YakPak, I just bought a new Old Town Sportsman 106 (PADDLE VERSION) it's not a peddle, not powered). I'm good with the PADDLE ones for my kind of slow, lazy day fishing style. You sold me on an Old Town Sportsman brand so HUGE 😊 THANKS, IT'S AWESOME.

I've been torn between the MK and the PDL in the 106. If only Old Town would make a hull design with the powered by MK set up that could accommodate the PDL drive with an adapter. I would 100% pay the upcharge for the option to switch back and forth. I just bought the Sportsman 106 PDL with plans to add a Bixby to fill the gap. Keep up the awesome content!
I bought the same kayak as norms put two nice rod holders on it and a anchor trolley system and it works great first time out I got a 2 lb lmb it was my first fish on a kayak and first time on a lake with a kayak it was awesome lakes ponds and rivers here in California are so pressured you have to go get away from the crowed banks and boat docks!!!..what better way then with a kayak!! You the man Yak Pak!!🚣♂️🎣🤙🏻

Completely agree with what you said about boats vs a kayak. I didn't want the maintenance, extra cost and added storage space needed for a boat. Waiting for my 106 MK to come in! I used to have a Pelican catch 100 and it was too hard to shuffle the oar etc and trying to fish. Have a feeling I am really going to like this one..
Spot lock is amazing. Fishing in current or tides is a blast, you can pull into a narrow location when tides are changing and cast right into the current while the 120 Auto Pilot keeps you sitting right there.

I have a old town 10.6 minnkota and it seems to have a hard time fighting the current and wind with the motor alone. I usually have to help with the paddle. Any advice? Was thinking about trying a different prop

I went kayak fishing for the first time today. It was in a cheaper pelican yak and I had a blast. The stability sucked though and I almost died 5 mins into it haha. I’d be interested to see how stable yours are compared to it. There is no way I could have stood up in the kayak I was in today haha 😂

It does good. Depending on the thickness, you may have to stop & raise the motor to clean it off. Usually I just throw it in reverse then forward again to get any grass/weeds off and that works perfectly.
Sweet man. The lakes I fish here in Friday harbor wa are nothing but mats. I fish the holes in the Lilly pads and a couple pockets that are open. I have a 55 pound thrust motor for my Colorado Accessories pontoon boat and I have to pull the motor up ever 10 feet to take the weeds off. Didn’t know if they were any better

Hahaha! That is litterally right next to my house! Now you know why you never see anybody fish it. I never have caught anything bigger than 3 lbs. in that lake. And yes, it is perfectly ok to fish it. And yes, you can fish it from the bank... The other lake on Indiantown was the money lake but something happened there. That's why you see 50 million no fishing signs now. That one had giants in it and probably still does...
I’ve actually been wanting to fish that one too!! The other one on the South Bound side of 95 has some absolute brutes in it! What happened In the one you’re talking about on Indiantown?
I am not sure but FDOT put those signs up a couple of years ago. People used to fish in it all the time. Boats, kayaks you name it. I used to go over there at night at kill it. The big lights that light the road used to make awesome shadowlines and I used to wreck bass on them. The lake on Indiiantown (not in between the turnpike and 95) was awesome to but someone got hurt jetsking or something and sued the town so they closed that one too....

That can only be answered by you. Each has their own pros/cons. For me though, the best kayak for my style of fishing is the 106 Powered By Minn Kota hands down.

I use spinning reels and I’ve been throwing soft plastics and I’m having a huge problem with my slack for some reason to the point where I can’t fish effectively because I’m constantly reeling in slack and can’t work my work slow like your supposed to. It’s worse in the kayak as well cuz I can’t stand up. What do you think my problem is ?

Lmao “No Trespassing” signs are everywhere in South Florida 👎🏽 so most of the time you have to risk it for the biscuit. Or try to sneak into residential neighborhood that have some juicy ponds if you don’t have a boat or a yak like me 🤷🏽♂️ makes it more exciting
