The standard Scorpion is a lot of fun to ride. Looks cool, the full suspension provides for smooth travels. Big bright lights a comfortable seat and lots of hill climbing power.
I have this Scorpion in blue and it’s awesome. The 750W motor makes it ebike legal according to federal law. Anything above 750W cannot be considered an electric bicycle by law and therefore cannot use bike lanes, has to be registered with the DMV, etc. With 750 W motor you’re completely free, plus the speed is plenty enough in my opinion. Also, I pedal this thing all the time and have done so for like 5-6 hours straight on a few occasions and I have no trouble with seat height. I’m a 5’10” male. Just make sure you keep a straight back and don’t hunch over the handlebar.

I've always wanted one but i never understood how i would use it. They're too slow to be allowed on highways and too fast to be allowed on bike paths, so how to you get around on one? You're pretty much confined to local streets.
Exactly. I'm too poor to buy a car and thought something like this would be the solution. Turns out, KY doesn't agree. lol there are higher speed ones you can bring on the highways, but the catch is that if its that fast, its a motorcycle and needs a license + insurance, defeating the purpose.
They're really not too fast for bike paths, especially since you obviously don't have to go full speed. On a bike like this the throttle is only 20mph, which a much lighter pedal bike can hit anyways, and even if you pedal really hard they max out at 28mph. Will you review the new Segway C80 moped!?!? Please want you’re honest and professional opinion about it if it is really worth the money? I realize it is a slower moped but would it be good for around town cruising in flat range areas?
Thanks for terrific vid. I agree with you. Looks like it's faster but probably a cruiser. But for $1899 from China? I'd say $1500 would be fair. It's not a mid-drive motor but instead a rear wheel single speed. What about replacement parts? Don't get me wrong, I like the Scorpion a lot and the owner is cool but it sure is pricey and at some point difficult to maintain. Battery might cost anywhere from $350 and up and would be a direct part purchase from Juiced until someone can copy the battery harness. But sizing the ebike is kind of difficult to gauge. Can you give your opinion about different heights and comfort to pedal? Thanks.
Do you experts think the price will go down eventually ? Or would it stay about the same. Thinking about getting an electric bike but pretty expensive for what I’ll be using it for and that’ll just be to go to work and the gym/jiu jitsu class. It’ll save me money on gas in the long run so I’m just wondering if I should wait or just buy it
I know it's just battery powered but is it legal, to ride the roads with other vehicles without things like a license and insurance? Someone let me know please
Yes the Scorpion adheres to Class 2 throttle and Class 3 pedal assist regulations. It does not require license, registration, nor insurance to ride and can legally go anywhere bicycles can go.
This is great, but if something is right on the line between e-bike and electric moped, I prefer to stick with the e-bike. You can take it inside, park it anywhere, and use the bike lane without people looking at you like you're breaking the rules.
Achiya HaShiloni This model is an ebike that is styled like a moped. They other higher end model, the HyperScorpion is capable of 30+ mph and is more like an actual moped in performance class.
@@achiyahashiloni1269 My good friend is a former police officer and he also says 30 mph is considered moped class in the USA. This is quoted from Wikipedia as it relates to moped laws in the USA: "Legal terms and definitions of low-powered cycles vary from state to state and may include "moped", "motorcycle", "motorbike", "motorized bicycle", "motor scooter", "scooter", "goped", "motor-driven cycle", and others. A moped's speed generally may not exceed 30 mph (48 km/h) on level ground, even if it is capable of going faster. In a few states this number is 20 or 25 mph (32 or 40 km/h), and in most states, the maximum engine capacity is 50 cc (3.1 cu in). However, Kansas ("Motorized Bicycle" K.S.A. 8-126, 8-1439a) allows up to 130 cc (7.9 cu in).[40] Some states require pedals, while others do not." - Source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moped

The DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) dictates that these vehicles possess the following characteristics: They have 2 or 3 wheels They can reach no more than 30 mph (406(a)) or 20 mph (406(b)) while on flat ground, with motor and pedal activation They include foot pedals that can be used for manual propulsion, or additional propulsion when used with the motor Their motor produces no more than 2 brake horsepower They only utilize automatic transmissions They use an electric motor that propels the vehicle without pedal activation (406(a)) California divides their mopeds into two different classes: 406(a) and 406(b). 406(a) a class of moped that operates using a motor with greater power. In this list above, there are designations that indicate which characteristics specifically apply to each class. Mopeds that meet 406(b) classification use less power and operate up to a lesser speed than the previous class." Source: kitaylaw.com/new-california-moped-laws-2019/
Quoted from Section 406(a) of the California Vehicle Code: "406.(a) A “motorized bicycle” or “moped” is a two-wheeled or three-wheeled device having fully operative pedals for propulsion by human power, or having no pedals if powered solely by electrical energy, and an automatic transmission and a motor that produces less than 4 gross brake horsepower and is capable of propelling the device at a maximum speed of not more than 30 miles per hour on level ground." Hey Micah, with how many ebikes you've ridden it seems like you're in a unique position to compare different models. Along those lines, I'd love to hear a minute of commentary towards the end of these reviews about how each bike stacks up against others in its "class". With the Scorpion, for example, the RadRunner and S73 jump out as obvious competitors that people watching this video might be considering. Would be great to hear your thoughts since you've ridden all those!

Hello:) is it true that the shifter is upside down for the speed control thank you and have a great day
It's got the look but needs a lot more juice to be truly Juiced in my book.
That’s why I purchased the “hyper” scorpion.
@@emiliano155 Yeah, me too, No excuses, should be cool.
Hyperscorpion.
Your shifter on left handlegrip is upside down. I see another post that this upside down shifter was also sent to another customer out of the box. Has this issue been fixed?
Any way to get this in europe without paying like 2000 usd shipping from ´murica?
Would pay 3k for this cash if i could get it here with an eu vendor. :P
What happens if you get a puncture
You did not say whether or not the wheels are solid or have inner tubes or whatever.
3:30 there's something siriesly rong with that chain frees it at 3:38
Miguel Colón woah wtf is that about ? Glitch in the matrix?
I think he's using a 360 camera, which stitches together images from 2 lenses. That's the stich point
Do a review of the babymaker ebike from indiegogo
Those don’t ship until November I think
Here’s a pretty solid review.

