Hi Jay, I would love a new rod for my son. We just went fishing for speckles trout and I gave him a old rod and he kept say can I have a your rod dad. Well I guess the rod maybe for me then because I think he might have taken mine, lol. So a new rod would make his day. I find it's so important to training our new generation on respecting on our wildlife.

I work for an indigenous company in small mountain town in alberta... they have started a program called the " young guardians"... its primary goal is to get ingenious youth off the couch and get them back to nature... program is mostly volunteer with a very small amount of funding. Would absolutely love to give the program a rod or two from you guys (and maybe a little gear ... not to be greedy)... our indigenous community is very poor up here (non treaty...) so things like fishing gear is very much a luxury. I do my best to help (I'm not a ingenious community member by the way) .. but money is tight and I am simply very limited. I very much believe this is a great program to help these kids with self esteem and to give them a better direction to go in life, so something as simple as a couple rods and a little gear could be of great help.

My friend JR'S wife died of cancer a few years back leaving behind their 2 year old son. He is older now and loves to fish. I have taken him and his dad out a couple of times, and they don't have their own gear. I know it would make his day. Thank you, Jay, for everything you do for the fishing community! You are a great role model for the youth.

Two weekends ago we were in a pike derby in my kayak and she dropped the rod her grandpa gave her in the lake. She was really upset my dad passed away and he gave her that rod.

If I win a combo set up I’d be giving it to my 61 year old father for Father’s Day, his best friend and fishing buddy passed away last year (my uncle) and I have been trying to get him to lift his spirits and come out fishing with me more but his rod and reel is an OLD abu Garcia from probably 1990 and he doesn’t enjoy using it anymore because of tangles all the time. I’d take some rods for my Windsor Park Collegiate students in Winnipeg. We’ve been going fishing as a part of our Geography and Phys Ed classes for 3 years now. It’s such a great way to get kids from all our different programs interacting with each other and nature. Fishing is inclusion. Thanks for the consideration @JaySiemens !
If he actually gives some rods away to people id be surprised. But Diawa does make some pretty good stuff. I have used lots of diffrent rods over the 16 years of fishing. I personally love my St Croixs Exspecally The Legend Tournament and Legend X. Got a few Victory rods i love also and for the price point definitely worth it, but onto the point i have owned 3 diffrent G Loomis Rods G Loomis NRX,IMX and GCX sadly the cheapest one being the GCX out of the bunch and it was the only one i felt was decent, owned several Megabass rods which i didnt mind but they felt cheap and they broke very easily, owned pretty much ever Abu Garcia rod you can buy, Owned several Shimano Rods and their not bad. But honeslty nothing beats my St Croixs i keep going back. Last year i won over 5k in fishing gear and and i can honeslty say the best rod i have ever used besides my St Croixs was a 7'2 Medium Heavy Shimano Xpride paired with a Shimano Curado DC and hands down worth the money, i felt bad cause my brother has always had cheap setups and i wanted him to feel the diffrence between some nice rods and cheap rods so i gave him my Xpride setup with the Curado Dc and i gave him my St Croix Bass X and he wont use anything else but those and i think he uses a Diawa Tatula now to for jigging and he said those are by far his top 3 rods and wont use anything else also im a BIG Fuji guy in reel seats and eyes. I know im writing a whole dang essay but honeslty i just want that to be out their that their are so many rods to choose from and St Croix has been the best in my opinion, i dont care to much for their cheaper rods but if you are balling on a Budget wouldnt hurt to try it, but anywho whoevers reading i hope you have a wonderful day and catch that big one when you are out fishing next.

Daiwa's about the only brand I use on my spinning gear nowadays. Would great to get a combo for my bro's new gf who's from Mexico and never been fishing before, let alone seen a walleye or smallie. She actually helped him through a pretty rough time recently after his divorce and he lost all motivation for going fishing with me, after over 35 years of fishing together. Hey Jay! First off, love the videos! My buddy got me hooked on you ice fishing up on LOTW’s. As for the rods, my 12 year old daughter loves to watch fishing videos with me and bugs me to go fishing all the time. She still had her first 4 foot rod and it got snapped in half last year at the very end of the year between boat seats by accident. She’d love a new rod in this way specially from you. Keep on the great content!

Jay, any smaller rods for kids? I like to take my son and nephews fishing from my UTV, really gat back to some less pressured waters. But it's nice if those rods can fit under the roof. Great video. I've been ned rigging for walleye for years! I like to mimic leaches in my neck o the woods.
Who do I want the rod for… well firstly I just bought a project tin boat I’ve gutted it and I’m planning on building a mini fish assassin named the Aluminum Falcon cause it’s kinda slow has a deep foot and spits up a rooster tail and makes you feel like your hitting light speed. But I digress my daughter(10) likes fishing she has a lousy kids reel and I’d love to give it to her so she is amped to join dad on the boat and maybe score more time on the water! Yes you absolutely can catch walleye on bass baits and the other way around. Swim baits are hot in my area of MN.
As for the rod reel combo I would give it to my GF. Introducing her to fishing and I'd love for her to get on the same level as Sam. ❤

I enjoy the content and it's inspired an up and coming channel with my friend and my brother behind the camera. We just fished musky opener in zone 18 in ON and had a great day - 2 fish in the boat, moved 4 more and missed 1. As for a rod - I would love the opportunity to gift a quality setup to my best friends son so he can upgrade is spincast - he's seriously hooked on fishing and would be a tremendous blessing to their family!

I was fishing close to a lake you were fishing and was also catching 7-8 smallie for every Walleye. I found more success with Walleye going to really shallow, muddy still water bays.

A couple days ago I was flathead catfishing with my buddies and one of the caught a 27 inch walleye on a 10 inch sucker. I’ve seen many walleye that size but that was the first walleye I’ve seen caught on a bait that large.

My 4 year old son would love a new fishing rod! He got into fishing last winter when he caught his first fish, a nice little pike! He was so proud! Not two minutes later his little sister caught her first fish also, another small pike. Amazing memories were made that day!

I love those diawa under spin rods! I grew up with the Zebco 33 and always wanted the diawa. Now my 14 yr old is getting interested in fishing and I think that would be a great rod to learn with!!

How do ya know if it's a bass or a walleye when you go one? If it starts to put up a fight and you find yourself smiling a lot, it's a bass. If it feels like you hooked a stick and it's coming in sideways, probably a walleye
