Alison, you are absolutely delightful to listen to and watch so joyful. You’re so descriptive in your approach and I learned so much! I would never have thought to add blues or purples and yet the effect was amazing! Thank you for your wonderful tutorials.
Thank you so much Alison, I really really enjoyed watching you and listening to you too. I think 🤔 this is a Fantastically a great video and I absolutely love ❤❤❤❤ the pages that you’ve created. Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags 😊
Beautiful colors! I love purples, purple-reds, oranges, browns, yellows, greens, and natural grays during autumn. The seasons are starting to change here (in Tennessee) too. Another lovely inspiring video. Thanks.
Thank you - yes, it's the shifting seasons that govern my colour palettes through the year, for sure. Happy you enjoyed seeing the autumn colours start to arrive.
You are my new UA-cam “crush” 😅. Seriously, EVERTHING about your videos is simply delightful. Your words and your voice, your presentation and style, your art and creativity, the list goes on. I’ve already purchased some of your stamp sets and can’t wait to create with YOU!
Oh, what a lovely piece of feedback to read - thank you so much for putting the biggest smile on my face. I'm delighted you are enjoying it all so much. Thank you for watching and for your warm words, and your company on this creative journey!
Very beautiful. I really love the one that has the web stencil on it. That one looks like something you would see on a map. That’s what came to my mind anyway. 🙂🐰
Thank you for that lovely feedback - your comment put a big smile on my face. Next stop for these backgrounds will be some die-cutting... but not for a couple of weeks (I've got to go away for work), but will be other minutes of fun to enjoy in the meantime!
These autumn backgrounds looks so gorgeous warm and rich😍I can already see beautiful leaves in them 🍂 thanks for the inspiration Alison and stay safe in the wet weather...hopefully it won't be in the neighbourhood you're living🍀❤
If you've seen my "other self" on IG @b0hem1anh0me there's an update there... parts of my village have been evacuated, but only the low-lying areas, and we're lucky that our house is on higher ground. Hopefully we're over the worst of it now... our forecast for the next few days is still rainy, but not as heavy as it has been, and not as bad as some other places. Thanks for your thoughts, and I'm happy you love the autumnal craft fun starting to appear!
I love the fall colors. I want to go buy all the colors of sprays! Off to play with what I have to see what I come up with. Thank you for the inspiration!
Great to see these backgrounds made with sprays. Lovely color combinations that I must keep in mind for my papers to make die cuts or leaves. And working in larger pieces of paper gives a lot more die cuts in a shorter time. Now I go and check which colors of spray are in my stash.
It all ended up a lot more golden than I was originally thinking - but I'll be die-cutting some other papers along with these, to get more of a mixture!
No, summer is not over yet (as you'll see next Saturday!) but I do love the zing the autumn colours start to bring! Thanks for watching and for your lovely comment.
Oh my! You make this look so easy. These are beautiful backgrounds. Clearly I need to play a lot more. Thanks for the demo, and I'm now going back to the use of the leaves.
@@w0rdsandp1ctures I was waiting patiently hoping soon you would show them, you have the best color combinations. I used to be better with color before I started doing computer graphics. You are inspiring me.
Hi Alison, I'm new to your channel and I'm SO glad I found you on here. I've been binge-watching all your videos and they're amazing. You're a fabulous artist, and I'm learning more from you than anyone else. I'm glad I've caught up with your videos, but I do have lots more to see. Thank you for sharing your amazing creations with us. You're a fantastic teacher. Have a fab weekend. Take care, xx❤❤❤❤😊😊
Happy you found your way here - welcome! I'm delighted you're enjoying the videos, for learning and for inspiration... Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback, which has put a big smile on my face.
I love a bit of contrast - in autumn one of my favourite things is burnished leaves against a blue sky, or dropped onto greenish water, as well as the trees when they are only partly turned in colour - so those combinations make sense to me. Happy you enjoyed the autumnal playtime. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Thanks Alison! This was a much appreciated minutes of fun, especially just going through a hurricane here! My few minutes of fun powered by generated light! It was nice to feel a bit normal tonight! ❤
Yes, we're very (very) wet here at the moment... flooding across large parts of Central Europe. Our house is okay, but some of the lower roads in and out of the village are closed. Hope you stay safe from the winds and we'll do our best to stay safe from the waters!!
