsolescence into the female, motor side of that spline...but then they couldnt flog you a final drive for £2k
Good old Planed Obsolescence.
Congratulations Joe, your sense of smell has returned! 🫨👍
It’s so strange to be able to smell again
@@MrHewes as long as it's rancid enough! 🤔😒🤣
Mr. Hughes on flipping people off and they're going to take that as an indecent proposal
Leave the young chap alone, he must learn from all you other young guys, bext regards from a Kiwi living in Australia 👍👍👍👍
Hewes, avid fan from Australia and loving your content you post. I look forward to your weekly posts on what you do. However could you tell us who the rest of your crew are. So far there's you, jack and fitter matt (who's content is far less then yours). Just a little unsure who else helps out restoring these fantastic beasts. Keep posting mate from down under
its fiiiine, slap a bitta ducktape around it, be good as new 🤣
It crossed my mind
Who was destroying that drumkit at 5.24? Sounded like someone kicked a one man band down a flight of tower block stairs. ROCK AND ROLLLL.
🤣🤣
If it’s got tracks you can fix it
But you have to paint the digger army green.
The ironic thing is how to do all this correctly and easily is available on you tube.
Get your shovel out Jack there’s digging to be done !
5:14 with working on tanks you’ll be fine, that would be like a cobbler buying new shoes when the sole wore out on his shoe
Bloody brilliant lads! The thing that gets me the most, is even when things go pear shaped, there is no tempers or shouting.....I'm sure it happens but it seems rare! Just found your channel and it's a pleasure to watch , plus being "Down Under" I appreciate the camera upside down!
Cuppa Tea...??? Fu$%^ng good idea!
Love your work and keep it up....as the stripper said to the Vicar 🙂
Cheers Gregg.
To the auction with it!
Man, that FD Spline is absolutely torn to shreds, that's from stress over time and lack of lubrication it seems, that and just over time it wore the spline down.
Definitely the same as everyone else’s thing, jack is wearing the best t shirt
You could just would a socket on 1 drive and an extansion on motor side and 2 pieces will still connect together and come apart, ultimate bodge job, id like to see how you put that wire back in
Looks like your digger has the same dental services as the rest of Britain.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
What free and one of the best in the world?
Bugger is if you buy 1 new drive it would constantly want to go in circles , from the other 1 gone a bit weak , always worth checking the hub oils of diggers , 50/50 chance its not leaking oil because it leaked out a decade ago 😂
The smell of the oil must be bad since Mr Hewes has moaned about his lack of smell so much before...
Jack broke it? What a day to wear that shirt Jack! How did it drive onto the back of the truck? If you've bought the digger, I can see many videos in the future, with some fantastic bodges! 🌝👍
It was working at that point..
@@MrHewes Only just. How long warranty is there with it? 🤣🤣🤣
With new parts it will be good as new as long as your new is not to good.
Great i’m late for work now 👍🏼🏴☠️✌🏼
No I just got AM and PM mixed lol
Love these vids where you fix stuff and don’t just dick about. Great 👍
Now that you are busy repairing the one side, I would check the other side and replace the idlers with home made ones?
Nothing like a good catastrophic failure gents 👌
omg - that final drive is way smaller than half the running gear on my car - you'd think all this stuff would be way heavier in build, and the price doesn't help at all
the fun and games of learning to strip things down you know nothing about, i get this all the time when scrapping aviation parts, some bits you cannot get out, since its bound for the scrap bin, i can at least get violent and use the dangle rinder, much fun and happiness
i quite like Kubota and hope to do some interesting work with them, i just need a reliable contact, preferably state side
For what it's supposed to do, I'd consider the splined part of the drive to be significantly under-engineered.
Yes but then again it’s 1996
@@MrHewes Ah, a tad 'tired' then.
Volvo’s manual says that you can’t push with the blade with high speed travel mode. I bet that ate the splines.
Used to drive a machine that was built on a Kubota track frame broken final drives was a common problem there's nothing you can fix once they fail good used one is the answer as the planetary gear set will have disinterested
I stripped a steering ram off an old Massey, bloody thing had a wire holding it together! Took me an hour till the wire popped its head out 🤬🤦♂. I’m surprised you didn’t just weld the shaft up… not that I would 😬🙄
Jack's a good operator ......... just f*^%*n' hard on gear lol
Jack fux it, and you fix it, good arrangement
Remember Jack. Never dig over the drive wheels.
Not the only time you had a worn out shaft in your hand that day, I'll bet 😁
Lack of maintenance there, lads.
Who was that drummer in the back ground as it sounds like my grandson who has a set of drums.
You guys always get things up and running again.
I think it’s the kid that lives opposite me, that might seem odd because I’m about 18 miles from where Joe is but jeez the bloke makes a lot of noise..
@@oldmanwith I thought it was from the Caravan Park next to Joe`s.
😎👍
You could bodge up some top rollers with some big old bolts and iron wheels off an old trolley jack.
Or just not bother.
It’s getting treated
That wire got a square profile ;)
Where I'm from a cup a tea means you're smoking a joint 😊
🤠
I can't believe smashing it with a hammer didn't fix it
Mud destroyer of AFVs 😂
Mint, just needs a coat of paint.
Thats a prooer fix not an agricutural fix, that woujd be matt putting a few weld spots on the shaft, a few seconds with a grinder and bray it back together, so in 6 months time you waste days and eventually burn the pin.out cursing matt for a bodge
I'm slightly surprised you didn't weld the two splined sections together. Much temporary cheapness. (and probable inability to reassemble)
You couldn’t assemble it had I of done that