Please review the hyperscorpion
where is that? looks nice and clean!
Looking good on that bike Micah! It fits you try reviewing that hyper here it pretty fast. Would like to see that. Thinking about getting one but...man pricey for 65inches of aluminum. And I a great the weight stymies the 750watt mother. Upgrading my RadMini with Bolton Bikes upgrade kit and Electricbikeworlds Bafang “real” 750watt motor. Got motor waiting on controller and monitor.. with 20” wheels this will give me the torque I need (hills). May convert to 52v battery down the road (maybe) for speed. But thinking Hyper Scorpion hmmm...
The only issue for me would be the battery cause I would mainly use it for working and commuting from work to my home.
Do you know of any e scooters without peddles with a top speed of 20 mph? Thanks!
Will you review the new Segway C80 moped!?!? Please want you’re honest and professional opinion about it if it is really worth the money? I realize it is a slower moped but would it be good for around town cruising in flat range areas?
Can I buy this bike from UK please????
Yo quiero una donde estan de venta
Thanks.
Gr8 bike, wish ebike were that cheap here in Australia. I might have to make one 😬
Cuando las traerán a Perú....espero pronto
Do you experts think the price will go down eventually ? Or would it stay about the same. Thinking about getting an electric bike but pretty expensive for what I’ll be using it for and that’ll just be to go to work and the gym/jiu jitsu class. It’ll save me money on gas in the long run so I’m just wondering if I should wait or just buy it
I know it's just battery powered but is it legal, to ride the roads with other vehicles without things like a license and insurance? Someone let me know please
Yea
Yes the Scorpion adheres to Class 2 throttle and Class 3 pedal assist regulations. It does not require license, registration, nor insurance to ride and can legally go anywhere bicycles can go.
Speaking of mopeds... can you review the Monday motorbike gen7?
Thanks for the great review! Is there an integrated break light or is it a non-reactive light on the rear?
whether sold to Indonesia?
I just got mime went out to give it a test but i hear something like if the break pad is touching the disc any one know how to adjust
go to juiced bikes scorpion facebook group and ask. there are tons of info for you. they are willing to give free advice.
@3:24 look at that chain 👀
Looks weak for the price
They "STILL" have their gear lever upside down?? What's up with that?
I like everything about it but are you allowed to ride this in parks? Would cops let you ride since it’s considered as semi moped 🏍
This is great, but if something is right on the line between e-bike and electric moped, I prefer to stick with the e-bike. You can take it inside, park it anywhere, and use the bike lane without people looking at you like you're breaking the rules.
how tall are you?
Is it me or is the gear shift indicator upside down?
I'm getting one but diff brand but looks similar with 8000W 96V for 200 bucks
They’re definitely lying to you and you’d be crazy to believe you’re actually getting that for 200$ lmao
the rotor in the front is 180mm, but the back is 160, I know that because I just bought some extra ones
How is this an emoped if limited to 20 mph on throttle only???
Achiya HaShiloni This model is an ebike that is styled like a moped. They other higher end model, the HyperScorpion is capable of 30+ mph and is more like an actual moped in performance class.
@@ebikefansfo sorry 30 mph isn't a 'moped' e or otherwise... its a in this case heavy expensive bike
@@achiyahashiloni1269 Quoted info from a lawyer mentioning 30 mph too: "According to the state of California, mopeds are synonymous with motorized bicycles. The DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) dictates that these vehicles possess the following characteristics:
They have 2 or 3 wheels
They can reach no more than 30 mph (406(a)) or 20 mph (406(b)) while on flat ground, with motor and pedal activation
They include foot pedals that can be used for manual propulsion, or additional propulsion when used with the motor
Their motor produces no more than 2 brake horsepower
They only utilize automatic transmissions
They use an electric motor that propels the vehicle without pedal activation (406(a))
California divides their mopeds into two different classes: 406(a) and 406(b).
Quoted from Section 406(a) of the California Vehicle Code: "406.(a) A “motorized bicycle” or “moped” is a two-wheeled or three-wheeled device having fully operative pedals for propulsion by human power, or having no pedals if powered solely by electrical energy, and an automatic transmission and a motor that produces less than 4 gross brake horsepower and is capable of propelling the device at a maximum speed of not more than 30 miles per hour on level ground." How difficult would it be to add rear view mirrors?
I'm surprised there's no mention of the shifter being assembled upside down!

How is this bike compared to super 73?
Can you compare it with the Chinese one.
What country is it built in ?
Cheap bike made in china bad quality
The low speed is a bit confusing. I know you are a lighter guy so maybe your setting weren't set right, or your battery wasn't full when you did the speed test
Hey Micah, with how many ebikes you've ridden it seems like you're in a unique position to compare different models.
Agreed, would also love some comparison reviews!
How is it for trail riding?
I don't think you can take this bike on trails because it's considered a moped

This look like a fun bike to ride I won't mind having one😃
Decent review, but I'm a little disappointed on how you didn't go over the upside down shifter on the left, you literally had a clip of it. Also, i really wish you'd include maintenance review, in the event that something breaks, how hard will it be to replace it? Hows their customer service. Are the cables snap on? Overall i found this lackluster.
What is there to say about it? It’s a shifter.
Can you do a review of the police bike that goes 200 miles it from Europe please it's 5000.00 it's fast