Last night I used your poppy stamp on some paper bag, a page of an antique pricing book, a weathered page from a novel and a page ripped from an old dictionary. I used black soot Distress Oxide to stamp the image and then I used a light wash of leftover titanium white acrylic paint to sloppily paint the poppies. They’re so beautiful! Some of the black soot reactivated with the watery white...delicious! This video has inspired me to use my Distress Spray Stains (I have only 4: gathered twigs, hickory smoke, speckled egg and peeled paint) on some more of these papers and then to stamp and whitewash the poppies atop the stains. I’m going to have a few hours of fun tomorrow. 🖌😁❤
Oh, that sounds wonderful - such exciting ingredients, and it sounds like a beautiful result. (If you share your work on Instagram or anywhere like that, do tag me in or share a link here... I love to see what people create with the stamps.) Those sound like excellent colours to have chosen for your selection of sprays - love them all! Enjoy your poppy playtime tomorrow, and thank you so much for your comment and your company on this creative journey.
Thanks so much, Alison. Just as you said, perfect autumnal backgrounds for my 'four seasons' idea. It is always a joy to watch you creating and the end results are beautiful.

We're still overwhelmingly green on the trees here, but little hints of autumn are starting to show... and it's always fun when that autumnal zing turns up on the craft mat. Happy to have your company for the fall fun!
Hello Alison! OH SUCH BEAUTIFUL COLORS…. My FAVORITE thing about Autumn are the brilliant hues. I will definitely be getting out my huge craft sheet to cover my table to play with some sprays then stamp & cut some amazing leaves… YES… thanks for sharing your amazing creativity and inspiration! Beautiful papers!! Playing with sprays is one of my favorite things to do, I usually stay in one color way and set them aside for die cutting. Now I think I am going to have to make some with colors similar to yours. The only thing I might add would be brushed corduroy and frayed burlap, my favorite browns. Oh, I also may pull out my mica stains. Can't wait. Thanks so much for the inspiration. I subscribed too!
Happy you found your way here - welcome! There's mica and shimmer coming up in the die-cutting video (coming soon...) Isn't it funny how we all have different colour preferences? Good Morning! I’ve been waiting for the day you break out autumn colors!! Woohoo! Can I bother you to ask where you got the color labels that are on the caps of your sprays?
The gel prints last week were pretty autumnal too, but I'm happy you're happy! Ranger have label sheets you can print out on their website. Find the product you want the labels for, download, and then you can print the sheets on label paper, and they'll be ready to stick on rangerink.com/pages/organize-your-ranger-products
Have I enjoyed this ..... I most certainly did!! Thanks so much for sharing Alison 😊 bought one of your stamps the other day .. the umbellifer one ... oww such a beautiful, multipurpose one (not that I used it yet but seen you make the most pretty things with it hihi) Enjoy your weekend, take care, XXD PS what kind of material is your mat made from? Any idea sizewise? 😊
Very happy you enjoyed today's video, and I hope you'll have a lovely time playing with the Umbellifers! The mat was labelled as a Non-Stick and Heat-Resistant Craft Sheet - 50cm x 100cm. It's basically the same as this one from Ranger rangerink.com/products/ranger-non-stick-craft-sheet only bigger. But as I think I mentioned, sadly the craft store I got mine from (where they sold them in various different sizes) has gone out of business.
I do have a couple of Tattered Angels from over a decade ago... they're shimmer powders in fluid, so in that sense they're similar to the Spritzes. I haven't used them for years. I have to say I've been really impressed by just how shiny the Spritzes are, though (I love the Distress Mica Stain Sprays too), but I haven't made a direct comparison. Maybe I should! Glad you're enjoying the videos - thank you for that.
The ones I use are the same as the Ranger size 8 tags - stampersanonymous.com/ranger-8-manila-craft-tags-ism27973.html - but they are not Ranger ones. I used to bulk buy mine, considerably more cheaply than I've seen the Ranger ones, from an independent online craft store in the UK, but sadly they went out of business last year, unable to continue competing with the likes of Amazon. I am still working through my last box, so when that is nearly empty, I will have to find a new place to buy them. So I can't be much help, sorry, except for the size which you can see if you click on the link.
