    Awesome video brother! Yeah those "emergency blankets" are not what they are all cracked up to be from what i hear. That "tent" looked questionable too lol. I have one of those hatchet multitools from Walmart it does a decent job like the one you have. The knife may just need a touch of oil on the hinge pin to help it open easier.
    The kit itself looked pretty good as a whole though. That grinder is pretty cool. I still love that tea pot you use. It has been thru hell and back and keeps on tickn'.

    I got one of those multitools as a gift, its in one of my bags. I sharpened the "ax" head but never thought it could actually cut a small tree, I was thinking more for stripping bark etc.. great idea with the carabiner, Im going to add some small ones in my fishing kits! I have wire to make eyes but the biners would be easier. MMMM snails, 1 is bait bit a handful is dinner! My first thought was a turtle got served dinner... lol at gorton bass n squirrel ribs.. the real bass looked way tasty, all it needed was some butter, wild onions and snail sauce.... lol... I think I would slit the "tent" open and use as a tarp, 1st because its so small and 2nd its seldom cold enough here to require the extra reflective heat... I have trouble making my coffee using a coffee brew bag and my microwave before Ive had my coffee.. If Im camping by myself I make a cold brew over night so I can wash the cobwebs away before messing with fire.. between the temu vdo and this one that chair has had me rollin...it reminds me of a long running benny hill skit... that fore was ROCKIN!! The frother would be good for making scrambled eggs, i usually use an immersion blender and 2 eggs with a teaspoon of water can be whipped to fill a large coffee mug, it makes great scrambles or super fluffy omelets.. at least you wereoutside when you blended your full cuppa OMGLMAO...

    • @AdventureswithSpackmann
      @AdventureswithSpackmann  Рік тому

      Bro, scrambled eggs is genius! Lmao snail sauce. I repeat lmao snail sauce! I thought about making a tarp setup out of the tent but wanted to use it as a tent. Would have been warmer if I could have gotten closer to the fire or had the fire at the entrance. The ax surprised the heck out of me. The saw part of it really got it going. Once I sawed enough through I could bend break it over then the ax worked great. Thanks for watching, I love that chair for videos lol

    The thing i always though funny about mylar shelters and blankets, is you cant just deploy them and expect them to work😂 its just a big heat sink unless you actually know what to do with them. Example here: he shouldve dropped the one side to begin with; to trap air and prevent movement through the shelter. 2, that fire shouldve been positioned toward the opening of the shelter to trap the radient heat (assuming it burned all night).

    • @AdventureswithSpackmann

    I'm guessing that squirrel meat was a little dry. - correction.... I'm impressed with your field prep of the fish, squirrel, and apples. LOL A little late in the season for ramps (a garlicy/onion flavored plant), but I would have looked for some indian cucumbers (taste like a mild radish & cucumber) for seasoning of the bass. Plus you could have roasted the cattail roots like a potato and had some 'Fish & Chips' 🙂
    Retarding the tent - you survived, so it worked. 🙂
